Vermont Life Hvy Snow with Honda Pioneer 12-17-22
Просмотров 5 тыс.2 года назад
Hi Guys! I'm back! I took about a year's break from videos because of many set-backs in our adventures. I crashed my boats trolling motor and couldn't buy a replacement in the covid environment, then my John Deere 420 tractor died due to a burnt out rectifier that I couldn't find a replacement for. Then my truck started leaking coolant and multiple shops couldn't find the leak for almost 4 mont...
2021 Honda Pioneer Snow Plowing 12 19 21

Hi Guys! I'm back with another snow plowing video with my 2021 Honda Pioneer 700-2. This time with about 9" of fresh snow on my 1500' long gravel driveway in central Vermont. Unfortunately the weather was warm before the storm so the driveway wasn't frozen solid so I know that I plowed off a good bit of gravel, but what are you gonna do? It had to get done. The Pioneer did great. No traction is...
John Deere Classic 420 Garden Tractor with Grapple Moving Heavy Maple!
Просмотров 3,4 тыс.3 года назад
This is how I put my classic JD 420 Garden Tractor to work in the summer time, hauling heavy maple logs up a steep slope to my fire wood processing area. It's one of my machines that allow me, with a tender back, to still burn wood in the cold Vermont winters and maintain my heavily wooded property. I do love my machines. Enjoy, Steve.
Shelburne Bay Bass 5-19-2021

My first time bass fishing Shelburne Bay, a bay just a little south of Burlington, Vermont. It's a pretty big bay so there was lots to explore. I did find some really nice bass and some feisty pike as well. And you can't beat the views where-ever you are on Lake Champlain. Enjoy, Steve.

With the Lake Champlain waters around Ticonderoga NY rising quickly the bass are on the feed. If you can figure out the best technique for the day. Today I figured them out and got my Redemption from my last trip. This is a good video to watch during your lunch break at work. Enjoy! Steve.
Ticonderoga Bass Fishing 4-6-2021

This video is of my first open water fishing on Lake Champlain down by Ticonderoga NY. It's early April and the water is still very cold so I didn't have any luck, but this video goes through my day and my decisions of how I fished two shallow coves looking for bass and pike. It also goes into how low the water is on Champlain this year and how it may affect bass spawning. I hope that you enjoy...
Bomoseen Ice Fishing with Honda Pioneer 3 5 2021

Another Vermont adventure! My buddy and go ice fishing on Lake Bomoseen for big trout, pike and bass. I use my Honda Pioneer 700-2 and Kevin uses his ATV to carry all our equipment to our selected spot a good distance away. This is our first year using machines while ice fishing and while we're still learning, we're loving not having to drag everything manually. And the distance we can go now o...

Honda Pioneer Ice Fishing Champlain 1 31 2021

We went out on lower Lake Champlain last Sunday to do some ice fishing while utilizing my new 2021 Honda Pioneer 700-2 Deluxe to transport all our gear onto and off the ice. This was the Pioneers first foray onto the ice so we didn't go far in case we ran into issues. But we needn't have feared: no issues what-so-ever. The fishing wasn't the best, but it was fun anyway. Enjoy, Steve.

