I guess fans are in the wrong for not liking Firefly's cancellation and I guess they were "rabid annoying fans" for making petitions, pleading with the actors and company to make a season 2. For once think of this is as a business perspective because guess what? RUclips is a business even back then. Us fans are going to be upset, a simple question about a reunion shouldn't be this taboo to talk about. you see it all the time in conventions. If they stopped filming together for serious personal reasons then just say so. "they aren't friends anymore" just makes it worse for the fans, it causes speculation which starts rumors. They needed some PR advice because they did it all wrong and poor Woolie is the "spokesperson" for the dead channel now.

So you were 15, so not the most reliable narration. You were behind him for a while, maybe that was noticed, I know I hate when folks linger behind me for while without saying anything when you they’re probably watching you good intentioned or not. You didn’t even like the guy and you asked for a picture, amongst the many people in his life who ask for pictures (first time for you, but maybe hundredth or thousandth total for him in general since being on RUclips), so who knows the vibe or how it was asked. And after all that, when he might’ve been tired or who knows what, he still gave you a picture……Eh I’m not saying it’s impossible he was “unpleasant”, but that’s not the take away from the story. Especially when it’s common for people with a following even the nicest people to have stories of someone claiming they were an asshole to them because they weren’t 100%. Especially when we know the dude has RBF. Hell we don’t even know where you saw him.

The explanation was more transparent than most. Matt and Pat are no longer friends. I remember even other RUclips folks like the dudes at OneyPlays, DingDong and Julian praised them for being so open with the situation. This comment is the equivalent of getting a nude pic from someone but being like “….but you didn’t put the camera INSIDE your butthole”

Disrespect doesn't have to be intentional; often, unintentionally disrespecting someone hurts them more. Woolie’s response here is very calm and reasonable, being essentially "No, we all have to move on from SBFP." Twitch chat is Twitch chat; they're going to always act too fanatically, but that's a problem caused by the nature of that beast; it's not really something you can solve; just ignore and/or see where it comes from.

@@Eidlonesit’s not that, the explanation of “we’re just not friends get over it lolz “ after a decade + of content and in the middle of multiple LPs was weird and out of context. I don’t even expect or want a reunion like some of these people, unless it was something Matt and Pat wanted. I think it’s only natural that people are going to inquire about what happened since they were given next to nothing on why the split occurred.

Ditto. We realized way too late Woolie and Pat was the best combo the who,e time for LPs. Never mind that snailborne shit, I don’t care for watching souls games anyway.

Might be too close to it. Not for enjoying the content for missing it, but for being insulted that they moved on.

I think what bothers them is the implication that what they’re doing now, that makes them happier than they were, is less valuable to old fans than their old stuff. It’s nobodie’s fault, people became fans from the old content and so it shouldn’t be taken as an insult when they expected more of why they showed up. It’s like if McDonalds stopped selling burgers and shifted to burritos. It may be a fantastic burrito, but people are gonna miss and ask about the burgers that until now built the franchise to begin with. I still watch Woolie and Pat regularly, and I enjoy it, but I still watch the old channel more than either of their current stuff. CSB is still strong, but the stream format doesn’t appeal to me like the pre recorded content did, and you can’t really replace the lightning in a bottle that was their four personalities in a room together. Regardless of how they felt personally about one another, they were an exceptional act together and it’s a shame we lost out on more of it going forward.

@malikoniousjoe I think you hit the nail on the head with that analogy. I'm much the same with their current content. Old videos and CSB are just about all that's worth sinking time into for me anymore. Not that they're bad to watch, but as you said, streaming doesn't have the same appeal and takes a lot of time, and Matt's current content feels WAY too produced. I just hope they don't fade completely into obscurity through all this.

There was nothing toxic about the person asking the question, nor about anyone asking any questions. Ironically it's people like you who are the toxic ones.

Clearly it got to the point where they didn’t see fit to keep the business going. The business ended. Being curious what happened ain’t the problem. It’s the sense of entitlement of knowing the personal details that’s toxic. Imagine you’re being asked the same question every day, despite the obvious vibe.

Cry harder that someone asked a question to your fav content creator, and the poor content creator with the easiest job on Earth got annoyed. If I was asked constantly I would just ignore the question. Easy fix; I wouldn't bawl my eyes out on stream.

They played SF6 against each other on their streams around release (before Rashid I believe) and Pat just called in to give Woolie/Reggie the BG3 breakdown/flavor text and all the good stuff. Reggie even blended someone before Pat finished advice and caused hella laughter

I mean they talk every week together on the CastleSuperbeast Podcast and occasionally Pat pops into Woolies stream. So I wouldn't act like they don't do ANYTHING together anymore. if anything i'd say we actually get plenty of Woolie/Pat content considering they don't run a channel together or anything.
