Tiny Swingy - (Mr. Sun, Mr. Moon-Paul Revere & the Raiders)
Просмотров 8 тыс.9 лет назад
This was a cardboard record that came with Mattel's "Tiny Swingy" doll in 1968. When you played the record the doll would dance along. The song has the exact same melody as "Mr. Sun, Mr.Moon" which was a big hit for Paul Revere & the Raiders in 1969! I recorded this directly from the cardboard disc. Enjoy! Bob's years of hostiing Wonderama were great!
I’m probably the only person from Alabama who knows the Fingleheimer song. I grew up in Huntsville, Alabama and my Grandmother lived in NYC. I spent Summers up there watching Wonderama. I also know Palisades Amusement Park song by heart and can recite it 55 years after the park closed.
She's got a word or two to tell you, She's got some pots and pans to sell you. And when you wake up early in the mornin' Look out your door and she'll be walkin' On Cobble stone road, with her pots and pans Lookin' for the rich with money at hand On cobble stone road, with a heav-why load She's been walkin' Oh, She's been walkin' You see the little black cart With the wooden wheels, She's doesn't sacrifice goods for a phony deal She stays alive on a fifty cent meal, She makes no bargains on an automobile She'd rather walk and save money I guess, And the law can't touch her at all On cobble stone road, with a heavy load She's been walkin' Oh, She's been walkin' I wonder if she's ever lonely I wonder if there's someone Waiting home with her To be alone with her She wears a long black cape right down to her toes It's a hand made piece she just loves to show She stays alive on a fifty cent meal, She makes no bargains on an automobile She'd rather walk and save money I guess, And the law can't touch her at all On cobble stone road, with a heavy load She's been walkin' Oh, She's been walkin'
surfing craze in 1960s led to the invention of the skateboard for midwesterners who had no oceans to surf in. At least, that's what I remember.
Brian really paid his dues. Studied music theory in and out of high school, listened and analyzed songs of singing groups of the time like the Four Freshmen. It was no accident that he was able to come up with such greatharmonies and chord/song structures. but beyond all that, he was a genius.
Never heard this before! At its core this could be on pet sounds!
The disgusting, obnoxious Glenn Close is not a member of the Green Glenn Singers! That is not her on the record album cover! Glenn Close is not featured on this record, nor did she have anything to do with this Up With People record!
That is not accurate! The obnoxious Glenn Close is not on this album or the album cover! Glenn Close did not write this song! Glenn Close did not record this song or have anything to do with this UP With People record album!
No Al Jarden. David Marks is the 5th Beach Boy in these early photos.
Jeez, look how young they are dude!
Linda’s talent is a amazing the ultimate crossover artist one of the greatest voices of my generation her version of a song more times than not was the best version of that song 🎶
Cool version
Linda is one of the greatest voices of a generation, Amazing talent she could sing anything and it didn’t matter what genre it was, her version more times than not was the best version of that song 🎵 the Real Deal, she is authentic and beautiful , there’s only one Linda Ronstadt ❤her music 🎶
What a talent Jeff was. I fell on the floor when I heard some of his work. Who knew he was Brian’s voice on all those performances? A magnificent and genuine music man. RIP Mr Foskett
Jeez ,am I glad I saw these legends live ,The best❤❤❤❤
My favorite Ronstadt is the early stuff before she became a SuperStar...you can hear it coming in her voice song after song album after album from '67 onwards...then the "Heart like a Wheel" album and...BOOOM!!!...the rest is history Ronstadt's horrible disease has taken her voice but NOT her spirit...prayers for Linda...amen
Can’t wait to see Selena Gomez play her in the biopic
RIP, Jeff Foskett, you are greatly missed ! Truly, you were one of the good guys. ----------------MJL, 77 y/o
I own this CD, & it is a masterpiece ! RIP, Jeff Foskett, you are already, greatly missed. -------------MJL< 77 y/o
Thanks Jeff
ONLY Linda could pull off a Waylon Jennings song! 🎵🎶🔥💕
Linda is my rockin' babe ❤
A tremnedous loss. In seeing the Beach Boys and Brian solo over 100 times I always knew it was Jeff singing those unforgetable high notes. A very talented singer we will all miss. May he he be in heaven singing a duet with Carl with Dennis on drums.
R.I.P. Loved his his high pitched voice...
What a great voice, one of the best ever!
I saw he just passed from cancer. Such a loss.
Rest Easily Jeff
He will be massively missed. What a talent. One in a million.
Waylon's version is great. But Linda takes it to another level with the sassiness ❤
Cool when records were put on cereal boxes 🥨
Wow unbelievable
I loved Bob McAllister and his colorful characters on Wonderama, particularly Mike Fury. My buddy Andrew once claimed he met Mike Fury on the street, and he gave Andrew a bite of his Super Onion, and Andrew blew up his tricycle with it. Those were the days. Thanks for bringing this back!
That’s no way that’s them in the picture
WOW 😳 Pretty Good It's a keeper!
Be well, Mr. Foskett.
My younger cousin, who ended up being a CFO of a corporation, used to go around singing this ditty when he was a kid of about 10. For some reason , due to the mysterious and inexplicable workings of memory, this song stuck in my head throughout all these years. A few years ago I tried to play it for my daughter to make her laugh but never found it until now. How great it was when adults routinely used their creative genius to make funny and interesting content for kids' amusement (think Tom & Jerry's Cat Symphony)
Class tune 😊
¡Qué extraordinaria artista! Fantástica voz y expresión, no se puede pedir más.
If you were in the worst position in life..and heard this song you'd know Amwerica is were you needed to head
Wonderful 😢
Thanks for sharing this video of sorts. I have such fond memories of both Sonny Fox and then Bob McAllister on Wonderama…aka Let’s have fun 🤩
Nothing else like Early Linda Live. Super, sexy, gorgeous unadorned pipes ...sigh.
RIP Bob McAllister - thank you for the childhood memories.
She was already technically 100% this early at her career.
I watched this show as a kid. At the time I had no idea McAllister played him. I knew he wasn't real, I just thought another actor played him!
Holy shit......I haven't heard this in 50 years.....
LA Doo Wop!!! Only thing missing is a streetlight😂😂😂
RIP Richard Carmichael 🙏
Makes my day
This was a staple of our childhood. RIP Bob. You are missed.
