Thanks for the awesome video. Would it be possible to keep this charger connected to the battery continuously so it charges while your driving? Then only unplug it when you get to camp and hook it to solar?

Have one and love it. Won't self destruct when I sit in it.

I've found that the compressed sawdust bricks burn cooler, but a good bit longer as a result. Good for loading up the stove before bed

You're not running the solar thru the controller but straight to the battery along with the AC charger?

I place a clay tile in mine and then preheat, then leaving the tile in place I then place my pan of biscuits to bake. the tile helps regulate the temp on a windy day.

I have a couple of the 5 watt version and absolutely love them...I do wish they were cheaper though. Battery life is Wonderful.

I use the same seat on a bucket, but put "poo powder" in the bag, which gels all of the contents in to a semi solid cluster. That takes care of the urine problem. Then we use the screw on bucket lid to contain the odor. Then dispose of ot as usual.

Got this a couple of years ago, never took another stove on multi day hikes again. No brainer way to make a good weight and space cut.

I would use the XT60 or XT30 for my charge cable since they are as cheap as SAE cables are are able to handle rather overkill currents (60 amps and 30 amps respectively).

Do you think the three kitties are a mom and two adolescents? It seems odd to see three full-grown cats together. 😮

Personally, I think I would have found a board that fits nicely behind the battery, that would act as a spacer so you wouldn't have to cut out the webbing in the lod, and the you could mount your fuse block to it, without possibly needing to drill holes to mount the board. Then if you could find other pieces of wood or fairly stiff closed cell foam to keep battery in place (I know you mentioned putting a hold down strap for the battery. I had to rewind how you used the wire stripper...I think it is opposite of how I would use it, BUT maybe the way you did it, is the best, you aren't dragging your parts that cut into the insulation across your copper (that could nick your copper, and dull the parts intended to cut through the insulation. Nice build! I hate to drill holes in a waterproof box, but to do what you are, unavoidable, maybe make all holes as high as possible incase box gets partially submerged in water. I have some of the rigid boxes and I think they are my box of choice (quality/price).

So what is the current height off the ground of your tent? In regards to the ladder issue.

You should try the BCB Fire Dragon stove. Folding like the Esbit but with a wind screen and alcohol based fuel. Also, from what I have experienced is the gel tabs burn hotter. If you are looking for different sized gel tabs you are out of luck though for they one size only. And yes the stove is slightly larger than Esbit.

I love Esbit. I always use aluminum foil as a wind block. Weighs nothing and folds to fit. Have to have a wind block w/these cubes. Also, you are much better off with a flatter type pot with a greater circumference. Having your water 3 - 4 inches deep is much better than 5-6 inches deep like when you use a Stanley pot. This is a great system.....you just have to use it to its strengths and not its weaknesses. Can use it anytime but best use is in mild temperatures and light to no wind.

I wonder if there's a difference in what you can cook. The Coleman seems better for traditional recipes (baking bread, cake, brownies), the Omnia can do those but the shape means you need to be more creative.

I got those same rakes (small + large versions) I bought probably 4 years ago for motorcycle camping…. LOVE EM!!!

The coleman 100%

Coleman oven, I bought an older steel one on ebay about 12 years ago. My thought was it would be heaver, but it would hold temps better then the newer aluminum ones. My faves: Peeled and Diced Potatoes Placed in a heavy duty foil pouch with a little water. Easy side dish! Shake & Bake Chicken legs when camping. Foil baked onion with butter, beef bullion cube. Peel the onion and makes cuts in the top almost all the way through the onion, work in some beef bullion and a bit of butter. Then wrap in foil and bake. What I have seen other Coleman oven users do my travels : An older guy pre makes burritos, or just uses store-bought burritos. He brings them on his trip, wraps them in foil and heat them up in the Coleman oven on top of a Coleman stove while camping. He just brings the stove, the oven foil and his coffee pot. Talk about a minimalist Another mostly full timer I ran into still uses an old coleman fuel stove. He baked cup-cakes twice a week using the pre packaged mixes like blueberry muffin mix. His oven holds the 6 hole cupcake pan with enough room on the side for 1 small muffin pan. He uses the cupcake liners to make cleanup easier. He fills the cupcake tin first and pours any extra into the muffin pan. On short trips I do not bring the camp oven or a two burner stove in the Adventure truck. In my adventure truck I carry the Firebox (box stove, butane burner, box pot w/stone) and I carry the firebox cast iron 5-way cookset. I can do a bunch of different things with it cooking wise. the square cook stove, burner, boxpot, and small butane canister all nest in a small cube. Between this and the small firebox pan set I can cook a lot of different things including cinnamon rolls. How is that for a first comment? Roger

Took one on my trip to Alaska recently and all I had for my cleanest water supply was nasty brown beaver bog water for a week and I will say I'm impressed water was fairly clear still had a slight brown tint to it but taste was great and best of all I wasn't sick

Great ideas guys thanks. One thing I did to my Revel to sort of "warm up" the space is I got felt tiles from Felt Right. they just stick on and i did the whole bathroom door ( outside) the wall behind the bench seat and the upper walls of bed area. It adds a little softness to the space

This is the tent I bring on the rare occasion the wife backpacks. It has a lot of interior pockets for storage. I would prefer a rectangle interior but it has plenty of room for 2 25 inch wide pads.

Great idea on the bigger gauze pads! I just threw a much bigger gauze pad and a roll of Coban in my first aid kit. I saw another video where a gentleman recommended bringing a light ankle brace. That’s a good idea too.

If you think it's a problem that you can't get a hand inside the bottle to clean it, then you need to take a more aggressive chemical approach like adding in bleach or vinegar to your soapy water
