Secretlab Dark Knight 2020 edition, this quick review is on the updated chair with the 2.0 PL material which is supposed to last longer and doesn't break down easily. I think that you should invest in comfort. I did and would do it again.

I got both and the 2017 ones i can confirm sound much better and are way more comfy ive had them for like 4 years now and have had no issues
The mute button is garbage on nova 7p. Only issue ive had. Play ps5 so mainly use controller for muting the headset and the mute button on headset is messed up. Beeps on and off like a loose piece or something so mic goes on and off. Other than that great headset
I have the 2017 ones and my brother has the 2020 ones and I’ve found the 2017 ones to not only sound better but they feel much comfier for longer gaming sessions and can be adjusted to be a lot bigger as the 2020 ones do not fit my head.
I got both and the 2017 ones i can confirm sound much better and are way more comfy ive had them for like 4 years now and have had no issues
I'm still using mix amp 2013 version 😆 with Pioneer DJ HDJ-2000MK2 and the difference vs the Astro headset is night and day

Glad to hear that you ordered yours, I was thinking about ordering the grey ones but I love the white color so I ordered those first, maybe in the future I will order the retro grey. I would like to get it before Sony releases the new PS5 Slim.

Sorry, to be honest with you I have never tried the Turtle Beach T.A.C. I did watch a video review of someone comparing them both. I believe they said that the Astro Mix Amp was a little louder, but don’t quote me on that. Thanks for the question.

The mixamp is not the best, you need a real amplifier/dac if you want a good volume experience. I just wanted to see the differences im not worried about loudness cause thats 100% mixamp fault i just wanted to know differences between gen 1 & gen 2 cause gen 1 is on sale for 19.99 😂
Gen 1’s is not as detailed in sound as the gen 2. Black Friday I saw the gen 2 was on sale for $19.99 at BESTBUY.

I would buy the gen 2 Astro A10 just because they look my appealing. And gen 2 Astro A10’s are not bass heavy like the gen 1’s are.
Loved the 2012 astro mix amp too bad it fell apart. Looking to pick this one up, hopefully it works with meze IEMs as I prefer earbuds.
People saying the system is too large have obviously never had a full sized PC sat on top ot under a desk. It's a none issue. The majority of the perceived size is due to the long shell casing - which isn't bad - but the difference brand case definitely looks sleeker and more compact in some ways. Besides, the ps4 wasn't exactly big by any stretch and actually got bigger with the pro versions, but it's big because airflow is the priority and rightly so because thst matters more than cosmetics - again, not to say the ps5 doesn't look bad - but a lot of what Sony has done is solid groundwork to then figure out what they can streamline and a lot of it tends to boil down to the power supply that occupies a decent portion of the console.

Yes the plates do improve cooling but a little bit. But even a little bit is better then nothing
Been wondering if the newer versions sound as good as the older version of the a40tr, sounds like you think they’re very close in sound quality, any big or noticeable differences? Or pretty much 1 for 1?
I don’t know which one you have but if you have the A40’s or the A10’s that I spoke about. You already have a good pair. If you are looking to upgrade to the new A10’s the sound is just ok. Not at loud as the older version and doesn’t sound the same. I have them. Just been busy working and didn’t post a review about them yet. I will soon. I do think the A10’s sounds better then the A40tr.

I just buy the astro a10 call of duty edition and the sound is great for the price I pay. I recommend this headphone if you don't have to much money but you want a good quality of sound

Hey man, I’m just a casual gamer who wants to play on PS4 PRO and iPad, I’m on a tight budget of 50, I’m able to find the 2017 for around 50 and the 2020 is for around 70, what should I buy?
I think that you should wait for the 2020 version to go on sale for $60 dollar if you can wait that long. corsair have the HS50's on sale every now and again for around $35 to $45 on, that's if you can't wait for the Astro's to go on sale. Hope this help. The Corsair HS50 have a different sound then the Astro's but I do think that either one is a great choice.

On PS4 I think the sound is mainly coming from the left side (Game audio, haven’t tried with party audio yet) Is this normal?
So I don't know if you are connecting this straight to the controller or using an Astro mixamp. First Try making sure that the cable connected to the headset is all the way pushed in. Then if you are connecting this directly to the PS4 controller, try using a different controller. The headphone jack might be bad. If neither one of them helped you then your headset just might be defective. Contact Astro and see if they can help you with the next step.

Sony had a deal some years back on these babies if you had purchased the PS Vita they were going for $100 flat but these are the new gold edition you have i noticed the new ports and features they added very nice !!!!
