In His Arms I'm Not Afraid
Smiling Jim Eanes of Martinsville, Va. He was a hero around the Martinsville area and the Piedmont Area of N.C. Frequently played on local country stations. He wrote many songs that were recorded by such stars as Ricky Skaggs and others. He wrote this song, "In His Arms I am Not Afraid." This is real country music, and it is exactly how I feel about life and death. I want it played at my funeral.

"I've done everything that Hank Williams did but die." Moe Bandy,

Written by Whispering Bill Anderson, Hank Williams and some other writer. Old Moe is a real singer and Jimmy Capps, the guitar playing Sheriff, can't be beat. Jimmy Capps is from my home state of North Carolina. He is one of the best to ever pick up a guitar. Whispering Bill knows how to write a song that will just tear your heart out. No body else can quite match him.

This is one of my favourite clips of Jimmy Capps playing because it gives a very clear picture of his fingers at work. Just wish someone would do a book of transcriptions along with the charts he used.
