    Where are you scalloping? We went to Crystal River 4 weeks ago & found “0”. Not one. I will say it was our first time scalloping, but we were told to follow all the boats, which we did, and were in 4-8 foot water. Oh well, maybe we just didn’t hit the right area. We are going to try again next year!! Any tips would be very helpful!! Thanks

    • @SomethinCatchy
      @SomethinCatchy 8 дней назад

      This was shot yesterday in Pasco county out of anclote River. Following the boats can get you in the general area but sometimes there can be a big difference in scallop population just 100 ft away. If you don't find them and the water clarity is good just get on the trolling motor and look around until you find grass with little patches of sand and sometimes they are in shallower water sometimes they are in deeper water it depends where you are and every year can be different. We will be posting a full video with lots more tips in the near future. We also have videos from Crystal River already on the channel so check those out if you haven't already. Thanks for watching

    My pb was a triploid rainbow trout when I was 14, 34 inches. Nobody believed it came out of the lake i pulled him out of. And that was decades ago. Still have pictures. Caught him in a 70 foot deep lake at about 45 feet lol

    you should do that on the boat and ice down the meat in a ziploc bag. the shells when returned help cultivate more and create sand

    I went out yesterday in new Port Richey Florida and noticed that all the sponges had blue green algae issues and some of the scallop shells had blue green color from the algae , from what I understand it is usually harmless but every once in a while becomes toxic , I guess Im going to just try a few and wait to see if I have any symptoms before eating alot of them , I wish I knew more. Maybe I will ask around on the Florida sportsman forum

    • @SomethinCatchy

      That's crazy. Pasco scallop season was just closed due to bacteria they're saying

    • @jacobclark89
      @jacobclark89 Месяц назад

      @@SomethinCatchy yea , I didn't get sick from the scallops it was probably the best meal I've ever had 🤪, they really need to change the season back to when the water is cooler , much less bacteria levels and much less likely to get shark bitten and the water visabilty is more likely to be better because of less storms please pass it on ✌️
