Thank you so much for this tutorial, but I have a few questions: 1. I'm assuming you are running this in a VPS for security reasons? I probably should not port forward on my own router right...? 2. Will hosting this proxy automatically allow signal users to connect without a link, or do I have to share the URL people to access my proxy? Where would a good place to share the URL be so people without signal access can use my proxy? Thank you!!
@@CartwheelPig I used a VPS because everything is just simpler to setup. Yes, it's also safer, but my main concern would be sharing bandwidth with other people. As far as I know, you'd need to share the address with people for them to be able to use it. The media will depend on which public you want to reach. I would try to reach locals on mainstream social media and allow them to spread the word.

Hey I can't fix this error that pops up after terraform apply: Error: Error getting plans: json: cannot unmarshal number 7.5 into Go struct field Plan.plans.monthly_cost of type int │ │ with data.vultr_plan.cheap_plan, │ on main.tf line 11, in data "vultr_plan" "cheap_plan": │ 11: data "vultr_plan" "cheap_plan" { I seem to do everything according to the guide, but still this error appears.... I use vultr hf 6$ per month Ubuntu 20.04 LTS x64 server
@@rxxlxnx4895 It is possible this recipe is outdated. The vultr API might have changed and the provider is no longer able to do the work, for instance. I'll try it later and upload an updated video. BTW, vultr might not be the best place for this setup anymore since they are now using some bandwidth restrictions to stop abusers that are straight bad for VPN users too.

@@rxxlxnx4895 I think Digital Ocean and Linode are still good enough. You'll still have a traffic cap. Oracle cloud is great if you can get one of the free tier machines.

La mayoría no tiene una ubicación en específico, va a decir sólo el país. El que está específicamente en algún lugar, lo dice.
@@jadolg si pero en ese caso tendría que agregarlo al cliente para saberlo, te preguntaba para saber si había una forma de saberlo sin tener que agregarlo al cliente

@@jadolg thanks for your reply I want to bypass all connection of shadosocks to China from a HK server is that possible And let's say I have 5 china Servers and one Hongkong is it possible to pass all China IPs from HK node
I'm not sure pure shadowsocks is still effective in China. I've read here www.reddit.com/r/outlinevpn that servers are blocked in less than 24h.
