Yes, packing cubes for easier organisation. They can go straight in a drawer at our destination. 👏🇦🇺
Hi @AnneMB955 ! That is exactly what I do!
We flew to Hawaii to spend 3 days in Wakiki and 7 days on a cruise around the islands. I had been using packing cubes for a few years, but I bought compression cubes for thos 10 day trip. I carefully rolled my clothes, and my dresses, tops, and shorts did not wrinkle at all. They were great!
HI @user-gi7gl7rm3r Glad you have real-life results to report and that it all worked as planned. You might be an inspiration to those who are unsure out there!!
I am planning to take a sleep sack because I hate sleeping on sheets in places that are not mine! I have always carried a double sheet that I use in my sleeping bag which I've slept in on a bed on a domestic trip, but they have light sleep sacks (like the old youth hostel days!) for plane travel!
Hi @secretariatgirl4249 ! That is a great item to add to this bag. Thanks for sharing that idea with us!
Showing the small vs larger sizes is great!! Not often done!!! I did notice that there are actually 5 different sizes with different prices... the 15.6 is actually 16" with an "upgrade" to 17" and the same thing goes with the 16.5 (16)which upgrades to 17.4! And then there is an 18" which doesn't seem that much different. So, depending on which of each you choose, they can be very close in size, LOL! I wish the backpack had a cross body strap! Amazon flags this item as "frequently returned" and some people have an issue with zippers...?? As for size, I found a luggage shipping site (and also then the same info on more of a "camping" site) which suggested that you forget the 18x14x8 size you see a lot...Better--18x13x9 but EVEN BETTER: 17x13x9.....There are some things more in the 16" range which might be even safer! I'm having a tough time finding a personal item bag...the Lovenooks would be ideal if they had a cross body strap option with it! But, as you say, the trolley sleeve does help a lot! And, you can always sling one strap over the shoulder... OH, just found that there is a "quilted" version that looks more traditional and is even lighter but holds the same stuff!
Hi @secretariatgirl4249 ! While I love my Lovevook I do have other personal item bags. You can watch a review of a Beis bag dupe that I did here: ruclips.net/video/lteRR9EJLL0/видео.html. It is a great cross-body with a passthrough, too. Does that help?
@@PerriesPassport will check it out.! I 'm thinking that you are right about the trolley sleeve really making all the difference....and I tried an old backup and actually loosened one of the back straps and pretty made it into a crossbody if a shift in weight is needed for a brief time. Update: loved that video and bag!... But it's big and to be safe I'd go with a Lovevook ...
Great info, thanks for your service!
HI @AdrianTollis ! Thank you!
I use a combo of all four, yes all four. It depends on the item and the bulk of the item. I don't use packing cubes. I've done a pack with the exact same clothes with and without and found I had more room without them because I had more little nooks and crannies I could stuff things into. I'm an unpacker and I always carry a few trash bags with me since you never know if you need them. They go into the bottom of the drawer spread out before the clothes go in. Then at the end of the trip, my dirty clothes go into them to keep them away from any clean clothes I might have. Until I pack everything up, I put the dirty clothes in a different drawer with no bags on the bottom of it (and I'm a slight neat freak so I fold the dirty clothes when the go into the dirty clothes drawer and all they fit into the trash bag and back into the my suitcase almost the same way they were packed to start with). I don't usually rewear shirts but do pants/shorts/skorts but those get hung up and I just hang them in a different side of the closet so I know I've worn them once already.
HI @lovestodive1879 ! Thanks for sharing your methods and I think that could work for some. For me, since I tend to move around a lot, I like packing cubes since they are repacked so easily. That being said, I think that everyone needs to do what works for them, hence why I showed so many different methods of packing. I agree with you that each method does have its purpose. Thanks so much for your very thoughtful post!
I use a compression cube for the change of clothes that I put in my personal bag.
Hi @virginiastroobandt4497 ! Excellent Idea!!
Great demo of all methods, Perrie! I use cubes sometimes and sometimes I don't. Just depends on how much I'm taking and how bulky everything is. Thanks!
HI @colleenc5008! Thanks! I call myself a maximum minimalist as I will always try to stuff the bag, no matter the size carry on or personal item, so my cubes are a must
@@PerriesPassport a maximum minimalist... I think that could describe me too!

I sure enjoy your videos, they are well researched and presented so very well by you, great work!
Hi @MED-lx5wk ! Thank you so much!
I love packing cubes. I only use the regular ones. I’m always experimenting on my trips. Sometimes if I’m really precise I will pack by outfit. My major problem is I change my mind, or the weather changes. Then I’ll end up using some items twice and others not at all. Thanks for your videos.
