I think this is the most mainstream, conventional, linear narrative movie Taylor Mead did. And it's a Jim Jarmusch film! This is as "aboveground" as Taylor Mead got.

Pretty interesting/coincidental that Taylor Mead’s birthday is December 31st- born on the cusp of a new year, and asleep at the very end of this film.

I keep coming back to this absolutely brilliant bit of whatever the hell it is. This is the way I want to check out. Cash in my chips. Pop my cloggs. And "Take Five" would be my music. And there would be naked dancing girls. Hey, I never said I was Jim Jarmusch

Through mutual friends I had the great pleasure of befriending Taylor while I lived in the East Village from 2009-2011. He was such a personality, and a crazy nut in the best ways possible, and no one has, or had, a voice so perfectly fitting for one who’s life revolved around poetry as Taylor. And what a slob he was, but somehow it all lended to his uniqueness. The whole of the Lower East Village loved, and adored him, and as crass as he was, he was immensely charming. Watching this again, I can’t help but cry a bit while I’m reminded of just how much I miss him, and his voice. RIP Young Man!
