No - The Messerschmitt is own by EADS - a huge european aerospace organisation and has home at Flugmuseum Messerschmitt (Messerschmitt Stiftung) near München. There exist only very few Bf (Me) 109 mounted with the original Daimler-Benz DB-605 engine. The plane itself is not quite original as it is licence build in Spain in 1950. The plane have participated in the famous movie The Battle of Britain and has crashed several times during its long life. The latest major restoration is from 2004.

@@demusicaes When I have driven about 290 km since I refueled, a yellow light will light up and the display will show how many kilometers are left. When the light comes on, there are about 90 kilometers left, but to have a little reserve, I usually refuel after 330 kilometers of driving. The motorcycle usually runs around 24 km/l. The lowest I have recorded on a full tank was 20 km/l. I am retired now, but commuted by motorbike to my job for many years - 90 km a day. The BMW works brilliantly with two people. You can adjust the rear spring to a higher position with a handle on the right side, which is practical. The only fault I have had with the machine was a bolt in the clutch which broke which gave some strange vibrations in the engine.

Technically not true, though the initial design was BF, By the time the G was being produced, the designation was ME. But Red 7 here was Spanish built in the 1950's and later modified to the G type. Essentially the German built 109s were all BF designates until 1938 and ME after that, but the BF and ME were essentially interchangeable and often were depending on who was manufacturing what parts and equipment for the aircraft.

Yes - as I have written in the text: the Air Show was in Denmark.

Unfortunately, I have no drawing of the parts as they were made by first cutting and fitting a piece of cardboard and then making the bracket in 3mm stainless steel plate. At 2:14 you can see that the plate is bent down into an opening in the frame. Therefore, a single support bolt is sufficient. An important detail is the location of the large M16 nut. This was fixed with a screw clamp and placed so that the side boxes were completely vertical - then welded to the steel plate. This weld was therefore the last part of the whole construction. The bolt is a standard M16 bolt, where the head is machined down to the same dimensions as the original bolts that came together with the side boxes. The M16 bolt is secured with a small tip pointed screw from the underside of the nut when the bolt has been adjusted to the correct position. The bolt holding the bracket is M8 x 50. Due to the plate thickness, the original support handle will be raised 3 mm, so 3 mm thick washers must be placed under the other bolts. You must also have a good 2021 and thanks for your response.

@@thrustsst Your great solution stayed in my mind for quite some time. You're spot on that the black rear grip suits the F800s a lot better then the large silver rack. But I also live the look and posibilities of the cases/paniers. I've finally managed to get my hands on a used 800S (black) rear grip, and I would like to make an attempt to also make the luggage conversion. Do you have any leads/ things that could increase my chance to succes? Like measurements of the two metal brackets - or even build sketches? That is ofcourse, if you don't mind that I am trying to make the same.
