Teaching in the US is awful. Stay away from Red States, they really pay awful and the have horrible working conditions. If I could turn back time, I would never have wasted my career on this profession.

Hi teacher Alvin, how about your Visa po? Is your Visa, a J1 visa po? Diba babalik ka sa pinas pag na expire na Ang j1 visa mo? Can you apply for an H1b or green card visa, while you're in J-1 visa? Kc mas maganda sana pag more than 3 years or permanent job na Yan sa US.

Teacher's are so lucky in the Philippines to have that basic salary grade. That doesn't happen for the nurses unless you work in Pubic hospitals. However, I dunno why nurses are paid more than teachers in the US. Both are tough and noble jobs. In Ohio nurses without experience starts @ 55-60 k a year without experience not to mention their differentials, bonuses, and overtime. Kudos to our Pinoy Nurses and teachers for serving the American community.
