Grumps, Scott from MARK is this something you want to do by yourself or you up for people joining you?
@swt0846 Normally, I'd happily take others with me. On this occasion though, I'm afraid I'm going to go solo. Appreciate the offer of company though 🙂👍 Next time I organise a trip like this, you're more than welcome to join me?!
Man, that machine is a hunk of crap ! Nice video
@@Motozstu matter of opinion, but thanks for the feedback
@ just kidding I own one Busting your chops
@Motozstu I get loads of "experts", telling me how crap these bikes are...... Funnily enough, none of them ride or own one!
@@grumpsrides42 so true Love mine
@Motozstu Yep, I'm really enjoying mine. Awaiting for a gear position sensor to be changed, and a repair, to a leaking front tyre. Rim seal failure! Keep an eye on the channel, full video coming soon 😁 Again, thanks for the feedback and support 👍
Grumps Great idea and thanks. I go straight to Owls Nest as I'm one of the MARK MHFA, so get there for 10ish. Hope you to see you at owls with loads of your social riding mates ❤
@swt0846 I'll be there, around lunchtime 🤞 Not expecting a huge turn out, as its a bit early in the year for some 🙂
Keep Brian , he should be kept.. as he’s a great bike the others could be sold to pay off any finance leaving you with a fantastic useful bike, Brian.
@@0scartheCat Brian, you'll be pleased to know, is staying 😀 I couldn't part with him now! Thanks again for the feedback and support 👍
It’s fine for a motorway, no issue at all.
@@0scartheCat Thanks for the feedback 👍
Wonderful review, Grumps, thankyou
@@amandanorth6526 Thank you! And thanks for the feedback and support 🙂👍

@ladyjrider666 Oh ok?! 🤔 I'll check it, but it was OK earlier 🤔 Thanks for letting me know
@grumpsrides42 and it's all ok now... weird old YT
@ladyjrider666 Cool 😎 Thanks again for letting me know
Mate it’s prob the rubber gromit on your valve seat they screw them in to tight and distort them
@@RobSoap-i7t Thanks for the information 👍 Currently in the shop, being looked at. Thanks again
@ welcome
@ I’m currently looking At 790s for a bike trip next year what do you make of them ? Cheers
@@RobSoap-i7t Personally, I think they're great. Easy to ride, good fun, handle really well, considering the 21" front wheel. You can cruise at motorway speeds, and have fun in the twisties, commutes well too. Not the most comfy of seats though! After about an hour and a half, to 2 hours, you'll want a break. Or of course, use a sheepskin cover etc. I'm getting around 250 miles (400km) to a tank, and around 60-70mpg (21-24km/l) So range is good. Easy to attach luggage for a long trip. Will go off road easily, no need for mods, unless you're going seriously off road (enduro style) Green lanning, trail riding, all good on stock tyres. Stock Pirelli's are good on road too, so make a good 'travel' tyre. My only real issue, is the screen. I needed to fit a screen extension, to mine. I'm 5'6 (170cm), but I've never found a screen that works for me! Hope this helps, but it's only my opinions, I'd advise checking other owner reviews too. Lots of videos on my channel, on and off road. Thanks for the support, have a good trip next year. Grumps
@ Cheers Grumps that great information thank you for spending the time putting your thoughts together 👍
Wishing you well for the season. Despite working I hope you get some decent family time. I really enjoyed our ride together in Ogmore See you in the new year I hope. Ride safe, LJ
@@ladyjrider666 Thanks, you too x
Mate from a fellow MARK volunteer...... We do what we can do don't ever feel like you have let MARK down, you publicise us via your vlogs and as a volunteer I greatly appreciate that and the publicity we gain from it. I believe the next meet is in Feb 25 now if you can make it great, I'm Scott and ride a triumph 1200 explorer aka the starship enterprise
@swt0846 Thanks bud 👍 I'll get to a meet.......one day! 🙂
I just saw another longterm review that mentioned that oil leak
can you share the loop on a map?
@leeharrison2940 Hiya mate, there's a photo in the video, of the route. It starts near Burrington. Unfortunately, I don't have a sharable 'map' I could send you, sorry.

Did it reduce the heat on your legs?
@@tylervosters3234 Oh yes!! Quite a bit! You still get warm legs in traffic, but nowhere near as warm 😁
What mid pipe did you put on there?
