It makes perfect sense to station some of our most highly trained soldiers stationed in Washington - and why not also show them off a little?
So these guys are elite combat soldiers as well?
Most of them are, but combat experience isn't required to be on the drill team.

Their Drill Master SFC Sprueil was my DSGT on FT. Benning back in 2000. He was just about as personable then as he is in this video. Loved that guy and would love to get in touch and see how he is doing. Anyone on here know anything about him?

You get used ARMY gear, you train mostly at ARMY forts via ARMY Cadre, you have very few Military bases, the biggest loss to the USMC is not death or retirement, it's branch switching out of the USMC, that E5 wall is a bitch. My 12-B OSUT is longer and harder then anything the USMC has or any other branch outside SF. I helped train some of the Marines at Fort Leonard Wood, when they got to us, 1/3 could not even set up a M18 correctly. I have many USMC brothers 7 family. USMC Lore is a No Go!
The Marines don't train harder and longer. That is a myth. And your PT test is easier. The minimum to pass is three pull ups, 50 sit ups, and a 28 minute 3 mile (fucking almost 9.5 minute miles... very slow). The Army standard is 42 REAL push ups, 53 SIT UPS (those are harder than crunches, just saying), and a 15:5-something 2 mile (I forget exactly how many seconds). So get off your high horse. We all train, and we all fight on the same team. Nothing against you guys, but YOU came off arrogant
The Marines have have an Aviation Combat Element consisting of Harrier jets, F/A-18 Fighters, and F-35B Joint Strike Fighters. The Marines train harder and longer. If you're in any other branch than the Marines, and you want to join the Marines, you must complete Marine Recruit Training. If you're a Marine and want to reenlist into another branch, you can w/o their basic training. I never said the Marines are better. Will someone just please explain everything to me about why the Army is better!
