Snorkeling The Bight Reef (Coral Gardens Reef), Providenciales, Turks and Caicos
www.jordanoutside.com/the-bight-reef-coral-gardens-providenciales-turks-and-caicos The Bight Reef, which is also known as the Coral Gardens, is an amazing snorkeling reef located right off of the Windsong Resort on Bight Beach. It extends about 350 feet from the beach and gets up to 15 to 20 feet deep at the far reaches of the reef. There is a conservation area that you can't go in, but snorkeling around the conservation area was still amazing. We saw stingrays, lion fish, parrot fish, alien fish, and all sorts of marine life.

    Are you allowed to swim in the water here, in the sacred area as well?

    • @JordanOutside
      @JordanOutside 3 дня назад

      They have lifeguards, but I wouldn't recommend it. The beach is made up of black rocks/pebbles that are big and small. When the waves crash you are getting hit with these. The day that we went had bigger waves. I don't know if somedays it is calm. The sacred area should be treated sacred. I'm not sure if swimming is allowed on that end of the beach.

    • @JordanOutside
      @JordanOutside 4 дня назад

      Thank you. We had a rental car for everyday we were there and we used it everyday to get to different beaches. If you like to explore, I would recommend having a rental car for all 8 days. Yes, bring your own snorkel equipment. It will allow you to explore each beach and it's totally worth it! I would also suggest buying some water shoes/booties that fit in your fins as there is a lot of coral on a lot of the beaches and it will make it easier to get into the water. Hope that helps 😃

    Where does the strong smell come from?😢

    • @JordanOutside
      @JordanOutside 4 дня назад

      Sulfur is typically the culprit behind the strong smell often associated with hot springs. As water heats up deep underground, it dissolves minerals from the surrounding rocks, including sulfur. When this sulfur-rich water reaches the surface, it cools down. Sulfur compounds, like hydrogen sulfide, become less soluble and are released as a gas. This gas is responsible for the distinctive "rotten egg" smell. While sulfur is the primary culprit, other minerals and even bacteria can contribute to the overall scent of a hot spring. Hope that helps 😃

    Great video! I’ve been to Kona many times and you definitely covered most of the best beaches. There’s a couple of my faves that you missed tho. One is just north of Kona town, the Koloko Honokohau National Historical Park has an excellent sandy swimming beach with turtles, free admission and parking. Just south of that is Old Kona Airport Beach which has great tide pools and a long beach with picnic areas. Just drive down the old runway! Keauhou Bay Beach Park in South Kona is another nice spot with a small beach, kayak launch, and shady palms. Aloha! 🤙

      Thank you. I've been piecing my snorkeling gear together over the years. I originally just bought a cheap set. Then I replaced my mask with an OceanWays Dive Mask. Here's a review I did on it. www.amazon.com/vdp/05d4895d5c2f4be6b552313522f2e71d?ref_=aipsfvideo_aipsfjordanoutside&linkCode=ssc&tag=tifraru-20 They don't sell my fins anymore, but the equivalent of what I use is the Oceanic Viper 2 fins: www.amazon.com/OCEANIC-Suitable-Snorkeling-Lightweight-Comfortable/dp/B096PWNZW6/?th=1. I still use my old snorkel from my original set and that works fine. Hope that helps.

    Thank you for these great videos! I'm such a huge fan of the work you did with the Exumas. Provo needs the same level of love and attention and you are doing it! Thank you for showing the world there is so much more than just the main tourist area of Grace Bay. It's also amazing how you show the logistics of how to find these places. This is such important and educational work to document all these lesser-known sites. One minor hope/suggestion: try to make all the videos a little longer since so many of these (like 1:48 here above) are just so short. At least a few more minutes...and I promise you no one will complain or think you are overdoing it. It's a gorgeous relaxing beach after all! In fact, some RUclipsrs show the very same beach shot looped for 3 hours and they still have tons of views. You will not only have happier beach lovers like me, but you will get more viewing time and ad revenue. Win-win. One lovely lesser-known beach area of Provo that you have yet to cover (I'm sure it's likely upcoming) is the northeasternmost area of this island (called the Leeward region) between Pelican Point and Emerald Point. Almost no one is here and it is just as good as Grace but without any of the overdeveloped highrises. PS. If you go to next-door Water Cay (which oddly is also called Pine Cay the more east you go but it's all one large island), you need a boat but Water Cay's large north coast is even more pristine than Provo and absolutely worth it. We docked somewhere in the very midpoint of the island for a picnic and wow. You have it all to yourself and it was the best part of our Provo-focused trip (North Caicos and beyond was a different trip). Very highly recommended. Keep up the great work brother and have a fantastic week!

We didn't make it to Water Cay, but I guess that means we need to make another trip back 😀

      @@JordanOutside You got it my man! I wish you the best. Btw, I just saw your newest videos and wish to reiterate my point about length for your own success. When a video is just 1-3 minutes, many people, myself included, feel cheated. We will even often dismiss it as not worth clicking on. Why? This is because we are watching ads that seem nearly as long as the content itself and many people are rightly bothered by this. I've caught myself surely skipping over watching many of your under 2-minute Hawaii videos for this reason...and I love beach videos more than most! Easy fix: make your videos at least 5 minutes. I'd say that for the vast portion of people on RUclips watching beach/nature videos, they are not watching just for the immediate logistics (logic-focused), but mainly to relax and enjoy the scenery (feeling-focused). So please let it linger. 5 minutes should be the very shortest! You lose nothing by letting it linger. Besides, more view time, more ads, more money for you. Win-win. 👍

    Nice, informative video. One question: Why are there bars on the windows and balcony?

    • @JordanOutside
      @JordanOutside 18 дней назад

      Great question. The community felt safe, but there are some communities nearby that are really poor. We drove through one on our way home one day. I'm guessing they have the bars to prevent theft. That's just a guess on my part, but I don't know for sure.

      @@JordanOutside Thanks for the quick reply. From videos and photos, I've noticed a lot of properties on St. Croix have bars on windows. Gives me a slight pause about public safety. Did you feel safe when you went off property?

      @@scottfallon1 Yes, we felt safe. When we went grocery shopping the people were so friendly. We never felt in danger. That was our experience. I would definitely go back.

      Hi Rhonda, Yes kids can go accompanied by an adult if they fall within the height ranges. This page has all the info and you could reach out directly with more questions: rainforestadventure.com/package/the-big-three-full-experience/ Hope that helps 😃
