Hi guys, just an update, unfortunately I haven't got round to any further videos as our baby girl had a catastrophic stroke after she was born after the last video that left life a bit in tatters and it's been taking every bit of energy we have going back and forward to hospital living there at times and so on. Things are improving so I will get back to it.

No oil dipstick? How to check oil level on Land Rover Discovery 5 2019
In this tutorial see how to check the engine oil level on Land Rover models via the driver information display (Instrument Panel Cluster).
Conditions:
Make sure that the vehicle is left for 5 minutes from filling with oil, and that the engine oil level is reading at least minimum, before starting the engine.
Make sure that the vehicle is parked on level ground.
Make sure that the selector lever and the gearshift mechanism are in the park (P) position.
Make sure that the bonnet is open.
If the engine has been started, allow 10 minutes from the engine switch off for the engine oil level to stabilise.
Using the steering wheel control pad, Press the Right arrow to open menu.
Press the Down Arrow and ...

hey bud. i noticed your auto stop start icon was yellow with a line through it. did new aux battery cure this?
Even after all that, I still can’t see an oil level, any ideas?
What does it say? Does it have the min and max image or it doesn't appear at all?
Can it be checked cold?
As far as I remember and ironically the software makes you have to warm the engine to operating temperature first. A point of which mechanics have always said if any damage was going to happen due to oil starvation it's then.
Mind boggling that there's no dipstick. I'm supposed to trust this electronic gauge for something that could kill my engine??? Selling this POS as soon as possible

Not sure if these have the same feature, but on my 2011 L322, You can turn off the engine, and then access the oil menu, but when it says ‘ not available’ if your bonnet is up, click cancel twice in quick succession and it will give you a readout. Whether that is entirely accurate, especially if you’ve literally just turned the engine off is another matter but at least you don’t have to wait the full 15 mins

One thing to add here is that you will have to remove the Seat restraint System connector before you move the seat or lay it down. Also, this will cause you to get a hard red SRS waring in your dash plus in the message every time you start the car. I had to buy a scanner to erase the code and message which cost me $150. It is still cheaper than taking it to the dealer.

@@GilbertGarcia75 once you remove the rear cargo mounts as described in the video you lift up the carpet you you will see it. Mine was a green wire

It was helpful but if you ever "update" this video you mentioned turn engine after warmup off, wait 10 or more minutes, then said "Push Ok Button" ahd this is what I was looking for is it (the Ok button on the wheel like BMW) or is it off a control on center console (BMW example)? I'm sure I'll figure out where the "Ok Button" is but a simple move of the camera and I'd be ready!

Who had the stupid idea of removing the dipstick from a car's engine??? They should be shot in the eye! How are you supposed to know the true condition of the oil without being able to get to the bottom of it? The level is the least important thing you check for on a new car. Shouldn't have any leaks on a newish vehicle..... but you do want to feel the viscosity and condition of the oil your typical driving has put the oil into. Bunch of retards in engineering!
My 2017 Hilux runs out of oil before the service light bloody comes on. Not happy but apparently the dealership says it falls on customers to check it frequently as it’s normal
That's quite appalling really. When you say out of oil do you mean completely? Or just below the stick?
It’s weird how they are changing the location of the battery on the MLs. On the w164 it was below the passenger seat, on the w166 2015 it’s on the right side of the trunk, make no much sense
Have you seen the "Radar Sensor Blocked" message when you try and use the cruise control? My cruise control works for about 5 minutes after starting the car and then the "driver intervene" message appears and it disengages.
I do apologize for not getting back sooner, I had to stop the videos for a while as our new born had a stroke during the lockdown and has been left with severe brain damage and cerebral palsy. So apologies for not replying. Did you sort your cruise control issue?

thank you for your commment. you are right, It certainly is on a lot of vehicles, but i thought this could be a useful video for those car that will no longer be covered for one reason or another.
