I used to have this dvd as a kid. I found it at Target while shopping with my mom. I was super happy when she let me get it. My friend (she's my stepsister now) and I would watch together in the car and at home. And we would pretend to be ponies and perform all the songs in the show. Good old nostalgia. 🌈🦄🐎🥰

I was big into G3 right before the franchise transitioned from the earlier world of the specials [shout out to Princess Promenade and Minty Christmas especially] to Core 7, and when I was younger, I began to notice how all the minifigures were slowly phasing out of toy store shelves (I could kick myself for getting rid of all my playsets now, but still have a sizeable box full of so many of the early g3 minifigs) but never really put 2 and 2 together until I got older. I think Twinkle Wish was the nail in the coffin, not just for me personally, but for the entire world of G3. I still hold G3 very dear to my heart, but I wouldn't get back into MLP until the hard reboot of FiM. You hit the nail on the head through and through, though, Core 7 feels like it was trying to retcon so much of what was established earlier on in the direct to movie specials, and it sanitized everything that made G3 fun, whimsical and exciting for a kid in the early 2000s. Honestly, I have my suspicions that FiM's Mane 6 (or, 8 at this point, Starlight and Sunset aside) was made to correct Core 7's mistakes and to re-establish a world like G1, G2 (somewhat) and G3 did pre-Core 7. This was a fantastic video, I loved how concise you were. [Also, Minty, Wisteria and Kimono should've been in Core 7, my mind cannot be changed]

Honestly my theory as to why Rachel and Alicia dumped Brook all of a sudden is the same as the original: they were horrified that Brooke was willing to do something so bad to Savannah, hence why they dumped her. But also because Savannah was the new popular girl so yeah... (⁠・⁠∀⁠・⁠)

I love the original, but i do think the remake wrote savannah better. In the original savannah is kind of a "can do no wrong character" and has an outstanding lack of character flaws. The only consequences she gets are because of misunderstandings and usually the fault of other characters instead of being deserved consequences for her own decicions. She's always played off as either the hero or the victim.

This video needs more attention. I love how funny, informative and well pasted the whole video is. The visuals and sound effects are just so hilarious. Yesterday I rewatched the whole lps remake movies and god knows how much I wanted this type of essay video talking about how great the characters are. You did justice for both iconic series.

i know this is a kinda old video, but i remember watching this when it was first uploaded. i remembered reading this webcomic as a kid and this made me reread all of it. i understand it more now, even if its pretty dated now, haha. may give it another read since its been over a year

I recently discovered both series and immediately became obsessed with them, and your analysis really helped me understand the characters better and develop a much better understanding about what really resonated with me regarding these series. Thank you for all the work you put into this! The random memes are hilarious and I might be using some in text messages with friends 💀

I spent 100 on Sage model, 70 on a Brooke model all authentic and I’m about to spend 234 on a Savannah model that is also authentic 😢

Honestly one of the reasons I really want lps popular to continue is to see an expansion of josh and lana, like.. they randomly come in, there’s this mysterious aura around them and as everyone knows, there hasn’t been an episode in years and it literally makes me claw at my skin how much potential their characters have and how much their characters feel like cliff hangers!!! i guess this can be said about the series as a whole but i really feel like it applies to those two specifically a lot more 😭😭 i feel like im the only one who feels this way given how i haven’t seen anyone else have any curiosities abt them but oh well lol

FELLOW LPSP REMAKE ENJOYER!! THIS VIDEO IS SO GOOD. I have already talked in detail in the remakes comments but you’ve hit a ton of the same points I’ve thought of/talked about too. Before I even talk about this video, I want to say that you are so clever, insightful, and genuinely funny that every second of this long video was a delight. I never usually watch long video essays, but this was so well made I barely noticed how long it was. Not a boring moment. You really have a talent for this. Now for me to say THANK YOU SO MUCH. I feel so SEEN, so HEARD, so UNDERSTOOD right now. You perfectly got everything I was ever going for in my story, and to hear you in such detail enthuse over my films has warmed my heart more than you'll ever know. The research you did, the way you looked beyond even the videos themselves, the way you put all the little clues together is something so special. I know how much work it is to make a video like this, and it just makes me appreciate all your effort even more. Well considering core 7 never had an actual show outside 7 shorts that came with toys..you can't really compare it to the others. There was written material that went into a bit more detail about extra facets to thier personality that would have been explored if not for FIM being created.
