This has been a great video! My only issue is I cant get my L2 and R2 buttons to work on Linux
Yeah that's a problem with Frontier in general, either your triggers work or they don't.
Not sure if this applies to PC as well, but I had this issue on my steam deck, and the solution I found was to switch the functions of the L2/R2 with L1/R1 respectively. Hope this helps

If you're a gunner, you can go for the exotic nargacuga fairly early in HR5. He's not that hard.

@@victorribeiro1220 which ones? Some are translated because their dialogue matters. Others aren't. As long as you can read the necessary dialogue and quests, that's all that matters. Just follow the guides

Nah that is just a bunch of metal bits held together by webbing. The EDW is a living monstrosity made up of like 30 wyvern stitched together.

The Devs of TFD are good with communication and transparency with the players. I feel its only a matter of time before they fix exp leveling and as well as the movement. But i disagree with your take on long times when building. in warframe a regular frame and a prime both have a 3 day build time. while tfd has a build time of 35 hours for a ult and a regular is like a few hours.
I have no faith in Nexon to do things that benefit the player, however your other point is fair. I admit I genuinely forgot how long crafting times are because I speed them up with platinum. However, the premium currency trading system in Warframe is what makes that possible so I'd still say crafting is in favor of Warframe.
I’d say one of the biggest strengths with tfd is that the devs actually make changes that the community wants. I remember ppl complaining about wf’s lack of endgame and several years later there still isn’t an endgame. Other than that I agree with everything else you said in the video
I understand where you're coming from, but one of the best parts about Warframe is that there's no endgame because there's always more content being added imo. That being said, idk what's been added in TFD since I dropped it, but that weapon level transfer system is just too big a deal breaker for me unfortunately 😔

What if I hate Warframe's character design though? From what I've seen, all the armors/warframes look misshapen, deformed and/or "organic". I get that's how it's supposed to be, but it's not really for me. I tried it a few times over the years but it just never clicked.
If you don't vibe with Warframe's visual aesthetic then yeah there's not really much that can be done about that. I'd still say there's probably a better game than TFD you could play though unless literally all you care about is waifus, in which case go nuts I guess.
Hello, veteran GW2 player here who came from your MonHun vids. Loved the video overall but i do want to say that when you talk about toughness = aggro that is not actually the case. There are specific encounters which will have an enemy target the player with the highest toughness, however aggro as a whole is an inconsistent mechanic and how a player generates threat (and thus subsequently gains aggro) can vary quite a bit. As far as I am personally aware aggro can be gained via having the most toughness, being the closest/furthest player to the enemy, doing high damage in a short window, or by performing fight specific mechanics. At a baseline toughness will only affect your armor rating and make you take less strike damage. Sidenote, the Zhaitan fight was complete dogshit with or without a group and without spoiling anything the rest of the elders get much better treatment, with Heart of Thorns having my personal favorite of the bunch. Second sidenote, on the topic of stamina there is a boon called vigor which increases the rate of recovery in combat. Other classes also have traits which can either increase the regen speed or outright give stamina back, although necro specifically has a lack of these type of traits and has more of a focus on health management. Personally I would recommend having either a weapon or utility skill dedicated to mobility, for necro specifically the warhorn can grant swiftness which is a nice buff to movement speed with another skill providing a strong cc to further mitigate damage.
Thanks for the clarification! I went looking for a reason as to why I kept getting focused down when I had all of my minions out and all I could find was the toughness thing so I assumed that's all there was to it. Also good to hear later Elder Dragon fights are better, I'm hoping to get around to Heart of Thorns in the near future!

Knowing the few things I know about frontier… yeah, I can see why that would turn into something that feels like a job. Your progression guide made me a bit intrigued to give it at least a look, but I dunno. I know I could never finish it, there’s just too much damn content in that game and for what? I get to use the tonfas and the magnet spike at the very end? Nah, it’s a fun curiosity, but I’m not about to slog through it just for that.
Tbh you can get to G Rank and play with the new weapons in like 10 hours, but yah Frontier is definitely something to experience in small amounts

Are you playing on a public server or your own? The community edition client is prepatched with the translation now. As for the controller thing what problem are you having?
@@reinverseVT I Got the game to be in English, but it took me awhile to get a controller to work. I dont know what you mean if Im on a public server? I join the "International" one on the loader. Im not familiar with other servers?
Oh wow you're just raw dogging the game huh. Typically you'd bind a character on a public server's discord (like Rain) which would also have the most recent community edition of the client and links to further patches (currently the My Tore and Diva quest line translations are a separate download). I might make a video on controller issues though because I know some people have trouble getting the triggers to work which makes opening some menus impossible without rebinding.

I do still recommend joining the discord for the server you're playing on and binding your character that way you can back it up and even transfer to another server down the line if you choose. Not sure who runs "International" tho

I'm suprised you mentioned the Toukiden wiki, I'm an admin there, but you can see large Oni's weaknesses in Shūsui's encyclopedia instead. And assuming you're in Chapter 4, there are at least 2 more water weapons you can make.
I referenced the wiki a lot during my playthrough tbh, mostly for drops and mitama skills so I wouldn't waste time doing the wrong stuff. Super cool that it exists at all!
An any % Shantien speedrun would be cool or Frontier challenge videos, such as “beating frontier without Ai” or “beating frontier with earth style” etc
Brother it will be a cold day in hell before I speedrun Frontier 💀But beating difficult monsters with the basic style does sound interesting so I'll add it to the list!

You just select high graphics in the settings, as for the names I'm pretty sure it's like that by default

@@juandeluna1976 I'd say drop rates are about the same as mainline but it's way more grindy since it's a decade worth of content

HR6 is the fucking worst and yet no ONE talks deeply about it HR5 is great, fun with new monsters and mechanics but all goes to shit with supremacy monsters I swear, I did solo all of the HR6 quests ALLL OF THEM and I could never kill anything, all my quests ended with repels and that sucked someone should make a guide to survive HR6 alone because fuck being carried like a n00b
My advice would be to use your partner at the very least if you're intending to play alone tbh
@@reinverseVT definitely, Partner is a GODSEND specially when mixed with support items and weapons the silver and golden lavasioth would be IMPOSSIBLE without a partner haha
@@dxrbkn5145 I did Arganos and Golganos solo on CN servers while the game was live because I didn't know how to use the partner 💀
Toukiden is still my favorite "Not-MonHun" game to come out of that era. It's way closer than Soul Sacrifice and Freedom Wars.
I definitely enjoyed my time with it. Have you played the sequel? I'm curious to know what that's like before I dive into it later next month.
@@reinverseVT I did. They added a new weapon that acts a bit like Charge Blade in Monster Hunter. I feel the story was much improved as well. It's also open world, so I'm looking forward to see how Wilds does its open world. There's other new weapons like a whip and the demon claw is a lot like Nero's arm in DMC4.