Hi @debratakagawa4764 ! Did you ever try changing the cube usage mid-trip? I have and I have found it useful! The weather issue can get the best of us, even when we think we know the temps, and then they change. I have had that happen even when I check right before I go.
I’ve never changed the packing cubes mid trip as that would require work and thinking (hehe).
@@debratakagawa4764 🤣🤣
Nice sharing
@lifewithmisty1 Thanxs!
I love you so much we travelling together
@james22939 Thanks James!
@@PerriesPassport I love hearing your suitcases zip
Packing cubes were a game changer for me. I use the regular kind. Have never tried the compression ones. I used to roll but found folding and stacking clothes into the cubes helps them fit into the suitcase better. More pliable.
Hi @cathylingo9521 ! Do you find stacking to always be the better choice? I find that I can get more lighter items in a packing cube if I roll, but heavy items I stack (like you).
Sometimes I do a combination of both. Most of my trips are to warm destinations so it’s usually shorts and t’s. And I usually bring work out type materials. Very thin.
@@cathylingo9521 Lately, I keep doing these combo trips where the weather differs a lot. I'm going to Alaska in June, and Vancouver after that, so very mixed weather.
I’m a roller. It works for me. Great video! Loved how you showed all the different methods! Thank you!
HI @marthameyer7918! I'm a roller too, but I have to say that one of those Con Mari methods makes for a very organize bag, even if it gets 1 less item.
Thank you for this video! Im not sold on compression cubes. I feel my bag gets too heavy. Im going to just use a regular cube next trip. Does that make sense? Im going be rewatching all your videos, i planned 3 more trips this year. 🤦♀️
Hi @paisleyhunter I have to agree with you for most things, a regular packing cube does the job. But for bulky items like jackets or sweatshirtss or things like socks or underwear, compression cubes just keeps them under control. Where are you going?
@@PerriesPassport Orlando, kansas city, and Vegas. The Vegas trip is to see a Raiders game! My husband has been a Raiders fan his whole life and we haven't been to a home game there. Of course, I'm going for window shopping as well! All my trips will be with my trusty lovevook! I can't thank you enough for that review. Have a great holiday weekend!
The biggest difference in size is that if you are carrying a laptop, you will need the 17" bag.
Hi @monicab28 Actually I could get my Macbook Air into the 15 inch, but my 17 inch would only go into the bigger bag. So good point there.
I have the black pinstripe in the 15.6 and a black pleather in the 17. I LOVE both of them but use the 17 when traveling. I use the 15.6 every day for work stuff. As a travel agent, I w tried a ton of bags and these 2 are my absolute favorite!! It's so nice to be able to carry it on my back instead of carrying it around.
Hi @monicab28! I just love my 17 inch. I have never had an issue getting it under the seat (people have asked) and I have to agree that the black pinstripe is adrobs! Thanks for the feedback!
What a great review!
Hi @valindabowens9411 ! Thank you!

Hi @maryflynn4955! Well, when your samsonite wears out, keep this in mind. I was truly impressed!
We just got a set of Quince luggage and are excited to be using them soon.
Hi @billjoyce! I really couldn't believe how it compared to my Away luggage. No difference. I'll be using mine soon, too!
what excellent viewer service!1 thank you
Hi, @davidhernandez5145! Glad you found the video useful! Thank you so much!
The only thing you didn't mention is jewelry. I love jewelry and have lots of it, but whenever I travel, I just take what I wear - wedding and engagement rings, watch, necklaces, and earrings. No changes for the whole trip (unless I buy jewelry overseas). I don't wear bracelets when I travel, because I lost one from the weight of a bag that pulled and fell down my arm.
Hi @sherrycohen1824 ! I actually don't take much jewelry with me. I did address it once before in another video, but I have to say, that you make a good point that I should address it formally. Thanks! :)
Dear Petrie, Thank you so much! So helpful as I am an over packer but getting better. Your tips and product ideas are really good. Best travels to you!
Hi @misscarmen491! You are so sweet! I'm glad you enjoyed the video and best of travels back to you!
My toiletries always weigh at least 2kgs😅.. Can't help it. Need to bring everything 😅
Hi @lindatran4132 OMG, what are you bringing? I need to know now, LOL! 🤣🤣
I use those Olay cloths but I cut them into quarters. Plenty of suds for one face wash.
Hi @cathylingo9521! Great idea! I'm going to do that. Thanks for sharing!
This is great if you are not flying internationally but when I fly long distances I need to take a hammock for my feet a neck pillow, a book and light a water bottle and extra snacks.
