Thank you for this video ladies. In the 80s my son and myself camped across from the shop just to the left heading up the headland. We camped every year for six week during the school holidays. I loved the time there and the lovely people I met. The children run wild and played lots of games in the evening. No mobile phones or technology then. I am wondering if camping is still allowed.

Hi Keith. I am sorry I haven’t released any videos on RUclips for a very long time. Some of my reasons are: Unfortunately I have not been on an adventure since my trip to Kingscliff. I lost all my videos and original footage when I did an update of my video editing software and this discouraged me from editing. I have access to new video editing software but I haven’t had time to learn it yet due to study and work commitments. I had major trouble with my motorhome’s fuel injectors a few months ago which cost me almost $5,000 and It still needs a service before I can take it on a road trip. I hope to go for a trip before this year ends and will take my camera and record it. Also, last year my Mum got cancer and my Dad has had multiple serious health issues which resulted me in staying close to them.

My advice with this model would be to check the slide-out at the bed to make sure it functions properly and the rubber seals are in good condition etc. and there is no where water can get in through the slide-out. I am just putting it out there.... How many of you Grey Nomads, men, women and couples are having issues out on the road with inconsiderate and rip off con men? You need something repaired, tyres replaced, being charged premium money because you drive a Winnebago. Are you having problems with the Iveco wheel alignment or bolts missing from around the transmission etc. Waterleaks in the roof and the bed area of the Winnebago, cupboards not staying shut while driving, the reverse camera not working properly and other problems. Dealer Warranty on both the Winnebago and the Iveco, who is looking after you? The middle aged and elderly women out there that this low life group of people who are praying on your vulnerabilities because they think you are a easy mark. Put it out there and don't be afraid of repercussions or being victimised. You have a voice, use it there is a Government Body who can help you in this situation. Speaking out will and can prevent ongoing trauma and unnecessary stress to not just you but many others in the future. My 78 year old friend, sold her Unit (her Home) bought her dream Winnebago to travel around Australia. This is her home nothing or nowhere else to call Home and She has Experienced and is Experiencing all of the Above. She stayed at my place for a week visiting, during a conversation she broke down and proceeded to tell about the issues she is experiencing with the Iveco and Winnebago as well as being prayed on by these low lifes out there because she owns a Winnebago. I have been able to show her where to go and report this Blatant rip off and Harassment. So Speak up and help each other, there is a Light at the End of this very Dark Tunnel. Shame on the Mess....

Robert Sheridan. Thanks for watching my video and commenting. I am sorry to hear of all the problems your friend has had with her Winnebago and hope all issues are sorted out soon under warranty. It is terribly disappointing to pay so much for a motorhome and have problems with it! A couple of years ago I was talking to a man staying at the Alstonville Showground, who had a Winnebago Whitehaven motorhome which he had bought new from a dealer in Sydney. He said he had had all sorts of problems such as the microwave crashing down out of the cupboard the first time he drove it, the fridge not working (I can’t recall the other issues). I also came across a couple with a new Sunliner motorhome who were waiting for their motorhome to be repaired through their insurer. Their motorhome was leaking badly from the roof where the vehicle cabin and house joined. I’ve been fortunate to have had no issues with my Iveco vehicle to date (fingers crossed). Apollo (Brisbane factory) repaired my motorhome’s slide-out which was leaking very badly last year. It was out of warranty but they repaired it at no cost under goodwill so I have no complaints about their service.

Hi Carole. I’d had the motorhome for two years and three months when the slide-out malfunctioned. Unfortunately, after the slide-out motor was replaced, it started leaking badly! (water flooded inside through the slide-out every time it rained!). My motorhome went in and out of repair shops for about five months before it was finally repaired and I could use it again. It was a nightmare! Because of my experience, if I was looking at buying another motorhome, I would not consider one with a slide-out. Thanks for watching and commenting.

