The method you describe is fine for youth, but if you are an older surfer seeking to prolong your rotator cuffs then it is fundamental to keep your arms straight as you pull back. Also, it is further protective of your rotator cuffs to keep your shoulder down as you reach and pull. Thank you.

I'm sure we get what you're trying to say, and I'm sure you provide a valuable service to your clients - all credit to you for making the effort to help people on the internet. But you might really want to check your terminology, especially with regard to "centre of mass" and "centre of gravity" (try "base of support"). If you need me to be more specific I will, but I thought you might prefer to look it up for yourself and correct accordingly. Hope this helps.

You're missing some very key elements in both your catch and pull. Watch some front crawl technique vids. After your catch, you need to glide your hand forward before pulling. This sheds the bubbles so you're pulling more water. You're bending at the elbow during the pull which significantly decreases the leverage. Very poor video.
