Hey Man I’ve ran into the same issue and nothing worked and you know what I traced down and changed out the capacitors that’s around the connections to the disc drive and now mine works like brand new and that’s the only thing I’ve replaced everything else is original, so best bet is to try and replace those if I could I’d sent you a pic of the exact ones I replaced.

What was wrong with the replacement power supply? u only showed the original one. Would have been best u tested both power supplies to see if they had their 5V lines and the 12V output 1st before going onto the motherboard looking for issues, just saves time doing these steps 1st.

Did you know that the spindle motor NEVER spin if the disc is not inserted on PU-7/PU-8/PU-16 modbo? If the servos doesn't detect anything, spindle motor mantain a standby mode. You have to insert a disc first and then try! Also, if the BTL was detective, the focus/tracking coil should not work. Instead, It pull up and down normally.

Hey Peppe_ Repairs when you work on it again get a KSM 440 BAM Laser Assembly and when you set the Bias and Gain the Bias needs to be at 1.74 Millivolts and the Gain to 1.82 Millivolts with agame inserted to becable to set the Gain Properly and when you get that new laser you will need too just swap out the top cover to fit inside your Ps1 with no modding the case to fit it
