What was with the huge log on the fire. Looked like that was in the morning?
Cant park there mate 👺👺👺
Toyota's are not unbreakable. The misubishi tows it out lmfao.. Nothing frightens a triton
Going too fast and no experience in common sense 😊
Well maybe now all of you learned a lesson on things to do and things not to do when you are at remote locations in the Outback, if you haven’t learned,,,,,then I would recommend you stay away from the Outback for your own safety and everyone else’s…… !
all the gear and no idea
what a n00b.
You can say what you want……they were going too fast. Period.
Nothing frightens a Triton... except a straight gravel road 🙈
Bet Dick would have rather been in the real #17
Good aftermarket suspension and decent branded load rated tyres would have helped. That model triton handles like a raft on the rapids at the best of times .
Better off using recovery points with snatch straps than winch cables for towing.
see this and just wanted join up again.
This was very interesting footage
That just sucks... Glad all persons are okay...
I have only watched the video once….BUT I AM WONDERING IF A ROCK DESTROYED THE LEFT REAR RIM ONTHE VEHICLE WHICH CAUSED THE TIRE TO SUDDENLY DEFLATEAND CAUSED THE VEHICLE ROLLOVER…
Bad luck? or carelessness...
Jim and Jeff got nothing on these guys
when you air down your tires too much you will overheat them on the corregations and thats what gives you the blow outs. Better to keep them hard while towing
Bitsofshitty is not a good choice for a Desert wheeler in my opinion . To fast and braking to hard...?
Glad you all survived...
Big Red must have shrunk since I went up it 30 year ago, doesn't even look like the same spot, not even high anymore.
You know what I hate? 4x4ers that hang shit on other 4x4ers. At least you blokes don’t edit your videos and show the truth behind a trip with shit that can and does go wrong. Good on you.
@Flynn !00% correct. Plenty of armchair experts around. Most accidents in this type of scenario are caused by lack of experience with the actual driving conditions. Experience comes with practice. We all learn from our mistakes. Next trip for them will probably be a more casual affair. Cheers all. Travel safe.
well that stuffed ya day up 4 shore glad ya ok
Speed, arrogance ad stupidity....
20:32 to fast on gravel with a trailer. Hope all was ok!
My exact thoughts, city people tend to travel on dirt roads as if they are sealed, you really do need to drop your speed quite a bit, especially when towing. One of the first things I was told when working out in the bush for a large earth moving company driving the company four wheels drives.
Great people up that way, been too long since I've been through Birdsville. Glad you were all ok in the end, the insurance company(ies) involved would had loved you all !! (Well, perhaps not, lol.)
Classic 😲
Wearing the high viz with open sandals !! Hello !
Wow that happened so quickly. such a surprise
Learning from this experience. Thanks for sharing. Keep well.
Using a winch cable as a snatch strap? You have the mechanical sensetivity of a bunch of dead s--ts.
Rotten luck mate. Even with the best tyres, the right shaped rock at the wrong moment and bang. But when you consider the millions of k's over terrible ground against blowouts, they're quite rare, thankfully. Glad you are all ok.
That's what happens when clueless idiots drive at that speed towing on gravel.
If that was really BIG RED it is entirely different to 1997. On the steep western face you approached on level ground from a large clay pan.the dune swept upwards in steep slope consistent rise to the top, not in several gradual steepening sections.. At the top you accessed a large flattish, slight easterly down slope. But the rise ended on the highest region of the dune. Not a soft hump dropping a fair way in easterly side just afteredge, Nd no higher sand drift just southerly.
Some of the worst dirt road driving I've seen.
Fishing rod holders mounted illegally if in NSW.
20:30 oh dear, how did that happen?
Glad everyone is ok . But slow down on gravel roads while towing
Was this talked about on abc radio?
Pity the useless MAC don’t enforce the safety standards on metropolitan roads and large 4 WDs, they don’t comply with the safety standards on metropolitan roads, the MAC know this but are so useless they don’t get off their holes and enforce the standards, they don’t mind a 4wd killing another person on the local road.
Todays market you probably get 30k for it lol
So sorry to see that happened
Hard luck blokes. But I can still see my tracks on Big Red of my Peugeot 203 2 wheel drive.
Jesus, that went to shit in a heartbeat!
Wow what a story. As all other comments glad you are all ok and massive respect to everyone involved in getting you sorted and safe. Seeing this has made me wonder about margins though for sure. A few years back on the way out of Canarvon in my 200 series towing 3.5 ton van, (twin axle) had a rear passenger side blow out, I mean disintegrated, and yet she stayed true and other than the noise not sure you really felt it happen. Difference was as well though I was on black top. I sit here wondering what made the outcomes so different? Any informed comments people?
Wow a blowin tyre did all that , did u have tyre sensors if not I'm getting them anyway , the van up right still looks good strong them , yer the Ute well insuranse will get u another , u guys lucky to be alive gee wiz God bless and cheers to ya rescuers big 👍 up
Didn’t see any tyre pressure adaptations to suit the road conditions
Sad to see this....
Absolutely love the simplicity of this video....tells a great storyline.... Thank you
