Snorkeling The Bight Reef (Coral Gardens Reef), Providenciales, Turks and Caicos
www.jordanoutside.com/the-bight-reef-coral-gardens-providenciales-turks-and-caicos The Bight Reef, which is also known as the Coral Gardens, is an amazing snorkeling reef located right off of the Windsong Resort on Bight Beach. It extends about 350 feet from the beach and gets up to 15 to 20 feet deep at the far reaches of the reef. There is a conservation area that you can't go in, but snorkeling around the conservation area was still amazing. We saw stingrays, lion fish, parrot fish, alien fish, and all sorts of marine life.

So beautiful!
Thanks, I appreciate it. It was such a beautiful place to snorkel 😃
Thanks!!
No problem. Such a beautiful place to hike 😃
Very classy introduction to your channel! We share the same interests regarding travel and adventure. In September I'll be driving my RV cross-country (from home in WV to North Dakota). Going to have to stock up on memory/storage for that trip! You have a new subscriber. Thank you for the sub. I really appreciate you helping my channel to grow. Take care, and keep on vlogging!
Thank you! Your RV trip sounds amazing. Can't wait to follow your adventures!
I did that drive this past May. Saw the MDRS and the quarry. Also have some footage but haven't yet posted it. Great directions and well-done video! Stop by my channel and see what I've posted so far from that trip.😊
Thanks, such an amazing place to explore! Just subscribed to your channel.
@JordanOutside Thank you, Jordan, for the sub! I'm still learning, but very much love what I'm doing, from start to finish. I'm sure I can learn from what you're doing, as well. Take care.
Its "MAGIC" the sand appears and disapears according to the waves directions and size all the time.
So true, I didn't know that when we visited. So crazy.
Are you allowed to swim in the water here, in the sacred area as well?
They have lifeguards, but I wouldn't recommend it. The beach is made up of black rocks/pebbles that are big and small. When the waves crash you are getting hit with these. The day that we went had bigger waves. I don't know if somedays it is calm. The sacred area should be treated sacred. I'm not sure if swimming is allowed on that end of the beach.
Lovely video! Might you share what camera equipment you're using? Mahalo.
Thank you so much. I filmed the underwater footage with my GoPro Hero 11 and the drone footage with a DJI Mavic 3. Hope that helps 😃
@@JordanOutside Thanks, Jordan! Aloha.
Nice and very beautiful view
Thank you, I appreciate it 😃
Great video! Thanks for sharing. We are headed there in 2 weeks and this we must do. Thanks for all the attention to detail and directions.
Thank you! Have a great trip 😃
Beautiful video! Do you think 3 days is enough for a rental car? We have 8 days there? Also, should we bring our own snorkeling equipment? Thx!!
Thank you. We had a rental car for everyday we were there and we used it everyday to get to different beaches. If you like to explore, I would recommend having a rental car for all 8 days. Yes, bring your own snorkel equipment. It will allow you to explore each beach and it's totally worth it! I would also suggest buying some water shoes/booties that fit in your fins as there is a lot of coral on a lot of the beaches and it will make it easier to get into the water. Hope that helps 😃
Really appreciate the reply!! Thank you.
@@judiwolford1408 No problem. Have a great trip.
Where does the strong smell come from?😢
Sulfur is typically the culprit behind the strong smell often associated with hot springs. As water heats up deep underground, it dissolves minerals from the surrounding rocks, including sulfur. When this sulfur-rich water reaches the surface, it cools down. Sulfur compounds, like hydrogen sulfide, become less soluble and are released as a gas. This gas is responsible for the distinctive "rotten egg" smell. While sulfur is the primary culprit, other minerals and even bacteria can contribute to the overall scent of a hot spring. Hope that helps 😃
Really nice video for the beach and in the water! Nice camping beach. Two in our camping group got bit by something that left me with a dozen stinging & later itchy bites on neck, arms, stomach 😮. Other than that, would camp/hang out here again. The dark sand can get extremely hot in the summer.
Thanks, we didn't get to go camping there, but what a place to camp and explore for multiple days. Sorry to hear about your bites. Hopefully your felt better quickly.
Nice video, good job.
Thanks, we loved exploring here 😃
Aruba Jamaica ooh I wanna take you to Bermuda Bahamas come on pretty mama
ha ha, love it!
What camera did you use for this?
It was a GoPro. I think at the time it was a GoPro Hero 9.
