Driving All Over
Великобритания
Добавлен 20 май 2010
Hi everyone, I’m Joe and since passing my driving test in 2013 going for drives and visiting different parts of the UK has been a big part of my life.
Back in 2017 I got a dash cam to record some of my journeys and after a few years of not uploading I have recently started putting up footage of some of my drives. These can vary from rural scenery to an urban setting to having both in one video. Although this footage is currently on the UK road network I am hoping to get some from other European countries in the future, starting with Ireland in summer 2024.

Great video 😀 it would have been nicer if more of the motorway had been built
Thank you and it certainly would have been interesting
Nice mate, visiting Karl by any chance? I'm glad they didn't put the motorway through the Peak District in the end
@@no_soy_rubio Thanks mate and no not this time. It was more to get some full lengthers done Aye same here although it would have been a stunning drive had it been built
Nice one
Thank you
Nice video 😀 I'm surprised the road isn't busier considering it goes through the capital city
Thank you and I think it’s pretty quiet at first due to not being on a main route. Most traffic coming from Ramsey into Douglas goes via the mountain road as it’s quicker than using the A2 which goes through Laxey and a few other villages to reach Douglas.
Nice mate lovely drive
Thanks mate ❤️
Nice video 😀 was the M50 ever planned to be a full ring road, or was it planned like the M60 in the UK where it took over existing motorways like the last section of M1?
Thank you ☺️ It wouldn’t have been on the original plans but the later plans for the Eastern Bypass would have likely been that number as it would have linked up with the Port Tunnel. I can imagine had that happened the South East motorway bit would have then become M11 as it was supposed to be a radial route, luckily the junction numbers could be easily changed as well with 17, 16, 15 and 13/14 becoming 4, 3, 2 and 1 on the signs.
It's weird seeing a single or double digit B road number
Yeah certainly different that’s for sure
Nice mate, good choice of music and looks a good road to drive on not too much traffic like the m25 lol
Thanks mate, yeah it’s not too bad (although very different from the British version!) but given that Dublin is much smaller than London that’s probably why haha
I really like the choice of music
Thank you very much 😁
Cool video, one thing I've noticed is the future widening provisions or idea indicated by the gantries towards the central reservation
Thank you, yeah a lot of the older Irish motorways have this. The newer or widened ones tend to just have the concrete barrier
Gonna have to change the channel to Walking All Over 😅
@@no_soy_rubio Not the only video I got doing this either
Absoluter Unsinn! B73 ist die Todesstrecke, zwischen Stade und Cuxhaven.
Are there any signs showing the B78? Is this one of the shortest B roads?
There aren’t any showing it however the Manx government still class it as a B road. It is one of the shorter ones but not the shortest.
@@driving_all_over that's quite interesting actually
Well This is different
Certainly is and it isn’t unique either as there’s another one plus a couple of A roads that are have conflicting one way systems on them 😆
Nice video 😀
Thank you very much ☺️
Kinda surreal seeing you drive this stretch of road I know so well haha. At 1:55 that area is known as Halfway as it's halfway between Queenborough, Minster and Sheerness. Tbh I didn't know that was called A250, I've always known that road as Halfway Road (apart from Millennium Way) haha
Cheers mate, yeah I thought it was a bit of an odd name but it makes sense now. Hopefully I’ll get the A249 (and maybe the A2500) one done soon In fairness it seems most roads on Sheppey seem to have been the A250, it must be the island’s version of the A430 in Gloucester haha
Nice one Joe
Thank you ☺️
Nice one mate 👍
Thank you mate
Nice video 😀 I liked the finish section by the sea
Thank you, and yeah it’s a decent place to finish it
Nice video mate great tune 🎉 Tyne Bridge was the best bit
@@rubiocitywalks Thanks
So they even run along the motorway?
Yeah they do ☺️ The elite racers only use the northbound carriageway but everyone else uses both carriageways then merge together at the Tyne Bridge
I was wondering that haha
@@driving_all_overthat must be weird, especially as the A167(M) has the double deck section
Hi, I came across your video and I was wondering if I can use the song in this video.
Hi mate, thank you for watching. Yeah of course you can, no need to ask at all
That place looks familiar 😉
Sorry it’s taken a while to upload it
Nice drive, not many 2 lane motorways about I was on this M26 in 1996 driving from France in my Nissan Sunny, heading for Cardiff for a few days before the long drive back to Wrexham on the A470/A483
P.s Nice to hear Tears for Fears, Every body wants to rule the world 12 inch version from 1985, I've got this record back in the day
Thank you very much for the comments, appreciate it And yeah it’s a great track ☺️
Love video
Nice
Thanks mate, sorry it’s a short one
Nice video, shame it's so short
Thank you and yeah it is a bit
Nice to have but its really pointless its similar to the A3(M) but at least that serves a purpose even if it may not see the M27 completion, this on the other hand just forces prohibited traffic to go through the neighbouring towns and villages
Aye it’s a strange classification but can’t beat a bit of quirkiness like this sometimes
@@driving_all_over true
Hello when are you going to make a m20 video? Can you also please make a Leeds to Hull M62 video and a Liverpool to Manchester M62 video please.
