I do not think Hydrogen is understood as a future fuel yet. The simple fact that the initiatives described in this announcement, with impacts on hundreds of millions of people, on a channel with 1000 subscribers, attracts no public comment within 12 hours of being public, supports my conclusion. 😢

Ref Catch-22 situation during discussion, Why does Hydrogen taxonomy matter at this stage ? Shouldn't infra. be top priority at this point, i.e.: ID H2 customers of choice and supply him all that he needs. No steam reformer H2 though, as that would defeat the purpose, every H2 molecule produced should ideally come from electrolysis, no matter the power source. Otherwise 10 years from now, discussion would still be spinning around Catch-22.

According to drill samples we're at a 100 million years low in terms of Co2 in the atmosphere. Co2 hasnt been this low in a 100 million years.. and Co2 is not a driver of climate change anyhow.. and greenhouse effect is a blatant lie, we already know when we enter a warming period the increase in Co2 follows the increase in temperature, it doesnt precede it. and the climate scam people wants to cheat you into believing that its the other way around and that we're at a high level of Co2 right now, which we are NOT. Its unbelivable the huge scam this is.. Besides the climate is getting cooler, we're headed for a cooler climate like the scientist already knew back in the 70s, before they all got co-opted into the neo liberal climate cult. Its a scam to wash money thru "sustainable energy" companys if you dont know. There's nothing sustainable about Solar or Wind. Its horrific for the enviroment and horrific for the sea and land animals like the companies themselves admits. and even if Solar and wind didnt destroy the enviroment we cannot recycle a windmill and they have to be replaced every couple of decades, solar too. So its not green or sustainable. Its a scam. Literally nothing about it is what they say it is. 🤷‍♂

Adding battery degradation factors into the system dynamics should be taken into account from the outset. Therefore, taking energy from car batteries back into the grid, may in fact be a step to avoid, as a planning element. But, I am interested in seeing how the super grid concept will work, in considering profit sharing, vis a vis hydrogen usage.

Greenwashing Hydrogen is a greenhouse gas. Ammonia, when used in certain ways, produces greenhouse gases. Both take huge amounts of energy to produce. Current ammonia production accounts for something like 2% of global greenhouse gas emmisions. 99% of Hydrogen produced today is made using fossil fuels like Methane or coal. Any increase in production will necessetate an increase in fossil fuel use. There are many green technologies Hydrogen and Ammonia apologists tout, yet every one of them are potential technologies, are expensive, require rare minerals, or are hard to scale. If demand grew in the next 5 years, there is zero chance green energy production would be there to meet that demand. Fossil fuels would be. I liked Hydrogen. That seeming beauty of burning something and getting water. Unfortunately, the deeper one looks, the more they see that it is little more than a thinly veiled curtain the oil anf gas industry is trying to hide behind.

insightful talk from all speakers. There are a lot of conversation. The learning will accelerate with execution. It is prudent to target to build as many pilot projects as possible to test the technology and let all participants gain experience. Building H2 infrastructure has many unknowns for us today. Maarten listed the roadmap nicely with demand-side, local production/consumption, pipelines, transportation of molecules/ports, etc. Antonio is absolutely correct in state of technology, reliability, safety, performance, certification, and energy cost. Rebecca touched on critical points re Levelized Cost of Hydrogen (LCOH) in terms of need for cost reduction and super long-development cycle (feasibility to operation). Our learnings are accumulative and are in incremental steps. So, in many ways, the more pilot projects funded now to be built with accelerated local/government support (i.e., permit, contracts, certification, etc), the better we learn our next steps in policy, regulations, incentives, technology readiness and broader roadmap.

The smart guys always leave out green Ammonia NH3 when discussing energy storage and generation of green electricity. Ammonia has been handled by humans for 100 years, we know all about safety. Ammonia NH3 has a higher energy density than H2. Shipping H2 you better ship it in form of NH3 because it has only to be cooled to -33 degree C as compared to -256 C for H2. The latest innovations show that there are astonishing breakthroughs in the production of green Ammonia NH3 coming. This will allow the production of NH3 at lower cost than H2 in the northern hemispher.