Poor planning... shifty video...
Is this a regular lawn mower? Or is this a compact tractor with bucket loader options and 3 point hitch? Why don’t you plow going up the driveway?
I got one and added a cab, ezbuck loader. I actually haven't used my blade in a few years. Great reviews and tractor
So, you're plowing gravel?
Beautiful country!
You did a good job with what you have. The best implement for this job though would be a pull type scraper with a hydraulic cylinder that adjusts using gauge wheels behind the blade. You do need plenty of room to turn them around though. Ideally the blade (or loader) to push the large piles and the scraper to do the leveling. A 3-point mounted box blade with lever placed in float position should also work pretty well for the gravel. I just bought a 420 for $350 and am working some of the kinks out now. It came with the blade. I plan on a snow blower and box blade for starters.
350 for a 420 is a steal! As long as you can get the parts that you need.
Someone needs to teach you how to use a snow plow! Wasted trips up the drive with your plow dangling in the air!
Looks to me like he had the chains on his tail gate set too long
Замечательно😎👍
Whats your thought between the blade or going to a blower, i prefervthe blade and bucket because of cost
I've never used a blower on a tractor, but in my case, I could just envision the tons of gravel that would pepper the woods!
Most likely your hills are level but after uses with mine i drive up the gravel then put the blade down and lift the tures up then backup. Its time consuming. Ive done dirt piles that way.
I found out when i level rock after city's plowing i go backyards it seems to pull more from traction. I use the buck backing up aslo. These are the toughest built old tractors
Great old 430s mine looks like yours haha, i had to switching engines so i added a briggs 23.5 hp then added a weght box then a easy buck loader bucket. I added a used cab then wired lights 3 led and one in the reat with strobes. Theres a blade 54 inch which I'll be switching cylinders. Love your post
Yeah buddy!
This was very satisfying to watch after a few 🍺🍺🍺.
What are the lights on the dash telling you? 5:12
seat belt
Ffs this thing is impressive, especially considering how much gravel you carved into lol
I am so happy. I just got home and I see my snow blower. It was supposed to arrive on Thursday. I am so happy. We getting snow on Thursday. Did not open yet. But i am sure i will be very happy with it.
Did you keep it in 1st gear when plowing?? Were you able to let the moto shift??
It's a hydrostatic drive so no shifting required.
@stevenbarnesvermontfishing520 it's actually duel clutch transmission. Gear set is like a atv. But instead of hand clutch and pedal shift its done with shift solenoid and duel clutch systems
What boat launch is this
Benson Landing.
I bought a700-4 2014, plowed every year. Moved snow like a pickup. I am in upper Michigan. We get a LOT of snow. Never got hung up once. Never had a mechanical problem. Zero. Great machine. 👍👍👍👍😀.
Agreed!
Did ya ever learn t plow back up th hill
Sweet video awesome place to go fishing 🎣 😀.
Awesome any chance we can hook up and fish for pike
Awesome life in the hills I love snowmobile up in glover .
Love the machine I haven't used my polaris ranger for ice fishing yet .
Great video
Oo I forgot to comment 😅 are polaris ranger 1000 is very fussy in cold at times it takes a few minutes to fire off but awesome machine u have
I suggest a PVC pipe slit to fit on the the edge of the blade. You will plow without picking gravel.
Lower your skids or raise your blades the gravel is going bye bye
This was well planned 😮
Put a pipe on your cutter bar and you won't move so much of your gravel.
I’m impressed.
Never heard of plow is it something related to snow, I plough snow. With a snow plough its possible to move the snough. Silly eh.
Nice shots of the back of your heads can't see what you are doing
Put Rain x on your windshield helps.
I enjoyed your video, but it would’ve been perfect if it wasn’t for all the cussing
MERRY CHRISTMAS Thanks for sharing 🎅🤶🎄⛄🎁🌨️🥶❄️
Holy cow you guys got pounded. Glad you're safe, great vid! Death by 1000 cuts in 2022. Here's to a better 2023 O'
i could hear that rev limiter
Looks like your not running your wear feet. Put them baby's on and ull keep that expensive rock in your driveway