Hi @57danna. When I travel internationally I take a blow-up footrest, my neck light and I get my water from the plane. I tend to take night flights so I don't take snacks, but I have put protein bars in that bag, too. Btw, many of the airlines are now counting neck pillows as a personal item, so make sure you check that out before you fly.
music is annoying background
HI @normaskroch, well that's a first for me and so many of these videos do have music in the background. Sorry if it annoyed you.
You could also just google the same flight number
This is the type of "I type in Google into the search bar to get to the Google search"
You could, but it wouldn't give you all the same information, only part of it.
This is so helpful. I don’t know where to start especially to places I’ve never been
HI @avocado3748! Well, there are two ways to go about that. You can make it price dependent, and go to places that are bargains or make a list of your bucket list places and do some googling on the sites you want to see. Maybe go to one of the countries that your ancestors came from?
I put a cotton round on my eyeshadow case and close it. This helps prevent shattering.
Hi @laurensweeny4513! That is an amazing idea! I'm going to do that next time! Thank You !
I have thick waist length hair & I love my Revlon hairdryer! I traveled everywhere with it, loved it so much that I got one for home when my big one broke.
HI @sem-w7329! They are the best! I worried one day they might stop making them (like my straightener). Maybe I'll buy another one to be safe!
@@PerriesPassport Hmmm, that’s a good point. Yes I think I will buy another one. Thanks!
Another great video! I get samples of make up, perfume, and skin care just by asking. I got a beautiful skin care trio sample size from Dior. 🎉 You don't know if you don't ask!
Hi @paisleyhunter! Thank you so much!! You are so right about asking! I have to tell you that it was my daughters who taught me that trick with Sephora.
@PerriesPassport the Dior skin care trio sample is so pretty, I don't want to use it! Your daughter has a great idea.
@@paisleyhunter LOL! I forgot to tell you that I have identical twins!! All they do is give me "advice"
Helpful tips! Thank you! Does your personal item bag fit under the seat or do you place it in the storage bin above your seat?
Hi @kimkkillen! Glad you found the vid informative. And yes I do get it under the seat, but I put it sideways. I can't imagine anyone getting the full size weekender under a seat (or carrying them around... full mine ways a ton.)
Great video! Can you tell me where to get the toiletry bag you used?
Hi @user-gy2hg2mk4g! Yes I can. I got it on Amazon. Here is the link.:amzn.to/3UTvw5y. I forgot to put it n the description. Sorry!
Thank you!
What are the size dimensions for the bag?
Never mind, thanks for sharing the measurements towards the end lol I was too excited about the bag I didn’t watch till the end.
If you’re planning on making a trip soon, I suggest install Immersive Translate to your web browser. I’ve used it during many of my trips abroad, and it has been a real life-saver. I am definitely going to use it on my trip to Europe soon!

Great Video. I've used TripIt for years and now I have a historical record of all the trips I've taken over the years with all the details, like confirmation numbers. That has come in very handy when planning similar trips or trips to the same location.
Hi @elsawaters97! Wow! I never thought about that!! I only started using since last year and now I find it indispensable! Thanks for that handy tips!
Greetings from upper left USA. Very informative video, Perrie! Thank you for making it. I would also suggest a time zone conversion app like World Clock or Time Buddy. That way you'll know what the current time is back home if you need to stay in touch with someone during your travels. It's great that our devices change to the current local time zone for us, but... that's not helpful if you need to know what time it is at home.
Hi @ifxequalswhy! Wow, I've never heard of those. You are so right! Thanks for sharing!
@PerriesPassport you can always google what the current time is - or will be if looking ahead - but I find it's handier to use the app. They'll also let you add more than one time zone. That can be very helpful if you'll travel across multiple time zones. Googling the current time across several time zones is more difficult. I think you can also use either of those apps without an internet connection.
@@ifxequalswhy I have to agree with you!! 👍

How on earth do that many items fit under the seat and where do you put your put your feet? I am gathering information as flying with only carry on is new to us. Thanks for all the advice
Hi @margaretgreene1929! I grew up between the US and Ealing, London, so LOL..gobsmacked it is! The key to everything is organization. I'm so glad you found this video useful. I have an upcoming vid on two little backpacks that were designed for Ryanair. I think they could be of help to you, so keep an eye out for them. Btw, I was in your neck of the woods just recently visiting the family and we took Easyjet to Portugal as a side trip.
what is the best? may be the first one?
Hi @fabianalbertoramirezhernan4600. I actually ended up keeping the Rinlist and it's been a great bag. It's gone on at least 5 trips with me, and other than a little dirt on the outside, it has been lasting well, and I can pack a ton into it.
