You've never seen a rug on hard flooring? It's easier to clean, more interchangeable with other rugs, and it looks nicer than carpet.

When we did our flooring, it was $3/sqft. You must get 10% more flooring to account for waste. Our room was about $1000 in the end with quarter round and underlayment boards.

Noo, don't. You will begin to hear every noise. Even the tiniest pin drop!

No we did not! We did however cut along the bottom of the doors. We had carpet before so we added the quarter round.

We laid down 1/4” underlayment on top of the existing subfloor. And yes, we used mud to level and sand the bottom floor. There was one spot in particular that was wonky so it took extra mud and sanding to level it! It’s all dependent on your floors and how anal you are for how level it is!

Oh no- if you want to do it right, it'll take some time! The first corner takes 2-3 hours. But once that's down, the rest is a breeze....as in a couple more hours and you're done. But that's just laying the floor, not including prep!

We used spacers along all the walls against the trim. That’s not mentioned I don’t think in our video. Since it’s a “floating” floor you have to have that wiggle room and allow for expansion! We used a nail gun to place quarter round above it, secured to the trim. I’m not sure if that clarifies what we did for you- but thanks for watching! ✌🏼

@@the_blue_door_house I either did not watch until the end of your video or video did not show quarter round installed. But, yes your reply that describes 1/4" gap of newly installed flooring between flooring and wall to floor trim, covered with 1/4 round would solve the problem of removing and reinstalling floor trim to cover flooring to wall gap............which is brilliant!

You’re right! It’s not in the video. In the description I think I put in there this isn’t a perfect how to! I just want people to see how easy it really is and not be so afraid of it. In the tools we used I included spacers (but no indication as to how it’s used!) ✌🏼