Great video! I’ve been to Kona many times and you definitely covered most of the best beaches. There’s a couple of my faves that you missed tho. One is just north of Kona town, the Koloko Honokohau National Historical Park has an excellent sandy swimming beach with turtles, free admission and parking. Just south of that is Old Kona Airport Beach which has great tide pools and a long beach with picnic areas. Just drive down the old runway! Keauhou Bay Beach Park in South Kona is another nice spot with a small beach, kayak launch, and shady palms. Aloha! 🤙
Thank you so much! I love learning about beaches that we missed, so we can plan another trip back 😃
Is the drive from one viewing point to the next steep and have cliff drops? We only have 2 hrs and therefore thinking if we should just take the park shuttle and and view scenaries esp since we'll be there in july, busy season.
It took us at least 4 hours to see all 15 viewpoints. Some of the viewpoints are steep, but some are not. With only 2 hours you might want to take the park shuttle.
Thankyou for your easy-to-listen-to description. Well articulated, helpful descriptions. No drawing attention to yourself. Beautifully done, and lovely family. LouiseAustralia 🦘
Thanks so much! I appreciate it 😃
I love ur videos how detailed u are on how to get there

Awesome reviews. Thanks so much
Thanks! I appreciate it 😃
The snorkeling in T/C is some of the best in the Caribbean. Went to the Major coral reef that’s near this location to snorkel last year and it was amazing
I totally agree. Are you referring to Smith's Reef? That one is nearby and it was even better than this one. That video is coming soon. Thanks for the comment 😃
Such beautiful coral. I loved snorkeling around that reef.
I loved it too. The water was so clear 😃
Love this beach.
Me too, so relaxing 😃
Beautiful beach
Thanks, I totally agree. It was so fun to explore 😃
how beautiful
I totally agree, thanks 😃
Nice bro
Thanks!
would I be okay driving there in Chevrolet Malibu?
I would not recommend it. If you're going to go you want a car with higher clearance. We did see some people drive part of the way and then walk the rest because their cars couldn't make it.
I am here right now!!❤❤❤ beautiful island ❤❤❤
That's awesome! Such a beautiful beach 😃
Wow great beach!!! You may have just inspired our next trip 😊❤
The Exumas in the Bahamas are absolutely amazing. We loved renting a boat and going out to the different islands 😃
One of our favorites! We were closer to the other end of that beach and loved how shallow the water was!
Long Bay Beach was one of our favorites too! Such an amazing place to explore.
This was a really cool beach. Not crowded at all
I loved this one too! So beautiful.
Hi there i am thinking of buying this. It does not come with a charger to wall to charge the batteries? Like in a Dji mini 2 ? Thanks again for this video.
It comes with a charging cable, but it doesn't come with the brick that you plug the charging cable into to plug into the wall.
@@JordanOutside Thank you !!

Hello going there soon. Question do u have to make parking reservations?. And then hope on the shuttle with reservations?
You do have to make a reservation first on gohaena.com/. Reservations for the main parking lot go fast and are usually not available. You have the other option to pay to take the shuttle bus to the park. You don't have to pay for parking at the shuttle parking, but you do have to pay for the shuttle in advance. Hope that helps.
Thanks you. Very informative
Thank you! I appreciate it 😃
Who needs filters when we have Turks & Caicos 😍 dreamy!
Thanks Gillian! Dreamy is a great word to describe it for sure 😃
Hi! I was wondering where you purchased your snorkel gear! Love the detailed content ! This is so helpful thank you!
Thank you. I've been piecing my snorkeling gear together over the years. I originally just bought a cheap set. Then I replaced my mask with an OceanWays Dive Mask. Here's a review I did on it. www.amazon.com/vdp/05d4895d5c2f4be6b552313522f2e71d?ref_=aipsfvideo_aipsfjordanoutside&linkCode=ssc&tag=tifraru-20 They don't sell my fins anymore, but the equivalent of what I use is the Oceanic Viper 2 fins: www.amazon.com/OCEANIC-Suitable-Snorkeling-Lightweight-Comfortable/dp/B096PWNZW6/?th=1. I still use my old snorkel from my original set and that works fine. Hope that helps.
@@JordanOutside thank you so much I really appreciate you replying! I will order them!
@@marisashannon No problem. I'm so excited for you. You're going to love it there!
