I always travel with a good sleeping bag, so I didn't ask for blankets. Most of the tea houses I stayed at didn't have a blanket on the beds to begin with, so I wouldn't recommend to rely on getting a blanket everywhere you go. Especially not in high season.

Wenn Sie primär an Bergen interessiert sind, würde ich Gokyo empfehlen. Dort gibt es meiner Meinung nach die spektakulärsten Hochgebirgslandschaften. Wenn Sie eher mehrere verschiedene Landschaften mögen, bietet sich der Manaslu Circuit an. Dort wandert man die ersten paar Tage durch Wälder und tiefe Schluchten. Der Annapurna Circuit verläuft leider mittlerweile zum großen Teil auf Jeeppisten. Poon Hill ist ein sehr kurzer Trek und mit den anderen drei schwer vergleichbar.

I've seen the trail branching off when we walken towards Selele La, but I didn't go up. We planed to do so during our rest day, but we were snown in in Ghunsa, so we had to skip that day trip. I know people do it though. But how far you can get up towards the glacier unfortunately I can't tell you. Sorry!

@@TheMenWhoStareAtMountains I don't think that you can go that far as a day trip from Ghunsa. With one night camping options get better. But I have no idea how difficult the walk is

Hi Håkan! The largest bridge on the Manaslu Circuit is between Sirdibas and Philim. It's not as high as Hillary Bridge on the EBC Trek, but longer. In case there is strong wind, it might shake a bit. Other than that I don't remember any outstandingly long or high bridges. I'd GUESS (!) that if you were able to cross Hillary Bridge you should be able to hike the Manaslu Circuit. However I don't suffer from fear of hight, therefore can't relate precisely and I'm actually not qualified to answer that for certain. 😬

@@TheMenWhoStareAtMountains Thanks for the quick answer. When I did the EBC trek was for about 15 years ago and the it was the old Hillary Bridge which was lower. But I have one more question and that is relating to what season did you trek, spring or fall? regards. Håkan

That was in fall. I think mid October to first week in November. Be aware that Larke La is impassable for ice and snow more often than other passes as the decent looks north-west. So I'd advise against going between mid-Dec to March.

I usually trek with an agency called Prems Nepal Trek. You can find and directly text them on Facebook. Or just google them and you'll find their website. I did many treks with them and was never disappointed.

Thank you for these wonderfully kind words! ☺ I'm not fully qualified to answer the question with certainty, as I have no fear of height myself and I'm not completely sure what kind of trail section would trigger it, but I'll try to answer it as good as I can. The narrowest (permanent) trails on the Manaslu circuit are between Ekle Bhatti and Deng. It between 10:00 and 11:00 minutes in the first video: ruclips.net/video/O5Uf-b-Eemw/видео.html Apart from that landslides can happen in lots of different places. Those would require you to cross them on narrow, slippery gravel trails clinging to a steep slope. You can see one of those at 07:25 minutes, also in the first video. Besides that, the descent down from Larke La to Bhimtang is quite steep and across some rubble fields, but it's not a cliff or anything like that. So... I would (very uneducatedly) guess you'd be fine? The trails on the Annapurna circuit are even less of a problem, as they are even more wide, than the ones on the Manaslu Circuit. Btw, I have a whole video in the channel discussing the pros and cons of each of the two treks. Danke für das Lob! 😁 Im Khumbu gibt es so gut wie überall Strom. Einige wenige Lodges haben Steckdosen in den Gästezimmern. Viele der Lodges haben ein paar Mehrfachsteckerleisten im Speisesaal liegen. Die darf man oft gratis verwenden. Manche Lodges verlangen für das Aufladen von Geräten eine kleine Gebühr von 100 bis 300 NPR (oder mehr für Power Banks). Nepalesische Steckdosen sind eine Wissenschaft für sich. Normale C-Stecker funktionieren, sitzen aber oft recht locker. MAnchmal braucht man ein wenig Geduld beim reinstecken oder etwas Improvisationstalent um sich irgendwas zu basteln, das den Stecker in der Steckdose hält. Aber einen Adapter braucht man nicht. Generell funktionieren "unsere" Stecker... mit etwas Geduld.

Thank you! ABC is more spectacular, but it will most likely be very crowded in November. The Annapurna Conservation Area Project prevents people to build new lodges above chomrong and even banned expanding existing lodges. Because the number of trekkers is increasing, though, there is often a shortage of beds in high season. Especially at MBC and ABC. You can hire an experienced local guide, who might be able to book rooms for you in advance (not possible by yourself). If you want to go without a guide, you risk having to sleep in the dining room. Kopra Danda is not quite as spectacular as ABC in my opinion. It still provides great views, though. It should be a lot less crowded and (unless you happen to meet large organized groups) finding rooms won't be an issue. You could also consider Langtang or Gosainkund as great one week treks btw.

What made it strenuous was mostly just the snow. In the dry most trails won't be too tough. The trail to Pangpema would be strenuous, though, in any condition. 😅

Like 80% of the old trail is still the same, but the retreating glacier made the side moraine and the hillside above unstable, so it's now interrupted by 4 major landslides now.

Sure! This was in late March. March is the end of dry season, so some light rain here and there is to be expected. The amount of snow we got is quite unusual, though. The chance for longer and heavier rainfalls usually increases throughout April and May until the beginning of monsoon in June. During the whole spring it should get gradually warmer, but also more wet. We were just unlucky, as it was still fairly cold, but we got a full week of snow showers, at least on the south side of the range. Another thing to note about trekking in spring: During the long dry season in winter, the air gets more and more polluted, so even if it's clear weather-wise, it often looks hazy in March and April, especially in lower altitudes. The weather in fall (post monsoon) is usually a lot more stable and the air is clean. Starting in mid October the risk for larger showers decreases drastically. Late October and all of November are the best months for trekking, but also the most crowded ones. December to February is very clear, too, but also very cold.

Is that also applicable for the Annapurnna region? Another question regarding the spring season is, does not the Rhododendron bloom and make some of the mountain sides beautiful?

Good point about the Rhododendron! The time of blooming varies a lot though: by the exact kind kind of Rhododendron, by altitude and by the region. On our way up (3rd week of March) we only found very, very few blooming ones. Only the small red ones (apparently they are the first ts start) and only between 2000 and 2500 meters. On our way down (1st week of April) there were many more of the small red ones, also higher up, but still not a single white or pink blossom. Also no really big ones. I am not sure whether this late bloom is normal in the far East of the country or if it had to do with the unusually dry winter. Judging by the pictures I saw online, the Rhododendron blossom around Pokhara was very pretty at the very same time of year. Long story short: no real idea. Sorry! 😅

Also 100% pro crampons. The problem I had on this trek was, that the rubber band on my mini spikes was apparently too old and not flexible any more, so they fell off all the time. Not ideal. Since then I'm also 100% pro actually checking the equipment before setting off. 😅
