I am having trouble removing the metal band on the top cover. The black handle on the screw unwinds but there is a nut at the base that ive loosened and yet the band will not pop loosen as it has in the past. Tried a couple taps to no avail. Please help with tricks to remove band without damage. TIA!

I've worked on pools all of my adult life and you sitting there with no water in that thing try doing it in a flower bed when it was done at a water level when the pool is full and that thing is full of water A&A needs to have their butt kicked for ever putting this on the market nothing but trouble with a capital T!

Wow thanks Greg, you just saved me $75 to have a tech come find out what's wrong. I took the gear assembly apart, reseated everything and my pop-ups work great!

Good evening, i just took about an hour and replaced the low profile gear kit. I watched the video closely and didn't miss a thing. When I ran it, it became stuck in one position, which was what I was trying to fix in the first place. I looked in it while it ran with a high power light, the impeller was spinning, but the gears stayed stationary. Looking a previous comment about reseat the gear table I was wondering if perhaps I didn't push it down hard enough although I looked thru the hole while I did it and it seemed to seat........thoughts please

Thank you very much! Pool tech spent 2+ hours trying to re-seat gear table...he gave up! 2nd tech found your terrific video and had it back together in about 4 minutes and working great. You are pool heros!!!

Greg, I changed my burned out bulb for the second time & decided to change the ballast. My light still doesn't come on. My system is 5 y.o. & actually doesn't have the tiny white plastic safety switch button, it's just a square hole. Is this normal? Can the safety switch be changed splicing the red wiring the same way as the ballast wires are spliced together?

Greg- on the ballast, what do you set the switch to 125v or 250 volts?

Thank you for this video. The black and white instructions that came with the replacement valve kit from the vendor I purchased it from were awful.

So the goal is to achieve 10-11 psi on a given circuit. Increasing the rpm of the pump if the the pressure is less, correct?

Greg - is there a way to know or test if the ballast is faulty? I have switched the bulb out but it is still not lighting up. Though have to say trying to get the bulb in and out of that connection point was far more difficult than it looks in this video. Having spent $85 on a new bulb I don't want to splurge $60 on a ballast if I don't know that its where the problem is?
