How to prepare for the making of a pure gold cloisonne thangka?
First, gold artefacts, jewellery, etc. are melted into pieces, and treated to extremely high temperatures. Then doused in water to cool off and solidly. This process goes back and forth until gold emerges in a new form. Now the new gold is pounded, chiselled, until the nuggets eventually get flattened into long thin strips. And rolled out in the shape of a gold filigree thread. This process keeps on repeating itself. Like the Chinese adage, "Hammered & tempered a thousand times(千錘百煉) ." Likewise, the metaphorical raw gold ore exists in our original Nature. It has to be culled, thrown into the fire, tired and tested, endure ch...

Yes it’s air dried, so its texture is different from the baked ones from the kiln.

It is enamel powder mixed with a transparent glue then air dried. No resin is involved.

The golden coated strips are 0.3 x 1mm. The yellow filigree glue is for adhesive of the strips to the board.
