😅 I see see 19th century clothes mixed with early 1900s while they're playing 1940s music. It's an alternative universe

Would this be considered 1890s? I know the bustle undergarment was the rave during 1870s-1880s (maybe more so the 80s).

The easiest way to keep head scarves in place is to use a velvet headband (like the one one use under hijab, tichel and other head coverings) with velcro. The headband don’t slip put on the right way and the scarf on top sits as glue to the headband. No bobby pins or clips needed and the Scarves don’t twist and turn and cause breakage. I had a lot of breakage from pins and clips to secure scarves to my slippery, thin nordic hair and the headband solved everything.

For my 80th birthday, I am driving to Durango, CO, and will ride the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Rail Road, staying overnight at the Grand Imperial Hotel in Silverton, returning on the train the next day. I will be wearing an 1883-style traveling dress, and a hat, that I have made, and hopefully carry a parasol. My problem is that as of today, my silver/white hair is maybe 4 inches long. I will not be cutting it , other than the bangs, but I am reasonably sure I will need a couple of hair pads. Unfortunately, I have very little budget for extras, and was wondering what I could use, besides real or fake hair, to make the pads? I know it has to be something that will allow pins to go through it. I hate bangs, but each time I grow my hair out from the normal 1-2” length I like, my hair grows in a different way. Luckily, this time it decided to grow with bangs, and right now I have a hairstyle reminiscent of Captain Kangaroo, a children’s program host of the 1950s through at least the mid 1970s, right down to the same color! After this long preface (sorry, I am really excited about this trip) I wonder if you have any suggestions as to what I should use for the pads? I will be dining in the hotel restaurant, so will have my hat on, in public, and of course, it is barely a hat at all, as the style dictated at the time. I hope you can find the time to reply, thank you, Lee.
