Hey guys. Just discovered both your channel's. Really good, honest, no airs and graces blokes, Iv been wild camping for about 6 months but had a health scare which has knocked my confidence some what. I like to here that you talk about your health. It seems to be that alot of wild campers with health issues have taken to the outdoors for self healing. My kit its basic but it works for me. Looking forward to getting out again soon. Enjoy your adventures. BE WILD, BE FREE.

Good instruction vid Josh, like you I do rate the X-Mid 1 very highly, however, my biggest criticism is that in heavy rain, getting in or out of the X-Mid, when you unzip the fly it drops water right on top of you or your kit immediately inside. I have no other real complaints but that's definitely a bit of a bummer when you're trying to stay dry in my experience.

Josh is likely an introvert. He recharges his batteries when alone and quiet. Being alone in nature helps him to deal with the necessary interactions of every day life. Extroverts draw off the charges of their interactions with others. Neither person is “right” or “wrong”. It is just the way we are wired differently. Understanding and respecting each others differences leads to better relationships.

absolutely loved this Josh and Craig, good to see you having a catch up , it's nice to see Craig full of confidence now , I cant wait till I've done my first wildcamp , I think that spot you go to is awesome , I do think nerves play a big part especially for me as I want my son to experience it , but this makes me feel.anxious as I have to keep him safe , I know we will be fine , I follow Craig now and ive really enjoyed his videos , I really felt sorry for him on his last camp especially with the midges and how desperate he was to cook , good old British weather , your such an inspiration Josh and very informative , im sure you will smash your subscriber target

I pitch mine slightly different Josh, if you peg the 1st point out, then peg out the opposite diagonal corner (peg 3) & tension them both. Then pension peg 2 & tension it should be at 90 deg automatically, finally peg 4, for a perfect pitch. Try it out, works every time for me. Great video, thanks for posting.

Nice review. The loops at the peaks aren't lantern loops, they're designed to string a line across from one to the other. That makes a clothesline or gear line.

I have an Xmid 1 solid, I absolutely love everything about it. It's engineering design perfection, can handle most of what the Peak District can throw at it , and @durstongear support was fantastic when I needed them. I love the darker colour of the solid. Great review.

This is such a great walkthrough - even an absolute tent beginner should be successful putting the tent up properly after this. I love my Durston Xmid 2 Solid 🙌

Mate if you ever meet someone and you look/talk about them the way you do about the Xmid, you need to marry that person 😂😂. FYI you can buy self adhesive sticking mesh patches to repair that inner, if I find a link I'll send them to ya.

those loops are for the washing line i think. good point on the pockets tho (led melt situation)! also, that trekking pole has seen better days lol. i think if you lower the inner tent via the peaks, it makes the bathtub closer to the floor and have a wider area too, sacrificing the headroom

Contacted tent meals after watching your video with Messner (I mentioned that your channel is where I heard of them), because I have coeliac disease so can not have any gluten in my diet. Unlike pretty much every company I've contacted before regarding gluten, TentMeals were extremely open about how they prepare their food (Jess the owner answered my questions) and I was reassured enough to buy from them. Tiny little bags and tasty as well.

Pitching your tent on any lake shore in the Lake District is illegal fly camping.

It is totally against National Trust and National Park policy to camp there. Also it is SSSI land and common land that sheep graze on.

Top vid mate, Ranger was the word you were looking for haha, love abit of the Winnats Pass but it gets so busy at sunrise/sunset. Had a couple of camps here but i tend to just hike past these days

I find the Helm 1 too small for me now I’ve used the Xmid 1P solid. Didn’t you use the other vestibule on the opposite side for your storage?
