King Kunta - Kunta Kinta was the protagonist of 'Roots' a 70s tv series about a Slave that resisted his master and got his foot cut off because he always tried to run away. The song is about resistance knowing that you'll pay some cost. 4. Institutionalized - Is about freeing ones self from a scarcity mindset and institualized racism. Also showing Kendrick's maturity whilst his friends still had a 'hood' mentality. 5. These Wall - First off the "Walls" is both a woman's vagina and prison walls. The song recounts Kendrick taking revenge on an enemy by having sex with their woman while the enemy is in prison. 6. U - It's about self-loathing. Kendrick in a hotel room getting drunk. The 'U' is Kendrick, he's regretful of his past action. 7. Alright - If you can't figure out the meaning of this song, then you're just a dumb@$$ lol. 8. For Sale? - Luci is Lucifer aka the Devil, Kendrick is being tempted by to sale his 'Soul'. It can also be seen as the music industry tempting him.

Never before have I listened to reaction where I thought the reactor did a great job, but still should do a second review. Because you should really read the lore and meaning about the album and then go back in and react to it with lyrics for you to read and let let us see.

Not sure if you noticed but the entire song of U is him talking to himself. It's a song about self hatred for the pain he feels he has caused his home town of Compton for leaving and "making it" in the industry, and the people he left behind. If you read the lyrics with this in mind it hits a lot harder.