@tylervosters3234 The de-cat pipe, is an ebay special. Made in China, stainless steel. Not a perfect fit, difficult to line up all the pipework. I'd recommend using g a quality pipe, I.e. Black Widow, costs about £10-£15 more. My complete system is: Stock KTM headers, Chinese de-cat pipe, Black Widow link pipe and silencer. Hope this helps.
@ thank you! That is what I was wondering. Seems like the Arrow de-cat seems to be the choice for most but WAY more expensive than the eBay specials
@tylervosters3234 No worries, more than happy to help. My type of de-cat pipe, is basically a tube, no baffling, so a bit louder!
Fair play for getting out there on the bike. Stunning scenery. Interesting hearing your thoughts. Several of my bikes have been bought in the winter, the T7 being a prime example. Think I picked that up about a week after ordering it, even with all the extras fitted.
@NortonUnofficial Sometimes you are lucky, buying or selling, but generally, winter is quiet, on the sales front (imo)
alright, will follow

BROTHERS WE WILL ATACK
I won'r be getting rid of my Himalayan anytime soon. My local RE dealer is selling brand new 411s for £3799 otr as well as a couple of Scrams for the same price. Trade values are rock bottom at the moment for all bikes.
@AliasMrHackenbacker Yep, same here. I'll keep mine, unless I'm offered 'silly money'!! 😁 Thanks for the feedback and support 👍
😅 my Intruder can go for double.. tidy. I'll tell m&p what I want as I can brand new kawasaki vulcan s then. 🎉😂 Why are you trying to sell up? X
@ladyjrider666 I'm not selling up. I was just thinking of what I'd 'need' to sell the bikes for, if I chose too. Always looking for something new though?! 🤔😁👍
@@grumpsrides42 lol a broken intruder any good.. still trying to get someone to work on her.
@ladyjrider666 ☹️ What's wrong with it? Not my thing, Intruders, or Suzuki's tbh. Had too many issues with Suzuki's in the past, mostly electrical 🤬
@grumpsrides42 she blew her shaft./ final drive oil out 2 months ago. Crackled, smoked the lot. 😢 Cleaned it all up and new break shoes as drum but can't find the fault and can't strip it down anymore as roadside. So she's waiting.. a month so far on a mechanics list... I'm getting impatient. I'm riding richies 1500cc intruder for club stuff, but he works nights so I'm limited. I don't have a car. 🤦♀️ and it's like riding a barge
@ladyjrider666 Oh bugger! Sorry I can't help you 😔
I have to ask are you a true biker 🤔💭🐑🇵🇭🏴⭐
@gordonsuddery4635 Well, that depends on what you mean, by a 'True biker'? Almost everything I do, involves bikes, I ride all year round, in almost all conditions. My whole life, evolves around motorbikes...... You decide 🤔 Thanks, as always, for the support 🙂👍 BTW, this was, incase you hadn't realised, a bit of a joke 😁
Nice update. Worrying there was no fault log
@camsphotovideo616 Yeah, don't know why 🤔 If it reoccurs, back it goes....
In my home country... had I known about your ride down, I'd have joined you... :) I live in Cardiff now but come from Penzance :)
I believe I posted it on my Facebook page, Ride outs and events in Wales (mostly). But it was about a year ago....
@@grumpsrides42 I only just found out about your channel after speaking to your wife this afternoon... I asked if M&P had any KTM 790 Adventures for sale lol... she mentioned you had one and had a RUclips channel so I came to see what your thoughts were :)
@PaulCornish Awesome 👌 Thanks very much.
What a spectacular lane to ride, even with the many potholes to bounce over and through haha. Would love to come ride this! You keep a good pace, don’t be to hard on yourself. Fear is normal, it keeps us alive haha. I’d highly recommend joining TRF, not only are they a great charity fighting to keep open and reopen the amazing green lanes around us, the local groups regularly do group rides, some suitable for big bikes and some for newcomers, not to mention loads of help and advice.
@wildwithsteve Thanks mate, yeah Claerwen is my favourite I'd happily take you up there, it's a great lane
Thank you for the honest owner update! I am about to pull the trigger for this ktm 790 adv and your information helps a lot.
@LastAllin Thank you for the feedback. I hope your purchase goes well, and you are as fortunate, as I've been (so far), with your bike. I have heard of other owners having issues, but I think I've been lucky 😁 upto now 🤞🤣
Good update mate
@@NortonUnofficial Thanks 👍
Thanks for the update. Glad you got the gremlin off your screen:) You have the most miles of any one I have found with the 23/24 790’s. I came to the same conclusion as you have with the T7, great bike but didn’t satisfy my needs. I was coming off a Africa Twin and wanted something more old man friendly. I’m not disappointed (at this point) what so ever. I did have to take my 790 in shortly after purchase for a quickshifter re-set as it wouldn’t go into 4th through sixth. Works perfect now. Appreciate the information and will continue to follow your journey with the KTM.
