I was blessed to have one come and make my yard its home about 6 or 7 years ago. She had 2 babies hidden in an old tree trunk on the other side of the yard. I filmed her in a tree with a mouse in her mouth one day and waited for her to fly to the nest to feed the babies. So darn cool. They really do rest/sleep with one eye open.

Very cool IF you kept your distance and used a zoom lens.. not cool if you got too close & disrupted his/her space. Barred Owls are beautiful, though.
