Hi Dave loving the content. Quick question how often is your van fully loaded in size or weight in a month?
@@nigeholmes8226 not too often, maybe 5/6 times a month

It’s only going to get worse. From next year you will have to have a taco and a cpc card
If Marcus Rashford and me both insure our legs on a template insurance, we will both get a template payout. Marcus needs to specify beforehand that his legs have much higher value to him - and pay appropriate premium. If somebody in Manchester runs an electric bike into a strolling Rashy, nobody can take their terraced house away just because those legs are precious. Same goes for a company that values their very specific goods very highly. It's very sensible you operate as limited company for numerous reasons - don't sign any personal promises in very fine print anywhere - that is, to accept liability as the driver - which would then be you, personally. This should be enough. Secondly - you are not a deep pocket, which is usually not preferred, but it is in this case :-)) If the cargo has a value of £1 million to the client, your 200K house share wouldn't really make a difference, and legal procedures could cost them almost as much as that.
Who are you😮 and what did you do with Dave 😢 because Dave hates sleeping rough 😴 more than he hates Manchester United [or appropriate team name here]😂 Way back when I did the markets to get a decent spot for Saturday you had to arrive Friday and 🏕 camp. I had a 1982 Ford f250, i believe 🤔 it was the only truck that I could stretch out in the cab. The next truck, I literally had to open the door and let my legs dangle 😂 naturally I got a camper shell and moved into the back like you decided to do. 🚚
They elected 🍊 again. If things get bad, may I come stay in your garden shed? 😬😂

Been on cx nearly 2yrs haven't made more than 900 wk since starting at minute hard to make that 650 700 wk to many drivers to little work
I've had £1300 days in the past.. Struggle to get £130 for a London- liverpool nowadays, yet 4 years ago I could get £500+ and the phone would usually ring within 4mins of bidding on said job.
On the insurance question, you should have ‘terms and conditions of carriage’ on your website or company paperwork. I would suggest that you clearly state your maximum ‘GIT value insured’ and suggest clients with higher value consignments should insure themselves. We say a maximum of £1000 per consignment in our terms and reserve the right to self-insure, which I do. Hope that helps mate👍🏻👊🏼
@@clivelittlewood thanks Clive most appreciated
If a company is transporting goods valued up to £1 million and relies on the cheapest available CX driver, are they not inviting trouble? Similarly, leaving valuable items in the van overnight on the street at the lowest cost, knowing that GIT won't cover it overnight, seems equally risky.
Hi mate, need to do this on my account where can I find this
No Dave, nothing in Trustd to prevent that. It’s almost impossible to police and you will always have the bad apples taking the p…
Hi! Dave what are your thoughts on UN 3373 CAT B There at least 2 Shippers out there that consistently post hospital collection & delivery jobs on the CX with No mention of what will be collected & delivered only to find that 9/10 that this UN 3373 is to be collected & delivered when challenged about this they plead ignorance & refuse any additional charges. I believe it to be ADR class 6 and should be paid as such, but i suspect these Shippers are deliberately posting these hospital job’s with NO details to get cheap bids from the majority of Drivers if they post it as an ADR job they know theres a minority of ADR drivers out there & would cost more & less profit for them as i’m sure they would be charging the NHS at an ADR rate. What do you think am i right or wrong 🤔
@@vanroamin it’s category 6 infectious substance and I would charge an ADR rate to transport it. Some companies will try to say if it’s small amounts it’s under scope and not ADR. The law is supposed to be changing in 2025 to cut out any loopholes. I’d personally avoid it if I wasn’t ADR
Hi boss. Actually im interested to start my job with cx but i dont know what shall i do first time and how to start?. Would you please help me?
Hi Dave, Christmas tw@ts are out early this year. 100% agree with you, rates are ridiculous but have been for a while on cx. I'll be quitting in the new year after 2 years on cx. It's not justifiable to be paying that kind of money for those rates.