I’m so sorry to hear that. I’ve heard a few nasty stories about motorhome dealers not fixing things when things go wrong. I hope the company looked after you with the leak. Like the video, but Dicky Beach is not the only recreational beach to be named after a ship wreck, approx 45 km South of Sydney CBD, just south of Maroubra Beach is a beach called Malabar beach. The bay was previously know as Long Bay, but after the wreck of the M V Malabar on the 2nd of April 1931 there was a petition by local residents to name the beach Malabar Beach. The petition was sucessfull and on the 29 September 1933 the beach was gazetted as Malabar Beach. Malabar Beach has a childrens play park, BBQs, 2 boat ramps on either side and ocean baths on the southern side near the golf course. It is also very popular with surfers when there is a large swell as it has a long uniform break due to a submerged rock shelf on the northern side of the beach.

I think I must have become accident prone as I had another fall in February this year. I tripped face down on a concrete path and injured my right ribs and both arms and left wrist. I had a chest X-Ray which showed no new rib fractures and 5 healed rib fractures (from the fall from my motorhome). Luckily my right arm wasn’t broken (just an effusion in the elbow and swelling which prevented me from being able to straighten my arm for a few months). I couldn’t drive my motorhome. Hi Bronwyn. My favourite things about my motorhome are: the large en-suite with lots of cupboards, the open floor plan with its white and light colored decor and large windows and fixed beds. The not so good things are: limited external storage space. There is no where to store an external ladder or a generator. There is storage space under the bed but it isn’t very deep. I also use the bed over the cabin to store items. It would be good to have more space in the dining/seating area.

Oh Mez! We're so sorry to hear about this awful accident. Besides the broken ribs, did you also have something happen to your knee that caused the fall in the first place? Or was it just a slip and fall? We so hope you're fully recovered. Your, and Janice's, attitude are amazing. Now that she knows how to handle the hook-ups, next will be driving lessons! 😉

Hi guys. Thanks for your concern. I have a bit of a dodgy knee. My ribs are still paining a little but are much better, thank you. My mum and I chuckled over your driving lesson comment 😂. You made our day 😍.

Hi, it's Mez. Have you stayed at Brooms Head or in the Yuraygir National Park? It's such a beautiful area!

Just lovely Mez! Wonderful to see you and you Mum out on the road (is your Dad okay?). We found WikiCamps to be very helpful during our time in Oz.

Hello Peter and John! It is always lovely to hear from you. It makes my day! My Dad is okay. I asked him to come on the trip but he told me "No, I think I would be better off staying at home"! He has problems with his balance (he gets dizzy and finds it hard to walk). Yes, WikiCamps is very helpful. To date, I've used the WikiCamps app the most. I joined the Campervan and Motorhome Club of Australia a few months ago and their app has even more camping sites listed as it also includes RV parks that give discounts to club members and low cost sites which are available to members, e.g. staying on club members properties. Thank you very much for watching!

Paddypaws Production We love you, and your videos, Mez, and we’re so happy to hear that your Dad is okay, even if not feeling up to hitting the road with you and Mum. We’ll be interested to hear how your trip didn’t go as planned. Hope it wasn’t anything serious.

Really nice place. Some places use the word "resort" all wrong. This place looks like a true resort.

Thanks so much for the mention, Mez! We remember staying in Sandstone Point during March 2016, but the place we stayed wasn’t nearly as nice. It was Easter weekend and there were almost no places available! We’re pretty sure the park you were in is brand new as we don’t recall it even existing when we were there. So glad to see you back on the road. Hope you and Mum are having fun and have more trips planned.

It's lovely to hear from you. Did you get time to visit the Sandstone Hotel and Bribie Island when you were there? The hotel opened in 2015. Yes, the park we stayed at is new; it opened in November 2018.

@@makingmemoriesalongtheroad2273 Great to hear from you too, Mez! 😊 Unfortunately, we weren't in the area for long. We just stopped to dump tanks, refresh resources (food and fresh water) and keep heading south. 3 weeks to RV from Port Douglas to Sydney wasn't NEARLY long enough. We definitely have to come back for at least several months next time!

Hi Mez! We LOVE that you’ve featured a spot where we actually stood. We conducted an interview right there on the side of the entrance road to Cape Byron Lighthouse during our video series on Australia. Thanks for the memories!

Yes, the same spot! I thought of you! I re-watched your Cape Byron episode yesterday and really enjoyed it again.
