Hiking Guadalupe Peak Highest Point in TEXAS to celebrate 60th Birthday!
Просмотров 262 года назад
Hiked Guadalupe Peak for the first time to celebrate my Dad's 60th Birthday. Left school and drove straight to Pine Springs campground. The next morning the family joined me and we hiked up to the summit. Overall it was a great experience and I would highly recommend it! Be sure to reserve a spot at Pine Springs Campground as it is no longer first come first serve.

Ford Expedition Leather Seat Cover Replacement - The Seat Shop
Просмотров 24 тыс.3 года назад
The Ford Expedition now has 220,000 miles on it and has a lot of wear and tear on those seats. Our passenger seat was a little ripped up and it was time to put on a replacement. I ordered the vinyl seat cover replacement from The Seat Shop (www.theseatshop.com) and it was so easy to install. Looks great too! *Not a paid promotion. I just really liked the product and they are Texas based!*
Pop Up Camper Roof Rot Removal and Replacement
Просмотров 22 тыс.3 года назад
In this video I cut out a portion of a pop up camper roof and replace it. There was lots of wood rot on the back panel of this camper roof. I cut it out and replaced it, then fiber-glassed the seam. There are lots of ways to fix this type of rot, this was what I was able to do in my driveway on a cheap budget. Follow us on Instagram @Practical_Camper Happy Trails!

We Buy a Used Mennonite Church Bus!
Просмотров 545 лет назад
We buy a used church bus sight-unseen online and travel to Kansas to pick it up and bring it back to Texas. The van is a 2003 Ford Econoline E-450 with 203k miles and a 7.3L Powerstroke Diesel engine. We made it back and are ready to start the conversion process. We are not going to be living in it full time, but plan on taking it on vacations and weekend getaways across Texas.
Swimming in the San Solomon Spring at Balmorhea State Park
Просмотров 2895 лет назад
Beat the summer heat in West Texas! We travel through Balmorhea and decide to stop for a bit at the San Solomon Spring (Balmorhea state park). The pool was built by the Civilian Conservation Corp and is still a very popular place to relax in the summer months. It was just 10am when we went and it was already gearing up to be a hot day, but the pool water was nice and cool! If you're ever in Wes...

Today we visit Carlsbad Caverns National Park! This was great trip where we got to check out the caves at Carlsbad Caverns. It isn't too far of a drive from Practical Camper HQ to the cave so we took off one afternoon and we were in the caves by 9am the next day. If you go to Carlsbad Caverns you need to do some of the guided ranger tours. We did the Kings Palace tour, Lower Cave tour, and Left...

Best video about a porta potti ever!
Is it the 5355 coleman?
It used to be!
I spent a week in Minneola, KS === Biked to Dodge City and along Route 54. One day against and with a constant 31mph wind from the west I went 12 miles out and back. It was loud and slow starting out but quiet and fast on the return . No shade to speak of but not much traffic either.
Looks good!
Everything necessary to see done out of camera, couldn't see what I need to do in this video
Really more of a product review I guess than a step by step installation guide. Sorry!
Think im just gonna pull the rot from the inside, and fiberglass like you did but not touch the exterior.
You’ve got some pretty good skill level there. I have the same problem with an 05, but don’t know if I want to mess with doing all that it rains a lot where I live but I admire your dedication fixing that great job.
yes, i have this exact same issue on my dutchman! thanks for the video!
I laughed and laughed. hilarious
Pizzap only when it's Pequeños cesares though
😂😂 yes!
Imagine my surprise this morning when I woke up to find a new episode of the Practical Camper! And then it had such information too. I'm glad I Watched Now. I'm with the kiddo though, I think I'd prefer pizzap to those emergency rations.
Do you have a name/link? Cannot find it on Cabelas…..
It isn't a normally sold product at Cabelas. I just happened to find it in the bargain cave area. Maybe ask around at Cabelas/Academy to see what they do with their display tents when done! Happy Trails!
@@thepracticalcamper6326 thank u
once the fiber glass was sanded back, using some body filler and some textured spray paint like bed liner before putting the roof paint on would have helped a ton on smoothing things out. good part with these campers you can always go back and make things look better now that you fixed the underlying problem
Thank you for the great idea
I know it’s been a little bit since this video, just wanted to see how they’ve held up over the last little bit. Thanks!
They have held up really well! I actually sold the car to a neighbor and still see it often but the seat looks great!
Thank you for this video. I just bought the same camper and thought it was solid but just found rot on the roof ends the same as you. It was tremendously helpful to see how it's all put together before I dig into it.
Glad I could be of help! I don't know that this is the "right" way to do it but it works and isn't hard to source the parts. Make sure to keep up with caulking and that will help shed water, we lapsed a bit and it got us
FRP... I never knew what that stuff was!!! I think I'm gonna do some "spot" repairs on mine. I have a damaged corner of the roof and the back panel of the roof. I could cut off the bad sections pretty handily as I have the same cutter you used.
I think it's mainly for kitchen/bathroom walls, but it worked well for our camper
Is it possible to do this with out taking the seat out?
Probably, BUT would be MUCH slower and probably not as easy to smooth out
@@thepracticalcamper6326 went to a you pick salvage yard and got one off a wrecked expedition. I didn’t bring a star tool big enough to remove the seat. I was able to get the cushion off with out taking the seat out. When I got it home and put it in my truck I removed the seat to install. Agreed, it was easier to put on with the seat removed
This was so cute omg
Turn that frown upside compadre
Haha….so cute
📻 "Patch me through to McGarret " 📺 😉
I needed to know how to remove the set to replace the cover.
Hope this helped. 4 bolts and some wires
Why not some sort of pressure treated plywood? The factories could design something more durable. Its a shame that they make someone like you or me do repairs like that. Even if the wood was treated with some sort of deck/patio waterproofing it would be an improvement over the choices the factories made.
Some older popups had fiberglassed roofs. I think the Coleman style campers. All comes down to cost.
You’d think that after all this time, manufacturers would start using a no-rot, no-mold material instead of wood and chip board. It’s like falling off a motorcycle… wood rot isn’t a matter of if, but WHEN.

