    Ive hated on this for years but i will admit he does take the shallow turns better. Only because he is so much slower. Ayrton was a wild horse. A stallion running free for once. Prost practiced and tuned for control of the track. Thats why he never will be a real racer

      I think it shows how good he really was, he matched revs consistently. Also, he was known to upshift two at a time exiting hard accelerating corners to minimize tyre wear. He was rarely the fastest on a single lap but he was so good in full race length.

    O Ayrton Senna admirava a estratégia de pilotagem do Prost. Foram amigos e Senna disse que muitas vitórias do Alan Professor era poupar pneus, andar mais leve com menos combustível e agredir menos o carro até às últimas voltas. Aí ele tinha carro sobrando pra contra atacar. Um estrategista!

  • @SUKITA264

    Senna era agressivo e se arriscava mais. Talvez essa coragem dava a ele melhores posições, mas; TB muitas quebras e batidas nos treinos. O Prost TB excelente Piloto, porém, o professor não era tão agressivo na pista...um estrategista. 2 gênios 👍

      Block shifting, can easily break the gearbox if you miss. Senna would almost never skip gears, would go through the whole gearbox and revmatch every shift.

    • @Flared
      @Flared 4 месяца назад

      @@raychev982 In 1988 and 1989, the McLaren was so dominant that Prost could go into qualifying with a full race setup and almost always still end up P2 on the grid. Senna, who would go full out qualifying setup to beat everyone over a single lap, would then be compromised for the race compared to Prost. That is why there is sometimes massive gaps in lap time between the two in this era. You don't win 51 races and 4 titles against competition like Senna, Piquet, Mansell, etc without being clever. They didn't call Prost "the professor" for nothing.

      @@raychev982 He still crashed though. May have got an incredible pole lap and had a 55 second lead, but Senna still got 0 points that day. I know questioning Senna being the greatest driver ever is sacrilege in some people's eyes, but he was beaten by other drivers in races. Prost was the closest teammate Senna ever had in his career and beat him on several occasions, not only as teammates at McLaren but also in other cars.

      Maybe it's better that way. That Alain was trully appreciated by the few that can really understand driving and racing. Christos Segkounas. Thanks for a very clear comment. So often people are so taken in by the Senna movie that they call Prost a coward, mediocre driver etc. I have Sir Jackie Stewarts book and he rates Senna as very fast, his opinion is that Senna was fast but you could see how hard he was trying while Prost was also fast and he made it look easy. That according to Stewart is pure driving. I see no reason for anyone to to be rude about Prost.

    • @barrierodliffe4155
      @barrierodliffe4155 7 лет назад

      bozo. Prost was called the professor because he so often managed to win in inferior cars, Prost worked at setting up the car and he was able to make cars look good even if they were not. Senna only won 6 races in his first 4 years before he got into the McLaren team. Prost had come very close to winning 3 titles in his first 4 years and Prost always had far better team mates, Senna refused to have Warwick at Lotus.