Thanks so much! We are really enjoying the snorkeling gear! My flippers didn’t come in in time but we brought the other gear to a local store and they showed us how to use it and told us we had great goggles! And they have been working perfectly! We checked out most beaches from your video! Thanks again!!! Really made our trip!
@@marisashannon I'm so happy you're having a great time. That stinks that your flippers didn't come in time, but having a great mask makes all the difference!
GREAT video. Well done!
Thanks, I appreciate it 😃
So amazing and helpful video! Planning to go there next May..Which are the best ones for snorkeling? At least the ones you loved more where you can see many different fishes.... In Ohau we love Shark's cove and Hanauma bay obviously...but we see there is a lot of marine life to see at Big Island too..thanks :))
Thanks so much. I would definitely say Two Step Beach and the Captain Cook Monument. I haven't been to Oahu yet, but when we do I'll have to check those out.
@@JordanOutside thank you!!!
amazing!
Thank you!
So pretty. The water is so blue 🏝️
Thanks Julie 😃
Thank you for these great videos! I'm such a huge fan of the work you did with the Exumas. Provo needs the same level of love and attention and you are doing it! Thank you for showing the world there is so much more than just the main tourist area of Grace Bay. It's also amazing how you show the logistics of how to find these places. This is such important and educational work to document all these lesser-known sites. One minor hope/suggestion: try to make all the videos a little longer since so many of these (like 1:48 here above) are just so short. At least a few more minutes...and I promise you no one will complain or think you are overdoing it. It's a gorgeous relaxing beach after all! In fact, some RUclipsrs show the very same beach shot looped for 3 hours and they still have tons of views. You will not only have happier beach lovers like me, but you will get more viewing time and ad revenue. Win-win. One lovely lesser-known beach area of Provo that you have yet to cover (I'm sure it's likely upcoming) is the northeasternmost area of this island (called the Leeward region) between Pelican Point and Emerald Point. Almost no one is here and it is just as good as Grace but without any of the overdeveloped highrises. PS. If you go to next-door Water Cay (which oddly is also called Pine Cay the more east you go but it's all one large island), you need a boat but Water Cay's large north coast is even more pristine than Provo and absolutely worth it. We docked somewhere in the very midpoint of the island for a picnic and wow. You have it all to yourself and it was the best part of our Provo-focused trip (North Caicos and beyond was a different trip). Very highly recommended. Keep up the great work brother and have a fantastic week!
Thank you so much! I appreciate the feedback on the length of the videos. I'm actually editing Pelican Beach right now up on the northeast side. This series will also include North Caicos and Middle Caicos. We were blown away with how beautiful all of these islands are! We didn't make it to Water Cay, but I guess that means we need to make another trip back 😀
@@JordanOutside You got it my man! I wish you the best. Btw, I just saw your newest videos and wish to reiterate my point about length for your own success. When a video is just 1-3 minutes, many people, myself included, feel cheated. We will even often dismiss it as not worth clicking on. Why? This is because we are watching ads that seem nearly as long as the content itself and many people are rightly bothered by this. I've caught myself surely skipping over watching many of your under 2-minute Hawaii videos for this reason...and I love beach videos more than most! Easy fix: make your videos at least 5 minutes. I'd say that for the vast portion of people on RUclips watching beach/nature videos, they are not watching just for the immediate logistics (logic-focused), but mainly to relax and enjoy the scenery (feeling-focused). So please let it linger. 5 minutes should be the very shortest! You lose nothing by letting it linger. Besides, more view time, more ads, more money for you. Win-win. 👍
Great beach 🏝️
I totally agree 😃, thanks Julie!
Nice, informative video. One question: Why are there bars on the windows and balcony?
Great question. The community felt safe, but there are some communities nearby that are really poor. We drove through one on our way home one day. I'm guessing they have the bars to prevent theft. That's just a guess on my part, but I don't know for sure.
@@JordanOutside Thanks for the quick reply. From videos and photos, I've noticed a lot of properties on St. Croix have bars on windows. Gives me a slight pause about public safety. Did you feel safe when you went off property?
@@scottfallon1 Yes, we felt safe. When we went grocery shopping the people were so friendly. We never felt in danger. That was our experience. I would definitely go back.
@@JordanOutside Good to know. Thank you. Again, great video.
@@scottfallon1 We are currently in St Croix. Been here for 5 days now. Felt safe the entire time.
