Godfather of Chiseling 😃👌very nice 👌
Hmmm... i should learn more with the Chisel! That looks great 👌
Excellent video. Thanks for sharing
Tools used? I know the spindle roughing gouge is first, not quite sure what kind of skew follows
Tool used: not in the video order, but used during this video… From Crown tools 19mm Pro-PM roughing gouge, 19mm Pro-PM skew chisel and 10mm Pro-PM spindle gouge. From Robert Sorby 13mm oval skew chisel and 3mm standart parting tool. Both skew chisels have slighly curved cutting edge.
You could host an ASMR channel with that sanding routine! Good job.😊
Very nice! Subbed when you picked up the skew.
This is really helpful
Many thanks.
May I please ask what chuck are you using. It is obviously very capable of holding the workpiece securely. Thanks.
My chuck is old Record Power RP4000, but Vicmarc VM100 Chuck is similar with it.
Great warmup practice to get all the synapses firing!!
Masterfully done!!

Das hab ich so noch nicht gesehen, beneidenswert, tolle Übung 👍👍👍😎✌
Great for teaching chickens not to peck at eggs as well as teaching new lathe operators.
This is the best video that I have seen for turning egg shapes. Your skew chisel turning is fantastic and the shape of the egg is very realistic.
Not at all dangerous. A common practice.
Which wood is it bro?
It is spruce.
Nice!!
Great job,new sub.hier, Cheers 🤗
Kyllä kävi näppärästi.
What lathe tool do you use
Crown Tools 10mm Pro-PM spindle gouge. Robert Sorby 13mm oval skew and 3mm standart parting tool.
From a new turner, that's great touch. You make it look easy, and it's not.
Just came accross this video as a new turner. Best egg yet, your speed and precision are amazing.
You’re a good egg 🥚
what wood are you using
It is spruce.
What came first the skew the lathe are the egg?
Nice skew work! Who needs sandpaper anyway?
PenEi aue era uma piroca kkkk
Really nice! Thanks for sharing your talent.
Dude. There aint no chicken in the world can keep up with you.
Ottimo lavoro. Complimenti.
I only wish I could sharpen my gouges like this!
The first step, mounting the square block in the chuck seemed risky, but I thought I'd try. The block nearly hit me in the head when it came off. So I tried again, trying to tighten it better. Still flew off. Any tips to make this work? thanks
Hmmm, few things come in to my mind. You can use the tailstock to support the other end and you also need very sharp tools. And don't use too long workpieces. Do you use cutting or scraping tools?
Nice turning. Some minimal commentary would really benefit many watchers. What tool, speed, what you are looking out for, what to do, what not to do. Sanding.......finish with beeswax and heat. All in all, an ok video.
Nice skew work! Thanks
I am very new to turning, so, how fast is the wood turning, rpm?
About 1300-1400 rpm...
You sir have got skills Cheers Rob
New subscriber, expertly turned egg, nice tool control, sharp skew eh!! Take care Rob
Watching July 2018
رائع جدا ومبدع تسلم يداك
Pine
Spruce.
It held on by magic.
Believe me it is magic but, at the same time it could just fly of at any time hit the lathe bed and be ruined.
awesome
Sharp ass tools
This whole video showed him cutting the end off of round stock...is this all it will do or am o missing something here
That's a neat idea never thought of turning door handles like these thumbs up
Wow, you sure make it look easy! It's a little late for me to make any eggs for this year, but next year for sure, and I'll refer back to this video!
Look at the shine on that thing. Just look at it!
Pause at 1:14
You are definitely the Skew-master!
Thank you :)
