Ég tala ekki/smá íslensku, en ég vil tala vel :)
You want me to WHAT Læti?😨
I'd love to have a video regarding the "r" at the end of a word. I often heard native speakers kind of replacing the r at the end with a "sshh"-eque-sound I can't really reproduce correctly. When I hear you say "Takk fyrir" it sounds to me like "Takk fyrish". Is that just regional accent or a common rule when r is at the end?
Haugesund is right south of Bergen.
When will you be back live?
I understand the contant, but one or two words that is different.
I am from Haugesund in Norway and my dialect is quite like Icelandic.
This is easy.
😂😂😂
Love the videos in icelandic
I love the spoken icelandic. A podcast for icelandic learners in icelandic would be fantastic!
Obviously! Don't even know how to spell it wrong. Sarcasm off.
Say this for us? I'm joking.
Missed the live sadly. I was a bit discouraged with my Icelandic progress but I was able to understand 98% of what you said in icelandic. That lifted my spirits! Takk fyrir!!
That’s an awesome share! Gaman að heyra, Nia!
Visually stunning! Wonderful recommendation.
Thank you so much - happy to hear you enjoyed it!
I’m currently working on a book where some of the characters will be speaking Icelandic and was wondering if you could help me with pronunciation/spelling/word order. I would like to use the phrase “my light” / “you are my light “ as a term of endearment. I have found ‘light’ is ljós and ‘my’ is mitt but I’m not sure if just putting them together would work. I find the language very beautiful and wish to be respectful of it and use it properly within my writing.
I missed it :(
I am sorry if you missed it - the waiting list for the next opening is here: www.speakvikingcourses.com/latecomer
To say sorry you can also say firigethu. Please answer with correct spelling. I was born there but attended school in usa
Nice

Ég skili þig
People are just to lazy to make sounds with their R’s and it’s easy in conversation to butcher the language
I love your page!! Do you teach online?
Thank you so much. I do, yes. You can check out options here: www.speakviking.com/ - and I have a new course coming out soon and you can sign up early here: www.we-learn-consulting.com/speakviking-wl
Ég tala smá íslensku
omg
it’s so hard
Very respectfully that is not the Icelandic pronunciation of the alphabet. What you are doing is repeating the name of the letters again not their sounds...
almost as kep-lavik
Takk fyrir og merci beaucoup! J'ai practiqué mon Francais pour quatre ans au lycee og ég er að læra íslensku.
Mín var ánægjan - gangi þér vel :)
How do you roll rs like that? I can't roll my rs at all, I don't know how
Hi Óskar! I really like your videos and you. So takk kærlega! I wondered, have you ever thought about a cooperation with the YT channel "Easy languages" so that you could start a "easy icelandic" channel? Just wanted to let you know this possibility, but maybe you already have thought or heard about it and decided to go for your "own" brand, which is absolutely legitimate. Bless Bless!
Ég líka
Góða kvöldið! Ég hélt að y og ý væru "ufsilon i" og "ufsilon í". 🤔 Takk!
rétt - bókstafirnir heita það en eru bornir fram eins og i og í :)
Gott kvöld! Ég er frá Québec-fylki og er að læra íslensku. Uppáhalds íslenska máltækið mitt er "áfram með smjörið". Takk fyrir myndbandið og bless bless!
Takk fyrir Mr. Frog - "áfram með smjörið!"
For vacation! I started last year before our first trip in July, the reaction from some locals was amazing when they spoke to me in English, and I responded in Icelandic. It's a great icebreaker to feel more connected to the people and the culture. My grandparents came to the US from Sweden so I had already been exposed to some basic Scandinavian as a boy.
Just don’t ask me to say “að borða” For some reason this frustrates me! 😫😂
Our favorite town. Love staying at the Greenhouse Hotel.
Það er sól eða sunna eins og sagt var við mig þegar ég var barn.
Ein Waschbär - direct translation in German
What does it mean?thank you
The town of Hveragerði, the name directly translated is Hotspring-hedge
Haha thatswhatshesaid. The "LL" is probably the hardest one for me and the "R" at the end of words, like you had in Holtagardar, Fjordur etc.
A good one to challenge yourself with is “Hallormsstaðarskógur” if you struggle with the double l’s and the r’s at the end of words. But then I think the most challenging one is the n’s at the end of sentences = Höfn, vatn, barn
And it means......?
The town of Hveragerði, the name directly translated is Hotspring-hedge
Thank you.