@RandyBB-yz1kq Thank you, your comments, feedback and support, are really appreciated 🙂👍 Glad to hear your happy with your bike too. Always a bit worrying, when there's so much negativity on social media, and little positivity, about a bike. This is why, I'm doing an honest (Nothing hidden) owners diary?! of my bikes. Thanks again, be safe, ride safe and have fun 👍 Grumps
Good video 👍
@@greggory448 Thanks, much appreciated 👍
Hello, i am getting this bike in 2 weeks and i wanted to ask how you feel about the position of this bike compared to other sports bikes? Is it too aggressive ? I want to ride it in the city but not long trips and i am a beginner too and i liked the sitting feeling of it but definetly anxious for it :)
@senpai-kl9dc For me, it wasn't too aggressive. I've not ridden many sports bikes and I'm more used to an upright position. Enjoy your new bike, ride safe and have fun 👍
@@grumpsrides42Thank you for the quick response , loved the review :)
@senpai-kl9dc Thank you 🙂 and thanks for the feedback and support 👍
A favourite of mine. A friend had the whole BBC radio series on vinyl LPs, we used to spend many happy evenings listening to them.
Thanks for the update, love the Enfield range of bikes not so sure about KTM ! Enjoy your winter my best wishes to you from the Philippines ♥️💪👍😉😀😁🏁🏍️🛺🐑🇵🇭🏴⭐
@gordonsuddery4635 Thanks bud, always appreciate the feedback and support 👍
dont think i would take a road bike over there,
@adriantompson It's possible, but not advisable. Seen a video a few years ago, guy rode a BMW R1200R over to the gates! Definitely NOT something I'd try.
These were on my possibles list when I last got tyres but went for a Karoo 4 instead. Am most likely going to go back to a more extreme dirt focussed tyre in the future though, probably a MotoZ Tractionator Adventure as they give far more confidence in sloppy mud. What others have you run to compare these to?
@HippoDrones I had stock Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR'S on originally. I've used Mitas E-07's, on my Himalayan. I only do light trails, mostly gravel and puddles tbh. Limited experience (and talent) off road. I also travel, about 80 miles, on road, to get to the trails
@@grumpsrides42 If I was restricted to a single ADV bike that I needed to do trails and road riding, I'd possibly stick with the Karoo 4 or maybe go with what you have here, as they are ok at it all, but because my Aprilia is mainly for trail riding it can have more focussed tyres.
@@HippoDrones You also do far more 'technical ' trails than me! 🤣
@@grumpsrides42 I don't know about that mate, I've seen how slimy it has been in some of your past vids mate 🙂

@NortonUnofficial no worries mate
Swap in a lithium battery and adjustable levers and it's pretty sweet.
@Tiax776 I'd agree with adjustable, possibly short, levers. Not bothered about a lithium battery, tbh Thanks for the feedback 👍
Wouldn't buy anything from a country that creates cottage industries to swamp our communication systems with scams.
So for anyone reading and trying to decide... Mine is 23, bought it new, at 6000 Km the fork seal leaked, KTM doesn't cover the seals thru warranty so I had to pay it. 8000 km approximately battery died, bike was 8 months old, so the battery didn't fall under the guarantee... I had to buy new battery... Before battery died , Cruise control stopped working and my rear stop light when front brake pressed... Some sensor issue on the ABS. At 15 000 km rear disc plate is worn out and ready for change... Front brake liquid container is leaking... Want to buy it? Can't recommend. Am curious what is next? Now am trying to get sensor, brake pump and a disc on the guarantee...
@antnevent3158 Wow! That's one long list! Sorry to hear your experience has been so bad. Hope you get it sorted 🤞 Thank you for the feedback
@@grumpsrides42 I feel it has just started...how "lucky" I am the next issue is the camshaft 🤣🤣 This bike is like a relationship with a medium looking problematic woman which is amazing in bed... And you just can't walk away easily.. Bike has torque, runs great, so agile.. but annoying
Oh dear! You need to do something about your helmet cam mate. By the time you had got to the end of Hatfield Road, I was feeling decidedly sea sick. The video was bouncing around all over the place.
