I believed that Brushy Bill was Billy the kid. He just knew to much that was never published in any book or paper .

As unfortunate as it is, Billy the Kid was absolutely killed by Pat. Bad as I hate to admit it. I live in his old stomping grounds and have been a fan since I was a kid. I wish he escaped but it didn’t happen. Also, even the slightest amount of research, you’d see that Brushy Bill Robert’s was and had always been a pathological liar. Long before he “came out” as BTK. Him trying to assume somebody else’s identity was not rare.

Truly an event which can only be reconstructed by "circumstantial evidence", i.e., we have to use reasonable inference to figure out what most likely happened. Brushy bill was BS...he was con man and snake oil salesman that would spin a tale for anyone that would listen. Billy died an old man on a place near Cache Creek west of Fort Sill. After years of working on a big ranch along Rainy Mountain Creek about 40 miles north.

Pat garrett shot billy the kid and killed him, a number of people in fort sumnter witnessedthe body, it was laid out on a carpenters bench overnight before burial., if pat garrett didn't kill him billy th kid would have turned up long before 1950, and just one other thing funny how brushy waited untill everone was dead before showing up as billy the kid.

I’ve spoken with Porter Garrett, Pat Garrett’s grandson in Lubbock Texas 40 years ago. He told me that his grandfather indeed did not kill Billy. Couldn’t do it. That is why he only brought back Billy’s boots as proof and not his body or his horse as was customary at the time. Billy rode barefoot for Mexico and returned some time later and assumed the name Bill Robert’s and live to be an old man in Texas. That’s what Pat’s grandson, Porter Garrett who was in his 90s at the time we spoke some 40 years ago told me. I swear with God as my witness the above account is true and accurate.

Whenever I first heard the story of Brushy Bill on Unsolved Mysteries , I was a bit skeptical despite the many weird things I believe and even know are true. Over time, I gave not just the account, but the times he lived in a lot of thought and just how EASY it was to disappear and become someone else. Yeah, he probably was Billy the Kid.

I agree with the host, there were way too many things that Brushy Bill knew and could prove.. However, it does makes one wonder how The Kid could get away with hiding for the next 50 years of his life.

Will all of the evidence is proving that the gentleman is Billy the kid him and Pat Garrett were friends at one point in time before Pat Garrett decided to become a US Marshal and hunts his best friend down they even point that out in the second Young guns movie Billy the kid was notorious for being able to get away from posse's hunting him down in bounty hunters and all the evidence is pointing to this gentleman as being the notorious outlaw Billy the kid the two of the Marshalls that were in the house as they were old men admitted to lying on Pat Garrett's behalf so that means the book that Pat Garrett wrote is all fiction and everything that came out of his mouth about Billy the kid after supposedly killing Billy the kid is all nothing but lies in anybody that's DNA related to Pat Garrett now his family is humiliated because Pat Garrett was a liar trying to become famous and kill his best friend for money and fame I'm glad this new evidence has come to light proving that Billy the kid was not killed by Pat Garrett and it also proved that Billy the kid changed after the rumors came out that Pat Garrett killed him he became a productive member of society and nobody realized it and left his outlaw ways behind him now that Pat Garrett's bragging about killing him and that's how the beginning of Young guns 2 the movie starts Billy the kid as this lawyer medium out in the desert because a long time ago Billy the kid was promised a pardon and that's all he wanted the government to keep their word on the pardon that's all he wanted no I'm curious as to how long Billy the kid lived after Pat Garrett supposedly killed him and what he did in his life post being an outlaw?

It stupid to even debate they didn’t even have DNA test in the late 1800’s to early 1900’s or even in the 1950’s so there is no way to prove unless he had a sibling that died during his reign buried around there that is still fresh enough for testing and brushy bill is still fresh enough in his grave for testing as well.

Well It was the movies Young Guns 1 and 2 what made be a Kid enthusiast. I want to believe that Brushy Bill was Billy the Kid, I'm still not 100% sure tho.99% tho. I heard that Brushy had scars from gunshots wounds that BTK was known to have, and then some. That should be the "smoking gun" proof that he really was The Kid, many who know Brushy bill said they were convinced he was b/c of his knowledge about the Kid. He knew way too much to not be the actual kid. All this is IMO.