Great demonstration and explanation, encouraging voice tone and friendly, thanks for making this video.
I’m sure you e figured it out by now, but the small 110g (4oz) cans will last a 3-4 day backpack trip depending on how many boils you need a day. I only use those and top it off before each trip from a large can with the g-works gas saver plus. No need to take the large cans unless you plan on being out a week or more, and bonus the small cans will usually nest inside a small pot WITH the pocket rocket. Cheers!
I came here hoping to see how you got the top off? I cannot get mine off. Perhaps a little wd40 to the slots to lubricate so it will slide in its chambers to come off? I love my Coleman lantern. I have had it for over 5 years. But I find it flickers at times and I have to give it a knock to light up. I cleaned battery terminals. There was some corrosion there. But I just wanted to have a peak inside at top to make sure nothing up there was loose?
If I remember right the top just rotates counter clockwise off.
Good to know thank you.

Nice that you let him in at the end!! 😍
So does this thing have enough water pressure and water volume to flush the average turd? That little water pump sounded kinda lame. I'm considering this potty or the Camco premium 5.3 gallon.
So it has a ball valve at the bottom of the bowl. It just drops down, no need for power to push past an S trap like a normal toilet
Hook up your trailer. Get In your truck. Roll your windows down and cruise.
Florida Georgia Line is heard in Puerto Rico too. 👍💥
My rot is the left side, at both ends where threaded inserts for the latch hocks are screwed, middle section feels good. And sandwiched because inside panel fiberglass also.
Big fan of all the stickers featured in this video!
Same! Need to put them on the RTIC soon

...although I didn’t say fudge...
Just my luck, I'll buy the tent, and the cat will favor the box over the tent.
What model lantern is this?
I believe it is the Coleman Deluxe Twin Tube lantern.
You rock dude. I’ve got the same exact trailer but I like your ambition and skill. I’m just gonna sell it for low price and disclose what’s up.
Plenty of ambition, not sure about the skill. It doesn't look 100% but it has survived several rain storms now and doesn't leak! 😊
Logo looks great!
The Bed should be a futon.
👌🏻👌🏻☺️☺️😃😃😍😍
How does the electric-powered flush work in the long run? Is it better than the piston pump - any info on that? Thanks! 😊
Just for clarification, this has an electric pump that pumps clean water into the bowl, and a manual ball valve that dumps to the lower tank. Used it for the first time in a LONG time a month or so ago, and it has held up just fine. I was worried the batteries would corrode, or something would fail from not using it, but it fired right up.
Happy Anniversary!
Im getting one this weekend from Ebay i can't wait for it to come i like how the cat shows up great video. 😎
My cat loves being on camera. Check out my cat camping tent video, our cat has his own little tent.
How does the Honda Pilot handle towing? I am worried about buying because of the hitch weight at 360 pounds. That’s advertised weight. I am sure actual weight is higher.
Seems to tow well. This is my in-laws camper, so I dont personally pull it. But I put a weight distributing hitch on the trailer and it barely even squats that pilot. (2008 Honda pilot AWD) they've pulled it on several long trips with no issues. Their one complaint is that it does put a considerable dent in the fuel economy.
The Practical Camper had a feeling about the gas mileage as to be expected :). That’s for the reply
Dang rain! Bus worked well though?
Bus ran great. I've done some insulation that keeps the road noise down. Once its warmed up well it will run 70-75 on the interstate without much struggle. We were passing people in a bus, that doesnt happen much.
Hi new friend here thanks
They skipped the bathroom sink when the lower model has one. Not for my $$$.
I didnt think of the missing bathroom sink, which lower model has one?
Tf you need a bathroom sink for? Use the toilet
@@mikebronc2902 Not for my hands 😂 its a minor inconvenience but if someone is cooking using the main sink I don't like also using it as a hand washing station. But then again it is camping 😂
Nice video. Ty.