Nearly 1 million new Britons being added to the economy every year. This is a low skill/low entry job. You think it's bad now (for the driver) just give it another few years. The previous government said clearly their aim to control inflation was to flatten the curve of wage increases. The only way to flatten the curve is to increase supply (of drivers) which drives down prices. This isn't a bedroom shipper problem, this is being actively led by our leaders. It is supposed to help the economy by encouraging new Britons to enter our workforce with unreal expectations. Raul (Romanian RUclips truck driver) is leaving the UK for basically these reasons. I have no issues with new Britons. They're being lied to as much as we are. Country is f**cked. It's time to get out
Just Eat pays better to deliver McDonald’s. If you pick the right jobs when parked next to McDonald’s you can get £1.50/mile and covering mileage back to McDonald’s.
I agree with your anger and frustration. However I think your target is wrong. Shippers are simply businesses. They don't know about our costs to run, and there's no need for them to. They're not charities, they're businesses seeking to maximise their profits. If drivers will do a 50 mile job for them in the way they want for £25, then why would they pay more? Equally, I don't think it's on us drivers for going too cheap. We all do it when we're desperate. When we need to get our wheels turning, we do what needs to be done or we quit the industry! The fault, IMO, is with the CX. They have a virtual monopoly. There are no serious competitors to them out there. They therefore control the health of the ecosystem. It should be in their interests, for their long term health, to keep it balanced. They fail to do that. They just take on more and more drivers, beyond the levels of work that are available - that leaves desperate drivers and shippers that know they can cover work for peanuts. It will eventually find balance again - it has to, because as you say, it's becoming impossible to make a living out of the CX - the question is how many of us have to quit before that happens!
Hey Dave, been following your videos over the last few weeks. You drove past my street on this one in Royton 😂 I’m trying to obtain as much info as possible as I would like to start up myself & your doing a great job sharing your daily activities/experience
After 4 Years we are finishing at the end of the year. Never had a bad feed back in that time We have found that we have held our price but are being undercut right left and centre I think the CX has shot its self in the head I agree 100% with you
So ends the non political rant by Dave on behalf of The Couriers Collective !

Don’t get me wrong Dave , I agree with what you’re saying. It’s demoralising having to bid so low, Recently I had to go to 68.5p which isn’t what I know I’m worth. New vans don’t grow on trees !
Desperation of drivers getting prayed on cx.

Not had one job this week Not earned a penny some people do anything for pennies 😢😮😅
Today, you have had a run over some suicidal dudes who , either don't know the business and its parameters or simply don't care as they never deploy their thinking when undercutting rates . The bedroom shippers would not exist if they didn't have suicidal guys on CX, time will be the best judge
If you didn't notice, the biggest companies already start doing they own platforms. like Crown couriers. They are posting on CX only trash jobs that nobody wants to do...A lot of big companies doesen't post on CX anymore. Also these days the bedroom shippers are not only the small companies. For example, Today Team 80% off the jobs are posted as Back Loads (trash people in here)....Other example of scumbags are Red Rocket couriers (Manchester and London); they are fake....they are asking the drivers to post reviews as customers on they're google account. Some companies block me, i wasn't sure why, i tought i may did something wrong, i called them, i didn't even done a job for them, they said they block probably because i bidded to high, so i am to expensive
Can't believe the rates you couriers are having to work for i was getting 80 p a mile uk and £1 a mile European pluse ferrys over 18 years ago .every thing went tits up when eastern block countries joined eu. Our back loads were there front loads we're there back loads were our front loads we could not compete with them shippers and large transport firms started to use them as they would do it for half the price often fkn the jobs up. blame greedy companies at the end of the day its about profits .working direct for a company is always more profitable as long as you prepared to work 24/7 and be good a reliable service.
The CX is like a rollercoaster. Up and down during the year. As soon as a little quiter prices drop through it's ass. Prices do seem to be lower than ever. Luckily I am getting quite a bit of work from someone who pays reasonably well and the jobs cover all miles(home to home). The days I do have to get jobs from the CX it is rare that I get a reasonable price or actually just don't go out as I am not willing to work for the kind of money on offer. It.does seem to have gotten worse over the last few years. This is the only industry where there apparently is not a cost of living crisis.
