      @@TheKnittyninaDiaries when Patricia Campbell visited us she liked my tools I used (I used to work in surgery, esp doing eyes) I used eye scissors, the tips weren't working anymore, so we could keep them after they were checked out. I gave her a set of scissors for her work, she loved them. I really love your quilt. That is very time consuming, you have alot done already. I loved the idea of doing the centers in the same material, great idea 💡. Right now, I'm doing a marathon of sock making, for the kids & their kids. Not sure how many I'll get done but will keep working lol Take care. Enjoy your summer ☀️

    Hello Doris! I'm so happy I found your diaries :-) I'm working on my Snow Crocus as we speak, and your tips were so helpful. The alphabet stitch markers are genius for something like this! I'll admit, I was intimidated by the pattern at first. I even tried to find a similar pattern that was seemed less complicated. But I just loved the sweater so much, and had recently taught myself to cable without a cable needle (an essential skill, IMO!), so dove right in. I did take the time to read the pattern all the way through to understand the work flow (it's a little different than typical top-down sweaters). I'm also planning to modify the sleeves - my arms aren't long enough to carry the big cuff, so the balloon part will hit around my elbow! Instead, I'm planning to work the balloon part right above my wrist, and then just an inch or so of ribbing (inspired by the sleeves on Andrea Mowry's Framed sweater). I did do the folded collar and just love the structure. I'm using Camellia Fiber Som DK (a blend of baby alpaca, cotton, and merino; supersoft and light!) held with La Bien Aimee Volute (laceweight cashmere and merino), both in a creamy white. After seeing your lavender version , I'm thinking I must do another in that color :-) Looking forward to your next update!

      Hi Annette! Thank you so much for your lovely comment!! So happy to that you watched the episode!! • @TheKnittyninaDiaries
      @TheKnittyninaDiaries 11 месяцев назад

      Hi Dorothy! Thank you for your comment and for watching!! Great question!... I would say that if you can print the chart and use transparent 2 color tapes to guide you. Assign one color to the row you are working on and the other color to the row below. This will allow you to see how your color repeats are accurate based on the row below...you will see if you are knitting each step correctly according to where they sit on top of the row below from the row you are working. Hope this makes sense and help you. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out. Happy Knitting! ❤️

    Doris!!!! Loved all of this. You are not only beautiful, but so multi-talented. Wow. Your socks are sweet. Your quilt, oh I love it. Hugs and kisses are so fabulous. Your skill is really amazing. The handmade animals belonging to your uncle and dad are priceless. I am glad you are cherishing them. That picture you made your aunt, that came back to you- wow! I never heard of that before. Your embroidery is beautiful. I used to embroider, but not very well. I did a lot of bleeding 😂. Loved chatty Lilly. So darling. Thanks for pressing through...i am so blessed. ❤

    Have missed you. Lovely projects as always. Most of my projects are on my Ravelry page, needlesnifty. I'm currently working on 3 projects, The Beekeeper Quilt which will be ongoing till the end of the year, a jumper by Martin Storey using up stash yarn and also a crazy crochet granny cardigan using up more scrap yarn. Hoping to finish the jumper and cardigan by the end of August xx

    The socks are pretty, too. Love the color combination. Hot pink is my new favorite color! Did TAAT socks once, yup not for me. It took me 2 years to finish. I prefer chiaogoo 9" circulars, one at a time. I find magic loop a pain with all the cord yanking. Lol, we all like our knitting certain ways, right?!

    Love your Magnolia, such a great color for you, and it really looks beautiful on you too. Love the colors for your Icelandic cardigan. Pretty. Would love a tutorial on your sleeves (cuff/tubular). I've never tried it before. Looks so nice. Thank you. Wish you lived close so you could mentor me in knitting( and maybe sewing). Lovely sitting with you tonight. 😃

    Hi Doris! Great episode! The magnolia sweater is beautiful. Great job! I will try your tip about adding to your Ravelry library. I only have a few knitiing magazines so shouldn’t take long. I love your color choices and pattern for the fair isle. I think that a little pop of the darker pink in the powder blue would be really striking.
