Michael Moore was born in Cashel, Co. Tipperary in 1948. Here he tells the story of his life in music from his days in Cashel Brass band to the heights of the showband era of the 1960's. In a career that spanned three decades he recounts some of the highs and lows of life on the road as a full time musician.

Here he recalls the involvement of his Uncle Charley and grandfather William in the Great War (1914-1918) and his father Joe's time in the IRA and later the Free State Army. The story of the Moores is not a unique one. Over 500 Cashelmen fought in the Great War. 42 are known to have died.

This is amazing. Listening to her speak reminds me so much of my mom. I'm trying to find any relatives we may have in the Cashel area. My mom was born in the county home/Presentation Convent on June 5, 1925, Mary Lonergan. Mother on birth cert was listed as Johanna Lonergan, and that is about all I have. She was raised in the Presentation Convent, until she left and went to London for work.
