    If you really want your submersible bore pump to have any longevity you need to install a cooling shroud on it before installing down the hole. In my experience these cheap Chinese pumps don’t have a very long life as it is, few years tops so honestly you are better off buying something more quality when off grid like a Grundfos pump and controller. Also S/S safety cable instead of rope which will rot, Just my opinion.

      @@davidantrobus1751 hey, Amanda here. Nothing wrong with the pump in this instance but Corey has noticed sone common weaknesses across a few he has used… basically because they are cheaper construction. But I’ll get him to add his thoughts when he gets home tonight. We removed the old pump because we were looking at getting a back up to have on hand and had been eyeing off the alt tech kit so just decided to install the upgraded pump and put the old one aside instead as our emergency pump 👍 I think I might have edited that explanation out now that I think of it!!!

      @ROCKPILEOffgridHomestead 8 дней назад

      @@davidantrobus1751 Hey mate the cheaper pump has the circuit board built in and it was a weakness in that it could fault and it wasn’t something external of the pump you could troubleshoot. The pump would just stop working. Also, the way the float switch is set you can’t add additional switches to suit a tank set up. Not an issue for us but has been in another situation I used one in. I mean, it’s only $350 so good for the price but does have limitations.

    Great vid guys. Why not make your 'panels' (that you plan to build in the future) incorporate into the mulch rings at the bottom? Maybe make the 'rings' squares instead. And, if you sit the panels on top of these square rings the bees can still get in through the 25mm mesh. You could even make the panels using mesh or chicken wire so bees and beneficial insects can get in. You could also make the panels easy to attach / detach throughout the fruit season so you can open them to do maintenance and pick fruit etc.
