Utah Division of Water Rights is an agency of Utah State Government within the Department of Natural Resources that administers the appropriation and distribution of the State's valuable water resources. In accordance with Chapter 73-4, Utah Code Annotated, and the Seventh Judicial District Court (Civil No. 810704477), the State Engineer is authorized and ordered to conduct a general determination of the rights to the use of all water, both surface and underground, within the drainage area of the Eastland Subdivision, San Juan River Division of the Southeastern Colorado River General Adjudication.

Thanks to the support of the state legislature, the Division of Water Rights has installed several new stream gages on tributaries to the Great Salt Lake. These new gages allow water commissioners to see measurement data in real time and assist them in shepherding water to its intended destination.
