Simplicity Legacy Backhoe - Digging a walkway
This is a video using my Legacy backhoe to dig up my old walkway between my house and garage. I am missing some footage as I shot it 4 years ago but figured I'd share what I had. You will notice I stop and add a bolt on thumb kit part way through as I found I had lots of large rocks hidden in the soil. Hope you enjoy. I'll try make more exciting content this summer with the backhoe.

Ford diesel tractor vs Ariens GT snowblower comparison
Просмотров 7 тыс.2 года назад
A new rear mount snowblower attachment for $2000 or should you buy a used Garden tractor? Lots of things to consider but hopefully this will show how they compare at snow removal.

Ariens GT Snowblower Teardown Timelapse
Просмотров 2 тыс.7 лет назад
My first attempt at time-lapse while rebuilding my snowblower. Unfortunately it's not complete because I ran out of memory half way through. Whoever owned the snowblower previously had put the augers on the wrongs sides, which just pushed the snow out the sides instead of into the impeller. I also replaced the main bearing, and the seals on the gearbox which were leaking.

    Yea I was waiting to hear your opinion. Someday, someone is going to figure out how to modify a compact so you can turn around to operate a rear mounted snow blower while sitting straight. Kind of like the Versatile farm tractor. That is where the weight should be, on the rear axle not the steering. Kind of like the Farmhand F10 loader I built back in the late '70's.

    You didn’t really compare, you just showed both machines working. Which one did you like the best? Why? To me, looks like the rear blower on the Ford was wider, but constantly turning around would get tiresome and it didn’t look like it got down to the ground as much as the Ariens. Thoughts?

    • @littleblue4x4
      @littleblue4x4 9 месяцев назад

      yeah good point, it wasn't the best comparison. The Ariens is my preferred machine mostly because my yard is kinda tight in places and it's easier to maneuver going forwards. Certainly easier on my neck for any amount of time. The rear mount would be a clear winner for moving a higher volume of snow. I actually got another rear mount Berco blower that I hopefully can review sometime if we ever get a decent storm this year. Thanks for watching!

    The best way to fill the transmission is to pull the four bolts holding the whole seat shroud, then pull the two bolts to hold the gas tank turn the gas tank sideways and you can get right to the fill port.

    Ariens HT-16 with the 40" snow blower is the best toughest tractor ever. Been running ours very hard for 5 years now. Mows all summer, pulling the 3x5 trailer excellent, and snowblows all winter and I have a large driveway with a 300ft long run straight run off our road to get up to the parking area. Snowblower throws easy 40ft average even at 2 +ft deep wet northern new England snow. I have to admit I do save the real super heavy duty work like logging, 5-6ft boulders and all the digging for my Deere 1050 tractor, as the 1500lb bucket lift capacity and 2250 three point lift, aswell as my model 8 quick attach backhoe absolutely slaughters everything needed. Last year we had a storm come through dropped 44" of very heavy wet snow on us which was fckn brutal so I thought the "little" Ariens would need the help of my 6,000lb real tractor to power through all the dam snow but I shit you not even the 7ft back at the end of the driveway piles from the big 4x4 county plows and graders were no FCKNG issue....I honestly couldn't believe it, obviously common sense and just letting her work that old whore was absolutely unstoppable lol I know a lot of guys run the gt tractors and they're great, but wtf man if I burn a belt IDC and in 5 minutes I'm all set....can't do that with the GT series. Even tho they're all only meant for maximum gardening at most, if I didn't have my big Deere tractor I'd probably have the need of the GTs hydraulics capabilities, but I don't so the best all around garden tractor for me is that Ariens HT-16 little work horse dressed nicely in her 23x10.5's Firestone 23°s don't even need chains with the weight box they bite so hard. The real gear transaxle she has is far heavier duty than even I (or my wife or even my young little Buck) need, but she's way over built which is why she's lasted 70ish % all original!!! Too bad they don't make them anymore, as they truely were top shelf all the way around with balls of steel an iron dcks for Christ sake, many times I shouldve snapped mine into pieces yet she just sits there begging for more every single season every single year

    Another thank you for making this video! The only issue I see with the rear pto blower is if you have neck and/or back issues, all that looking backward makes me cringe. If your healthy, then probably no problem. Frank I see your point about keeping machines such as these from sitting unused for too long. Some people have good luck and never have issues. That’s not me lol. Also, the damn mice always seem to get into my stuff when it sits for more than a few weeks at a time. I like to keep my stuff running as consistent as possible year round.

    Thanks for taking the time to make the vid. Love watching the machines work. Where did you get a new 3 point blower for $2000? Everything I see seems to be twice that money. Anyway, for my way of thinking, machines do better when they do not sit but rather get reasonably regular usage. That is the problem with a dedicated snowblower in my experience.
