#CongestionPricingDebunked (cleaner air…but for who?)
Просмотров 952 месяца назад
Cleaner air…but for who? Congestion pricing will actually WORSEN air pollution in the poorest parts of the city and surrounding region. It will do nothing to combat climate change, rather it will exacerbate the burden for the most vulnerable. That's been proven in the MTA's Environmental Assessment.
#CongestionPricingDebunked (the data speak for themselves)
Просмотров 2002 месяца назад
The MTA and other groups would like you to believe that #congestionpricing is necessary to fund the MTA's capital programs. That is a false narrative and the facts speak for themselves. The MTA doesn't need any more money that it will fail to save or spend responsibly. #CongestionPricingDebunked

In Order To Qualify For A Down Payment And Many Other Expenses In 2021 I Bout My First New Car Which Is A Ford Explorer From Hempstead Ford After Passing Road Test In 2020 And It Made A Difference No More Public Transit And More Freedom. Well on a good day instead of taking the train back, get off and walk a few blocks to Queensboro Plaza take the No. 7 train to Roosevelt & 74th street to get to the F train. It may cost you an extra fare from Queensbridge to the QB Plaza ( an extra block for Queens Plaza station) I think it will be faster that way than going back to mid-town and than switch trains to come back to Queens.

    This is just an hypothesis answer about the increased air pollution to the outer boroughs. There's expecting all of Manhattan's traffic that covers the financial district to midtown to take the BQE and all the highways of which won't be effected by congestion pricing. Example: If someone goes from Astoria, Queens to the financial district of Manhattan by private car, the drivers would aim to take the BQE and cross over the Brooklyn Bridge just to pay less instead of crossing over the Queensboro Bridge just to reach the same destination to the financial district.

    What do folks think of turning the Q10-LTD bus into the Q10-SBS? More details below: I propose running 24 hour all day frequent (every 7min every day from 3am until 11:30PM and then every 15min until 1am and then every 20min between 1am and 3am) Q10+select SBS buses stop only at Kew Gardens Rd and 80th Rd, Lefferts Blvd and Jamaica Av(for the J and Z trains and the Q56/proposed Q55 bus), Lefferts Blvd and Liberty Av for the A train(Q112/proposed Q57(f. Mar 2022 plan) bus), Lefferts Blvd and Rockaway Blvd(for the Q7 bus) and the final stop at the Lefferts Blvd Airtrain station. 5 stops in each direction. In conjunction with the Q10-SBS, bus lanes should be installed where feasible along Lefferts Blvd and between 135th Av and Pan Am Rd. This provides a convenient airport bus that has all door boarding, luggage racks and takes 20-25min. The Q10-SBS would replace existing Q10-LTD service. Q10 local service would remain along with the 130th St branch to provide service to residents of South Richmond Hill, South Ozone Park, Richmond Hill and Kew Gardens that do not care about a slower bus since they are not bound for the airport. The concept for the Q10-SBS is modelled after the M60-SBS and the Laguardia Link Q70 +select SBS. Granted this would require more buses. I think it would help to not have retired the perfectly functional Orion VII 07.501 HEV Next Generation and Old Generation buses to expand the MTA's bus fleet and add capacity.

    • @aquaillusiongirl
      @aquaillusiongirl 2 месяца назад

      Lefferts Blvd has many private homes and businesses, so this proposal would remove parking which is important for our area. This will mean more congestion on side streets. Q10 is an important bus for our neighborhoods and having it cut to five stops hurts the people who have a hard time walking longer distances to bus stops. Like the video showed the elimination of Q10 stops along 130th street will mean these riders have to go all the way to Jamaica station rather than going to Kew Gardens for one bus rider vs 2 or 3.

    • @roselbi8883
      @roselbi8883 2 месяца назад

      @@aquaillusiongirl Parking is important. Lefferts Blvd isn't wide enough to have a parking lane, bus lane and 1 lane of traffic except in a few sections in South Ozone Park south of Rockaway Blvd. The Q10+select SBS would supplement NOT replace existing Q10 local service along Lefferts Blvd in my proposal. Q10 locals would run along Lefferts Blvd and 130th St as they do today. The current Q10-LTD which does not run along 130th St would be rebranded as the Q10+select SBS with only 5 stops to reduce travel time between Kew Gardens and JFK as an airport bus. The Q10+select SBS will be a variation of the former Q10A route discontinued in 2006.

    Goodmoring sir that's a great video that you had made sir. The MTA needs to do better when it comes down to Bus service in Queens in certain areas in Queens Flushing and Jamaica there's alot of Bus service. But what Astoria or Far-Rockaway. Most of the Bus routes in these areas don't operate at night the Q-101 and Q-100 only run all night but the operate once a hour sir. If you live buy the Q-102 or Q-18 the Bus stop Running at certain time of the night sir now as for Far-Rockaway the Q-53 and Q-35 and Q-114 run all night. How are supposed make connection to lets say Mott ave Far-Rockaway to Q-53 after 1 am you can't Because the Q-22 dose'nt run all night also the Q-52 dose'nt run all night. It can take up 1 hour and half but wait and take A to Board Channel and you run to Rockaway Park Shuttle. And at night those trains take along time to show you sir.

  • @johnmoore7926
    @johnmoore7926 3 месяца назад

    Having the Q101 to stop going into Manhattan is a bad idea. Q101 is essential when transporting people to and from Manhattan and Astoria when hurricane Sandy knocked down the subway service as well as when the subways were slowly getting back into service or under reduced service on weekends and holidays.

    • @MagicMike-rd8mz
      @MagicMike-rd8mz 3 месяца назад

      Goodmoring the Q-101 should be running more often than it does and it should Extended deeper into Manhattan. Why not Extended York ave and 72 street by the Hospital in the Area to create one seat ride. Or just leave at 60 street but Extended the Q-101 to LaGuardia Airport then

    • @johnmoore7926
      @johnmoore7926 3 месяца назад

      No debate on the idea. Q101 has the potential to be like the Q32. There may be more eagerness to do the terminal at East 72 St. and York Ave. where NY Presbyterian Hospital than going into LaGuardia Airport. Q101 may compete with Q70 and M60 bus lines.

      I remember that time in 2004, MTA didn't have 100% control on the transportation as there was private bus companies such as Triboro Coach, Bee Line, Queens Surface, Green Line, etc., but they can only cover mostly Queens and small portion of the Bronx. Those private companies go into Manhattan as a courtesy and very little coverage there.

    I understand and agree with your advocacy for passenger and employee safety, but with all due respect, what more do you want Adams and Hochul to do? They’ve upped police presence, instituted random bag searches and fare gate patrols. They’re installing cameras on platforms and inside the cars albeit not fast enough for people’s liking. Short of patrolling the system themselves there’s only so much they can do.

    • @PassengersUnited
      @PassengersUnited 6 месяцев назад

      We're calling on Adams and Hochul to think smarter and deploy the police and national guard where they're needed-not at station entrances to conduct bag searches, but on the trains and station platforms to patrol them and help people in need, especially those who have mental health issues. We're also calling on our lawmakers to revisit and revise the laws around setting bail for repeat criminal offenders who continuously put everyday New Yorkers' lives and safety in jeopardy.