you need the front wheel 25#cast weights and the heavier 75# each or double plate up the rear wheel #50 plate weights or throw on a rear 3 point weight hitch or rear rock box. your other problem is your tire tread pattern, the original tires were great traction wise, the turf savers are designed to allow more slip to stop grass from being torn out, the next tread pattern below that is the garden dirt tread, and the next below that is the smooth ribbed tires. you want to install the new gator/4 wheeler tires or at the least the turf master tires with more tread biting edges. but really you just need about 100# more weight over the front wheels with turf savers and #200 more over the rears. upgrading to a more aggressive tread pattern decreases the amount of weight required by 50%. another thing i noticed is that my 445 AWS has F 6x7.5x8 & R 23x10.5" wide tires vs the front wheel steer only being 26" which is closer to your 24". the newer X series is alot heavier, but the AWS require narrower tires to be able to use that AWS action more contact with the ground equals greater stopping power but with out enough weight you float ontop of water&snow with out getting direct wheel contact with the ground thus greatly reduced traction, so more weight is the only answer until you compact the snow and water out of the way due to greater gravitational pressure due to weight forcing contact. another option would be to dual rear wheel hub your machine. that's how they do it at tractor pulls. tires matter, the turf savers will not hang a hill worse than your driveway that i mow, and put them on a stand up zero turn they don't hang any kind of slope, and lose traction trying to go up slight rises in a lawn even with a ton of weight on them. those are the economy tires made specifically for the cheap tin can tractor mowers or trailer/wagons and i see a turf saver on your front right, and you wonder why you can steer when you start immediately cranked hard all the way. i have a H3 140 and i love the left and right brakes as i can turn almost on a dime on iced up ground. i am talking a full 180 turn in about 1/5th the time it takes you just to turn your wheels hard right. that's what these brakes were designed for in snow and in dirt row cropping. your plowing technique needs work also. you know you're getting a ton of snow. we have been spoiled by the st helens eruption and it takes weather patterns 50 years just to get back to normal after an eruption according to geology for the last 4.5 billion years of earths history. the Hawaiian volcano also helped cause the drought, as evidenced this year in the midwest once again constant flow eruption changes jet streams as 4,500º molten rock heats up more of the air and earths surface faster than all of man kind combined for our entire history past and a good ways into our future. i suggest you start using the angle on the blade and start on the inside of your hill and push it out towards the drop, the faster you can go, the faster the snow will fly off the blade, i know you're trying to conserve gravel, but if that's your concern you should lift the blade up a finger width on the way down, and then you can push what remains against the uphill side with the blade down. it will also be easier to push that slight half inch remaining towards the hill with your traction issue. also stop getting class 5, next spring peel all that class 5 back high up onto the hill and get the rail road sized rock 1/2 fister stones, roller pack them, with a vibrator if you can and throw your class 5 back down on top and save more gravel with better traction. more snow will be allowed to penetrate deeper and refreeze thus locking your material together. this is how i built the power line roads from maine to niagra and from niagra to NYC thru the mountains for my dads company when they were creating the u.s. power line grid for the niagra mohawk sections. trenton falls new york, foot hills of the adirondaks over utica 1/3 of a mile long drive way over 3 creeks bridges around one pond and up hill grade about the same as your middle but at the top of my drive for the last 400 yards or so with that 140 H3 and the snow blower. 16"-2 feet 2-3x a week thanks to lake erie and ontario. so much frostbite i can get my hand chopped up or smashed and it doesn't hurt much.
What’s the point in having a that to plow when your driveway is so short? Haha. Great vid. Thanks for the content.
We’re did you buy yours at landair in Essex or central Vermont motor sports in Rutland im waiting on mine it’s been 4 months they keep telling me it’ll be the 25 of this month then it come o no next month!!!
I got mine at Central Vermont Motorsports in Rutland. I got fortunate that they had the exact model and color that I wanted already on order and coming in in just a couple of months. Keep the faith, it'll come.
Why not moving snow on your way back? Not here to piss anyone off, but my Dad always said; "never make a trip empty-handed", hahaha
What dealer did you pick up machine from?
I bought it from Central Vermont Motorcycles in Rutland.
Do you catch any fish":>?
Unfortunately, no. I was targeting spots that they tend to congregate around when the water is around 50 degrees. On this day the water was still up around 60 degrees. I was just rushing things a bit.
Wd40 don’t work for long. My grandpa used to spay down his big heavy steel snow shovels for me when I was a kid. Try Pam or wf1 wax
Yup she move a foot of snow easily I got one too! Lotta fun also...🤪🤪🤪😛😁👍 got a 73 JD 440 snowmobile too!
Yeah brother