I’m lucky that I don’t have to use the cx and thank god, I’ve got just 2 customers that keep me busy (flat out infact) 5 days a week……. Saw you earlier today flying down the M5, betty blue was crying out for a bath 😂😂😂. Happy driving Dave
Hi Dave... I can only agree with everything you say about earning a reasonable living. As you know i am not on the CX and i have regulars only. Those people who are prepared to do our work very cheaply, are in fact robbing themselves of reasonable wages in the future. You mentioned insurance costs (all very true) as well as needing to swap the van at some point in the future. Those working for very low wages dont really care sbout all of that. Very probably they ain't insured correctly, and buying an old high mileage van from time to time costs them very little. You have spelled all of this out correctly. Keep those wheels turning snd keep earning 👍
Good afternoon Dave 😊 love a good old rant especially from someone that knows his onions 🧅 On a positive Rodri got the Ballon D’dor 🤩 Hopefully you’ll have a big smile on your face tonight when City beat Tottenham 😍
Shippers are under no obligation to know drivers costs, and also why do they have to have driven before? You say they are only concerned about profits! , well yeh of course they are it’s called business you may not like it but that’s the way it is. It’s down to drivers to bid what they want for the job not the shipper. Low bids are nothing to do with the shipper.
@@MichaelKilburn true they have no obligation but they should have an ethical code. That’s just my opinion of course and I accept what you say
@ an ethical code? Come on mate get real 🤣
@ I’m only spouting off my opinion and of course people will continue to bid stupidly low because that’s the real world, but they’ll put themselves out of business
@ on the CX you’re probably up against drivers just wanting to get home with some fuel money no matter where you are in the country and you’ll always lose out to those guys
It’s not individual drivers. Majority of real world drivers know their costs and business. It’s the syndicated outfits who are driving the industry dry. One CX membership with a fleet of rust bucket vans mostly not insured for hire and reward and driven by cheap Labour desperate drivers. These outfits are thriving and increasing in number. It’s not difficult at all to identify and root them out either.
there's a youtuber on now talking about charging 10% to drivers coming on his account....also a firm on a FB group advertising for drivers to do the same
@@shaungilmartin1505 it gets worse
Hi Mr Grumpiest @anvil logistics . Great video like always. I have used quite few drivers to do the job and from personal experience - if someone offers to do the job for price of 50-60p per mile - better make sure they have a good reason to go so low. Otherwise expect only troubles. I did sold job recently for 80p a mile. But its been 600 mile trip thats included return, so driver had 0 dead miles. I think thats one of few situations, where if its lot of miles and no dead miles its acceptable to bid low.
10:45 😂
Strangely today M1 services have NO! Fuel is that them holding onto it to make more money after the Budget 🤔
Well said Dave 👍 couldn’t agree with you more.
I’ve said this before, with No barriers to entry, cx is totally reliant on new members coming in not knowing the true costs/ what they need to operate. They ultimately run at a loss “shipper” gets a great rate driver ultimately goes under and shipper stays on and the cycle continues. Some who watch RUclips videos hear other drivers say “on target” day and may think a £1k in a small van a week is good but cost of service in comparison to takings is very relevant. People who are joining cx are hoping for a good income for a decent weeks work but not everyone can get it.
Hi Dave, I agree with your theory about 'Bedroom shippers' but what puzzles me is how do the get on the CX without submitting documentation re insurances etc?
@@HectorMunro-j1d I really don’t know the workings
I'd say its fairly easy. I've seen people who have accounts that allow other people to use them. In which case cx doesn't really have control who they sublet the accounts to.
@@gregoriovicarian5961 Absolutely true
A flaw in the CX allows any member to download any other members documents in pdf format. anyone with a bit of PC know how can then edit them with a pdf editor and then upload them as there own TRUSTD do not scrutinise documents they just look for an in-date one with the correct name & Co. Maybe thats how these bedroom shippers are getting on CX 🤔
