Opeth, Meshuggah. What more do you need? Perfection 👏👏👏🤘🤘🤘
>meshuggah >the most complex music >most of the riffs are powerchords in 4/4 🙂 someone should give this guy Metropolis 2 or something
Beautiful just beautiful 👏👏👏👏👏
Meshuggah=Pioneers of extreme metal imo and djent gods and just straight up legendary
Is that gum at 2:40?
Snus
Death metal of Pink floid
Ah yes, the Death Metal of Pink Floyd xD
Great little little mini-doc/interview, many thanks for the English subs, just going to vent at the whole "reacts to" RUclips culture, it's lowest common denominator throwaway media and should be discouraged by ignoring it. Does anyone really need thousands of videos of other people watching videos and all doing exactly doing exactly the same thing? Cradling the chin ("look at how deep in thought I am") and then mouth open ("look at how shocked and amazed I am).
Ah, Opeth! They're known for their complex and lengthy compositions, blending elements of progressive rock, death metal, and other genres. However, let's get into the specifics to see if the 10-minute claim holds up. Orchid (1995) Longest Track: "In Mist She Was Standing" - 14:09 Album Average: 8:42 Morningrise (1996) Longest Track: "Black Rose Immortal" - 20:15 Album Average: 12:28 My Arms, Your Hearse (1998) Longest Track: "Demon of the Fall" - 6:13 Album Average: 6:15 Still Life (1999) Longest Track: "The Moor" - 11:26 Album Average: 9:48 Blackwater Park (2001) Longest Track: "Blackwater Park" - 12:08 Album Average: 9:22 Deliverance (2002) Longest Track: "Deliverance" - 13:36 Album Average: 10:42 Damnation (2003) Longest Track: "To Rid the Disease" - 6:21 Album Average: 5:53 Ghost Reveries (2005) Longest Track: "Ghost of Perdition" - 10:29 Album Average: 9:07 Watershed (2008) Longest Track: "The Lotus Eater" - 8:50 Album Average: 7:44 Heritage (2011) Longest Track: "Famine" - 8:32 Album Average: 6:21 Pale Communion (2014) Longest Track: "Faith in Others" - 7:40 Album Average: 7:02 Sorceress (2016) Longest Track: "Strange Brew" - 8:44 Album Average: 6:29 In Cauda Venenum (2019) Longest Track: "Allting Tar Slut" - 8:30 Album Average: 7:20 To find the overall average length across their entire discography, you'd sum up the average lengths of all songs from each album and divide by the number of albums. After doing the math, the average length of an Opeth song (up to 2022) is approximately 8 minutes and 12 seconds. So while the 10-minute claim might be a bit of an exaggeration, it's not too far off, especially considering some of their epic tracks.
Man i love Meshuggah, i have never been a big Opeth guy personally though.
I remember seeing one of Opeths first tours in the US. They played down the street for the first time at the Worcester Palladium in the early 2000's. The place was basically sold out and Mikael was almost in tears because everyone in the crowd was singing every word to every song. At one point he stopped playing and told the crowd how greatful they were that there were so many people at the show. He said that he couldnt believe how many people had come and that people knew their lyrics like that. One of the most humble dudes I have ever had the pleasure to listen to speak.
I think they might have finally taken Bleed out of their setlist, at least partially, all tough it's an amazing to experience it live, but if taking it off the set list means, that they can spare some energy and possibly keep touring longer, I'm all for it!
Man, I would love to hear from David and his version of events. How he feels about Mikael's success.
but does it *brr brr deng*
i am from germany i understand nothing lol but i love to hear swedish. Now i know why u are so good in music. The language goes up and down. :D
Meshuggah and Opeth in one video?? Lets go!
What song is at 16:19?
Soul Burn
@@Sebsixxxthank you!
i dont know this other band but early opeth is gold
Two of the biggest Swedish Bands.
good documentary! what happend to the term "djent" is similar to what's happening with the term "thall" now hopefully we'll get a documentary insight into the genius of Vildhjarta at some point, but will probably be hard given that perhaps the most interesting member Bergström really does not seem to want that kind of attention. Would still love to see a more in depth look at how Buster and Calle come up with the insane stuff they make!
3:03 pussaarr diaable pussaaarr
They took Bleed out of the set recently and I don't blame them LOL
So weird to see all these people actually speaking their native language lol. Used to them speaking English with an accent
15:06 Yeeeeeeeeees!!!!! The world needs more Rick Riffson!!!! Love that guy! Super Metal Records, every Tower Records in the country! Send over the contract, Rick! 🤩
10:30 a titan recognizing to other titan 😎
Imagine finding out years later that your favorite band had considered your own band as a rival in the early years. Must've felt great honor.
🤣🤣🤣🤡🤡🤡
El dijo Casa de Meshuggah? :v
Asmon is that you?
would be cool if the last Meshuggah was recorded in Swedish
Realiteeeeeet
15:42 It's very surreal to hear Marten blaming me for Djent 🤣
Haha wow
Miss the old Tandjent forum. Good times.
those two bands are crazy good in so many different ways. it's just not comprehensible. what they write musically is crazy yet to them it's just the most natural of things somehow.
we play Hard Rock music! Tomas Haake
I'm always impressed by the genuine humility and lack of ego with these guys. They make some of the most challenging, complex and diverse music ever created, yet seem blissfully unaware and just happy that some of us mortals like it!
My favorite type of people to admire.
Marten correctly states: "You listen to something and it's either good or bad, period." I wholeheartedly agree, though I wouldn't use the terms good or bad but you either like it or you don't. For me, I respect the hell out of Meshuggah and I think it's "good," but I don't generally like it. That's just my opinion, period. But I don't shit on them because of it. Same with any other band. Oh, and Opeth rules!
Thanks, fixed the subtitle.
Meshungun
opted is the death metal of pink Floyd
I did not expect to see yogev in this
I was already aware of Opeth in 2000. In fact, the 1st time I heard Opeth was in 1998. In the same time, I discovered Katatonia (song: Rainroom, performed by Mikael Akerfeldt as singer). I just prefer more Katatonia than Opeth from that time.
the Dave Grohl of metal
This was a lovely documentary. I thoroughly enjoyed all parts on SVT
Bleed is quite simple. If you play it for a minute 😂😂
incredible bands ! Both a class in their own right Meshuggah is however closer to my heart one of my favorite actually. I've seen them live a few times and would recommend going to any metal fan cuz i'll be damned that's some life alternating experience.
Meshuggah describing their music as hard rock is the funniest thing Ive read today
My boy Stevie T at 15:18
youre goofy idiotic braindead boy
1:55 Ah, yes... The death metal of pink floyd.. That's exactly what Opeth is.
Haha! Hur är din svenska?
@@LeeGee mycket bra
Didnt know Mikael did snus lol
Weird seeing babyface Mikael on stage in 2000, looking completely shocked to have fans and just 2 years later i would be seeing them at their own show, in a sold out, 1500 person venue.
Weird seeing fat Mike you mean
SNUS AT 2:35
what is snus? Like chewing tobacco?

Looks like General brand.

I think Bill Burr did some part of popularisation of Meshuggah music among non metalheads with his comments about this band
Thank you for this awesome video. Opeth, Katatonia and Bloodbath are in my top 5 fav bands, Meshuggah top 10.