I have been getting up to speed. You raise a good point. The efficiency number I often see is about 70%, Put in 10KWH and get out 7KWH of chemical energy stored in ammonia bonds (liquid). Producing hydrogen is often quoted around 75% efficiency but you invest 30% of the remaining energy in chilling it to a liquid. Some researchers hope to get the initial efficiency up to 95% with better catalysts, selective membranes, etc. The chilling will always be an issue.

In theory, the benefit is if you've got essentially free solar energy in Australia you can make ammonia and ship it to Japan. For use in transportation fuels, you've got to consider what your alternatives are for jets and ships. In those cases you can't just use batteries to store the power until you need it - the batteries are too heavy (for jets) or too expensive (for ships). For ships, the main competitor would be to use methanol as a fuel instead of ammonia. What is the efficiency of creating methanol from C02 and hydrogen?

    • @wilfriedschuler3796

So you are handling and manipulating 83% of a useless stuff, importing it to Japan, process it again and blow it in the air? Are you sane? Beside the fact that you need close to 1 KWh/kg to process all this. And where do you get this energy to be wasted in Japan? From imported LNG. Free solar energy is such an idiot phrase. Inclusion is much better than exclusion, and I am glad you realize the force of inclusion teamwork. I often say that the men that do not listen to the women lose 90% of their intelligence. It is not an immediate agreement but an opportunity to gather and exchange ideas. Being a feminist only means considering men and women equal. Unfortunately, I have yet to be able to join one of your meetings as I can only do it online. After getting the ticket, I was stopped by not have the passcode. Even with great ideas, we must network to gain the opportunity. We can cooperate to meet the needs of the green energy market to produce electricity and fuel for transportation and production. Clean and desalinized water. Help factories decarbonize. Produce 99.99% pure green hydrogen and other products. Ammonia, oxygen, nitrogen, chlorine, methanol, and ethanol. Excel is the name of our equipment, meaning giving more than expected. It only requires two 12-volt, 2.5-ampere batteries to start up the system. Then we could remove the batteries, and Excel would generate its own energy, allowing it to be self-sufficient and generate all the products with surplus energy. Excel is a small, portable, scalable, and modular on-site system that does not require storage tanks, logistics centers, or transportation hubs. We don't need acres of solar panels or wind turbines, and we don't have to pay for electricity, water, or other materials required by other companies. We can move ready-to-use (RTU) green hydrogen plants of any size to any location, even remote and challenging to access with no energy or water availability. Where they can be set up thanks to the modular design. The units can also be monitored and controlled in real time, and Excel can be turned off automatically in an emergency. Because we are flexible and adaptable, we can assist with various market applications. This list is intended to show you our capability and desire to help. We can work together to solve the energy and clean water crises while reducing carbon emissions by substituting fossil fuels for clean green energy and products as soon as possible. 99% green hydrogen and ammonia to be used as energy (electricity or heating) or fuel on vehicles, construction, or raw materials. Purification and desalination of water Decarbonization: We can use the burned and contaminated gases now released in the flue-gas stacks on the chimney's exhaust gas cells from oil refineries and factories from many industries to convert energy or product. We can do this by injecting nitrogen, freezing contaminants, and doing a new extraction. There is no reason to bury the CO2. We can also produce green oxygen, nitrogen, chlorine, methanol, and ethanol. We can produce ammonia for use as an agricultural and chemical raw material. Ammonia could also be used in fuel formulation in large commercial and industrial vessels. Use of Ammonia as an alternative to transporting hydrogen in liquid form. Adding green hydrogen to natural gas increases BTUs while reducing consumption. Green hydrogen injection into crude oil increases its volume and yield in petroleum products. Fossil raw materials and hydrogen go hand in hand to produce most of the products of this industry today: fuel, paint, alcohol, solvents, and nylon. Existing electric, diesel, and gasoline engines can be transformed to use hydrogen. Combining innovation with renewal makes it faster, cheaper, and more environmentally friendly. We can improve what we already have and accelerate from gray to green more quickly than we thought. Because Excel is compact and scalable, this system can be installed in shipping & tourism vessels and many other applications. In the form of ammonia or using one of the many ways to store energy with hydrogen cells. For large airplanes, we are studying the possibility of using green hydrogen, ammonia, or one of the many other ways to store this energy in cells. (batteries). Why are electric cars only as clean as their power supply? Electric and hydrogen vehicles depend on grey energy until we make it green, but for now, these cars are eco-false because the electricity they consume is mainly grey.
