How can you be a officer if you dont know the map , you need experience to learn the map and how to play . Yes i am the leader of tactics in warthunder and World of tanks clan battles . I have no idea of how to lead in this game

The reload rate for this game is historically inaccurate. The average foot soldier was trained and expected to fire three aimed shots in a minute.

I've been playing Total War games since the first iteration of Shogun and this is one of my favourites in the series. To be fair I'm one of those who prefers the historic titles over fantasy. The thing I think most critics of TOB miss is that it's not supposed to be a full version like the ones they compare it to. The whole point of the saga games were that they were supposed to be compact titles for release between the main titles, so it shouldn't get knocked for not having the polish of a full title.

I feel they dropped the game too quickly to focus on warhammer. It's a shame because this game has so much potential, it's a really awesome game. It reminds me of shogun 2 but with the english. I just hope we get a war of the roses mod someday!

Honestly ToB and Atillas have the best battles imo, and I enjoy the battles more in total war rather than the campaign map

That's a fair review. I just picked this up in a sale and, fwiw, I rate this as one of the best in the historical series. No OP army killing single entities - check No OP hero units - check No OP agents - check Interesting mechanics for recruitment, technology, subordinate loyalty, and province development - check, check, check and check But above all, the seige battles, so often buggy, dull and repetitive, are absolutely sublime. IMO the best in the series by a country mile. I am looking forward to many hours of engagement with this game.

Best mod for Rome 2 for me! I played DEI and Radious for example. DEI took to long in various aspects + minor faction unit roster is pathetic & Radious felt to ez or lets say it dont pushed me to plat another campagin

Any idea of unit cards for Radious mod? I see that PRABELLUM use BULLGOD units cards. Radious have something similar but is incomplete!

I've played a lot of this mod and vanilla. I recommend the mod. It would be hard to go back to vanilla. But there are downsides to it that are really frustrating (apart from the performance issues), and vanilla is superior in some respects. It's supposedly modular, but almost all of the substantial changes- good and bad- are in the same file, so you can't just ditch the frustrating things. Because the time scale has been made more granular, a lot of the changes are designed to slow you down, so that you don't just conquer Europe in ten years. That's why the buildings are so expensive, for instance. But once you've built up momentum, those changes don't really make the game any harder. But they do exacerbate a problem that all total war games already have- all of the difficulty is front loaded. One thing I really liked about vanilla Rome 2 is that there was more than one way to win a war. You could attack the enemy head on, but economic/guerilla warfare was a viable strategy too. But the new supply/attrition rules mean that raiding enemy territory hurts you more than it hurts them. In fact, it doesn't really hurt them at all, since the way they made the mod harder was by removing the computer-run nations' food and money upkeep requirements. They don't even bother to build farms or economic buildings. They just load up on buildings that increase the size of their garrisons, so every computer settlement is defended by a full stack even before they bother to send in any armies. The omens rules just make the early game harder. Their effects are negligible in the mid to late game. The war weariness rules are just frustrating and silly. And the supply and logistics rules are a good idea, but the way they're implemented doesn't make much sense (and the computer forces aren't affected by loss of supply, of course). You can't supply your units when they move through your own client states, and if you change leaders the army's supply drops to zero. On top of that, there are so many ways to take attrition losses that you'll lose ten times as many troops to attrition than to combat. Which isn't even unrealistic, necessarily, but since you have some control over the losses you take in combat and the losses due to attrition are sometimes unavoidable, it makes you wonder why this is a wargame and not just a disease simulator. Realistic /= fun.

I already bought the game and am here for the tips but I’m really excited for this game, when they added the endless mode and the Steam score shot up to Overwhelming Positive I knew I had to get it. The devs are also so happy with the success they’re going to be adding free content for the next year at least so that’s awesome. They actually listened to the players in early access, it seems, which is I’m happy to see them rewarded for.

War of rights has a brotherhood of players that reminds me of no other game except maybe the early days of red dead online when there wasn’t much to do besides the daily challenges and you pretty much rolled around with your online boys. If you think you might like this game you will probably love it and if not just refund it.

Bought it on sale in Steam and have 0 regrets, it's definetely not a game for everyone, cause many people would dislike the food system and whatnot. It's not like the classic Medieval 2 where you just can recruit and build stuff and attack without much thinking, here you have to be very careful specially at the beginning to not fuck it up with food and money. But other than that, I would say is a great game, highly recommended and I just wish someone would make mods for it. Some War of the Roses mod could be great here for example, since is the map of the british isles and you have the "invasion" mechanic which could trigger an invasion of Henry Tudor with some french mercenaries.

That game is racist

It’s a seriously fun game. Sure, like any other TW title, at a certain point you are unbeatable. But, that’s where the individual creativeness comes in. I like big battles and big units, while yes shieldwall mod makes it far more realistic to the time period and army sizes of the time, I still like big battles. So I took the basic gist of shieldwall and only had a select few thegns and the even better units, as a royal retinue sort, reserved for the king, heir, and war master (council type of title). The rest were Fyrd units. Mostly spearmen. Yes, a lot of the time they would be chewed through as the AI certainly did not make armies like that, the best of the best, especially the raider factions coming ever so often. It was still really good fun and is great to jump in for a few weeks of campaigns and jump out a while. It is very replayable. Some of the best sieges a available. The Briton factions stronghold maps are the best to defend. Attacking is meh, they don’t utilize the map, by the time you’ve gotten a foothold beyond the walls, their army is all gone. Add the realistic names/language mod, makes it even better for some odd reason. Sure, it’s hard to discern what the fuck you’re looking at, just use the stats to see the differences. Overall I would recommend this to any and all who have the slightest interest in it. The sound design is a bit of a treat. The unit selection, the chanting that starts when armies are getting closer to the other. S tier sound design
