The Spirit of Rush - HOPE (instrumental)

😮
half the world.. so true
this was shortly after i saw them in mansfield mass. they were at their peak here i believe. so the universe had to chop them down shortly after. life sucks sometimes.
He makes it look so damn easy…
Magic
From :16 to :19, very sneaky Alex Lifeson. If the intro is driving you crazy look there. Its the one time that riff varies.
Top 5 of all time.
I finally got it, Alex was in charge in making the other guys feel good on stage. Any time he approaches Geddy or Neil they begin to smile. Watch him during Limelight.
Fantastic show
That was beautiful !
Most underrated guitarist of all time.. blah blah blah
Neil gave it his all until the very end !!! I love these guys!
Geddy's Vocals ❤❤
I actually really dig the Test For Echo record. And I was to be able to hears those songs live.
Waiting for him to screw up the riff so I can start a conspiracy theory.
That bass!
That minute 4:21 is called the Eff Me Sideways riff!!! ❤
Saw this with my friend Peter Horoyski, sitting on the lawn. Totally forgot they ever opened with Tom Sawyer, but I well remember the chills I got watching that intro. They look so friggin' young!
Thank god for rush 🤘🏻
Wow. This album was released when I was 15 years old. Absolutely changed our (friends and I) lives.
I brought my kids to this concert....great show
You know,, a good player can throw down during a jam.. but to perform like that in a sterile environment like He just did!! He’s great 😊
Pretty good, for a beginner!
I love this concert and wish more of it was included here. I've seen them on 7 different tours before this one. They usually play over 2 hours, so I wonder if the actual full concert is out there somewhere? I like how they let the drums take up more space in the Grand Finale, (i.e.) no solo from Alex in that section so it's kind of a mini solo for Peart's fills. It puts more of a deserving spotlight on him during that part. RIP Professor.
Sup with the tuning on that bass geddy is playing on half the world? Im a bassist. It looks like only the E string is tuned down to drop D but none of the other strings. Thats unusual.
Economy of movement. Brilliant.
Eddie who? Alex can play the guitar so much better. One of the greatest guitarists of all time.
Play that Diane sawyer song
uma das melhores músicas !
He did a nice job with that! Way to go Alex! :)
Watching Alex will make you want to give up guitar. Watching Geddy will make you want to give up bass. Watching Neal will make you want to give up drums. Fuck, these guys were amazing. 🤩
Just remind me when i was 10 y.o...watched on VHS
I was there, and it was amazing
I went to a Rush only once in my life, it was at Molson Centre (currently Bell Centre) in Montreal back in 1997. It was one of the last 4 concerts of the long Test for Echo Tour. As strange as it was for me to watch a concert sitting-down, next to people I didn't know (I went by myself), it was one of the best shows that I have ever watched live. The level of precision of everything (sound, visuals, performance) was mind-blowing. I loved the whole show, but watching Rush perform 2112 in its entirety was what remains vividly in my mind. RIP NP. Long live Rush!
How did he get to be so good at 17 he was playing in rush and he progressed extremely fast from album to album, and he knows music theory didn't even graduate high school self taught
In my opinion, Alex Lifeson is the BEST guitarist of all time👍
The way his fingers dance across the frets in the opening is unreal, like how the hell do you get that dexterous and precise, this man is the stuff of legends
Such power and precision. Just pure talent.
He can be nice & intelligent if he wants but actually, in real life Alex lifeson is an absolute prick. Don't believe me though, that's just about anybody in the music industry or any real reporter. He has mellowed with age but what I say the absolute truth because he was drunk a majority of the time and he was a real douchebag. And now everybodys saying he's this great guy? Puke... most of this is an act for real. Meet him in real life away from the cameras and tell me what you think. Everything I've said is true and it's not my opinion but it's an absolute fact between people that know him. It's the reason why Neil Peart didn't even really like him.
Nonchalant greatness......
Saw both concerts in Toronto..first night..on the lawn..hammered..lol. .second night..10th row..no alcohol..tonnes of hash..all in all..I was catapulted into another dimension ..RUSH MY ALL TIME FAVE BAND FOR ALL ETERNITY
Unforgettable! Thanks for posting.
At 1:03:16 i was so taken back to why i loved this band in the first place…. Decades later after this song was written the 3 of them have the power, dedication and tenacity to make me feel like i was a kid again listening to them in my teens. It’s unbelievable that the 3 of them can still pull off not just their old songs but play each one as if i was in a time going back to the 70s and 80s effortlessly… I will always be amazed at the musicianship the 3 of them gave to all of us fans throughout the years…. Greatness!!
What I loved about Rush is how each musician in the band was a true artist in their own right who really focused on their craft individually. Which is why they sounded so amazing as a 3 man band collectively!
Man i love this guy, he seems to just breathe music and he really knows his stuff. I love these interviews
This guy’s covers are always spot on.
I've been a Rush fan since the early 80's, I'm also a musician and I can tell Alex is miming...it can't sound EXACTLY the same as it did on the studio album. Many bands, almost all, have made video clips where what is heard is the song recorded in the studio, then, live, they may be better or worse, but it is still impossible to sound the same. The only part where a layered guitar plays is in the final solo starting at 4:24 Alex here is playing those notes, and the sound of him changes.
nice cover bro, keep trying
Imagine "hey, play Spirit of Radio", okay...whatever
I cant even play the bass part...
I was annoyed by this song the first time I heard it. Second time around it moved close to the top of my favorites and remains there today.
That's how it happens sometimes. This song is a gem