Is there a currys nearby?
Haha unfortunately not 😂
Great video 😀 thank you for making this, it's very relaxing
Thank you very much ☺️
Blimey mate, well done, four countries in a day and a heck of a lot of miles, your buggest video yet and I'm guessing your biggest drive too?
5 mate not 4 Just under 500 in total in the end so by far my biggest drive. Even getting up to Stranraer was my longest distance without stopping for a break.
@driving_all_over oh yeah all 5 haha mammoth effort mate good job
Thank you ❤️
Love this! sat staring in a trance as I floated down the A1...dangerous ole road that A1. I thought you were going all the way to Dublin but you turned at Newry and came back...still watched..great music, thanks for sharing
Thank you for watching, appreciate it. Yeah it’s certainly a fast road and I’m assuming some of the junctions on it had lighting because of how dangerous they are. As I was staying in Belfast for a few days the plan for this drive was always to go as far as Dundalk just to say I’d driven south of the border but if I ever do something like that again I’ll definitely attempt to get down to Dublin 🙂
I noticed you went back on yourself like at 1:02:00 and 1:07:55 just to end up where you started, Why was that? that must have been exhausting driving from before 10am and finishing near midnight, you really pushed yourself there and I could never do that, I could perhaps make it 4hrs tops before needing to take a nap and start again in the morning, the journey you took in 1 day, I could probably do in 4 or more days, well done mate, that's monumental and impressive driving from south Wales (not far from where I live) going through most of England and through Scotland and Northern and the Republic of Ireland in a day, Wow
Thank you very much, I’d planned this a while back when I first started booking the trip as I wanted to see if it was possible to drive in all 5 of them in one day so was glad to complete it. I’ve got extended family in the north east of England so I’m used to being both a driver and passenger on trips like that. Regarding the two time stamps you mentioned, the first one was deliberate as I’d already decided to go as far as Dundalk once crossing the border. The second one however was more unfortunate as I’d gone through Lisburn due to M1 north being closed but hadn’t realised A512 was shut too so what looks like a doubling back on myself at that roundabout was actually me making a left turn albeit with a full circuit involved as well.
@@driving_all_over never the less it's still impressive that you did that I only have family as far as Birmingham
Great video, I really enjoyed that! The A75 was better than I expected. I'd thought it'd be a bit of a goat track, while not great, it looks like it has several overtaking lanes, initially anyway!!!!
Thank you very much for watching and I’m glad you did ☺️ Aye overtaking lanes aside that road was probably the worst part of the whole drive
for the future if possible could you sort out the camera angle to get an even view of both sides, great video though
Thank you Yeah I’ll try to, think it’s just the way I cropped it
@@driving_all_over I used to crop mine as well
Some tunnels only have a single solid white line down the middle of the road, this isn’t even mentioned in the Highway Code, does it have the same meaning as double white lines where the line nearest to you is solid?
Yeah it isn’t very consistent but they both mean the same thing I think
Thank you so much.
Nice video 😀 It's not a particularly interesting motorway but I like the M26 because it's where the signs for the ferries and Channel Tunnel begin. Will there be M20 videos coming soon?
Thank you and hopefully I’ll get it done soon
Nice mate, the North Downs Way runs to the side of that, I've walked it and you drove it haha
Ah nice one mate
Nice one mate
Thank you ☺️
Great video, wish I was in the car with you going through that large tunnel.
Maybe one day!
Never seen a tunnel that widens at the end portal, was it a cut and cover tunnel?
I don’t think so but I’ll have to double check
Nice mate
Thanks mate
Nice video, is there a reason why this wasn't built as a motorway despite being an extension of M1?
Thank you, and I’m not too sure. I’m guessing due to budget cuts but the troubles would have probably played a part in it as well
Nice mate
Thanks mate 👍
I wonder if the proposals are still ongoing for the redesign of where it meets the M2
They were on hold the last time I heard. Hopefully it gets done soon
Nice mate 👌
Thanks mate
Nice road. Sad that it rained but that's Irish weather I guess. Funny that the Irish decided that the outer shoulder line should be yellow instead of the inner line like many countries do.
Cheers mate, yeah unfortunately Irish weather is very similar to UK weather sometimes Yeah it’s certainly different
