Works Single Seater Frazer Nash at Monaco Historique 2021.

After qualifying on pole for the Grid A race, PBE held position for the first few laps of this iconic circuit. Sadly an overheating issue made the engine go off song until it finally cut out. The popping noise is the pressure relief valve for the two superchargers. It’s an amazing circuit and a brilliant car. It’ll be back there next year, fully sorted and to conquer unfinished business…. #fraz...

    Two things I don’t understand about this: 1. How did that engine NOT blow💥up in the process and, 2. After spinning the tires with the pedal to the floor for what seemed like 10 minutes, how did it suddenly gain traction and start going up the hill? I was looking for “the winch guy“ who jumps out and runs up the hill with the winch line but I didn’t see that here plus they kept going so they made it to the top. I realize the tires got hot, but typically that would only help you if you were rock crawling or something which they clearly weren’t.

    What a fabulous place and an amazing job you are doing of those engines, I have a cortina mk1 with a pre crossflow in it, my neighbour and I restored it, new pistons and gaskets ect, I thought it was clean until I saw your workmanship, I'd love to have a look round sometime but I'm too far away, keep up the good work, maybe one day you could do mine. 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧👍

    Watched the livestream here on RUclips, the pre-war cars were my favourites. Shame that your race ended the way it did, you're having a great time in the lead battle with the big Talbot Lago. Thanks for the ride, anyways! Edit: hang on a minute, you said *two* superchargers!? That is incredible!

    Impressive how fast the chain-drive 'Nash changes ratio - sounds almost as fast as a modern sequential gearbox.

    • @paulbaker9880
      @paulbaker9880 4 года назад

      They use dog cogs to engage gear - no need to double declutch! You can change gear as fast as you can move the gear lever. :)

      @@paulbaker9880 Indeed - my father used to drive a mid-1920s Anzani-engined 'Nash in hill-climbs in the '30s.
