All those specific & real military improvements are all necessary just for Canada's own sake, whether the Americans are pleased is irrelevant. But at the same time, we should use those improvements to grow more independent from them, push back much harder on alliance foreign & defense policy, rejecting Washington's imperial ambitions and demand that if other allies get real decision-making power to save these alliances from Washington's frequent strategic fuck-ups. Do not be fooled by the hypocrites. While the USA demands that level of militarized obedience to Washington, it will also try to undermine Canada's GDP (and every other NATO member) by also backstabbing us on trade, so you can kiss that budgetary room for more military spending goodbye (even though GDP decline will perversely put us closer to that GDP target). They will steal from us, and then were supposed to thank these thieves for it too? No, I say fuck that and fuck em ! Then, get released to the civilian world and have no experience, no transferable licenses, and programs like March of Dimes and SISIP VOC Rehab. A "service" that's designed to remove VOC Rehab and services from Veteans and leave them with nothing if they say no to unsafe work. They tried to do it to me and countless others (2014-2019). We sued them and won. Now, Veterans will wait even longer to receive benefits they have already earned.

back in the 1980's the then government sold of most of the dilapidated housing that was available to the military, never considering replacing it for our forces . Abd our current spending is so far behind that by the time we reach our 2% goal the price will have drastically increased to the point that we won't be able to even play catch-up . The government needs to quit giving away millions to other countries and dump all resources into the military . Also making military service mandatory for youth out of highschool for at least 2yrs .

We have less than 40,000 active members are combat ready 😂 small countries like Iran, North Korea, ect. all have over a million active combat ready member's. We paid $400 million a piece for the useless AOPSs, four times what it cost the Norwegians for theirs, yet ours are less well armed. Our new Type 26 frigates will cost us a gazzillion dollars by the time they touch salt water, but only have 8 Mark 41 missile launchers, as opposed to the 24 of the British version, because, hey we are Canadians, and presumably we don’t want to see too warlike and hurty. We can spend $ , just not wisely or well. But the folks at Irving Shipbuilding and Bombardier thank you for their private jets.

Isn't it cheaper to put them in the military and you could count it towards the NATO 2%. Hey there's an Idea, but what if they say no? Then we say NO and good-bye. All in favor say eh.

My son (as a dual citizen) left his Canadian homeland to join the US military. I asked him " why not join the Canadian military "? He laughed at me and said " no disrespect to our soldiers, but Canada's military is a joke. Go to war with what? Slingshots, leaking canoes, and gear from WW2 (if there's even any left)?
