This old JVC Hi8 Video Camera developed a fault where the cassette compartment could not close reliably. It appears to be related to the right side tape extractor pin assembly. Giving it a nudge as shown in this video might help you get the door closed. You'll probably need to undo the two screws holding the door cover, and remove it.

Watch the odometer rollover to 500,000km while out and about working in the New England, Australia. The only real gotcha with this model so far is the plastic tanks on the side of the radiator that like to split every 8-12 years, the plastic heater tap which becomes brittle with age, the fuel pumps seem go every 5-8 years, and the driver's side door wiring mucks up. Got this second hand. After its been on about ten minutes it starts making this weird noise on all inputs. Interestingly, blowing on the board spots the noise for a while, so a temporary fix is to add a fan. I'll update this message when I determine which component needs fixing.

Thanks for the video, I left in 1984, it is amazing to see the school again but also how much it had changed. Lots of tree/shrub growth rooms being used for classrooms that weren't before and what looked like an additional car park.

@@kalmahnalyd4615 you are right, it's the cassette mechanisms that's stopping it ...... I opened a sony mini dv camcorder cassette mechanism be ause the door won't close by its own and I had to add power to 5he motor externally so I had to dismantle every thing to get to that gear wheel to clean the contracts After i cleaned it started to work but the door used to get stuck.... So I opened again As a beginner I was not carefull as these machine needs expert touch only suck as yourself and I saw I left four screws which was holding the gate "loose" And after i tightened it It worked But still has problems😄

I have an idea. We know the inland rail is going from Melbourne to Brisbane via Parkes to Toowoomba (Gowrie Jct), so it will be standard gauge from Toowoomba to Brisbane. The reason the main north line was ultimately abandoned was because of the break of gauge at Wallangarra. Ideally, if the Main North were to re-open, it would need to have standard gauge extended from Wallangarra to Toowoomba where it joins the inland rail route. The inland rail route should be operational in 5-7 years time. But cutting 100 km of new standard gauge from Wallangarra to Warwick won't be cheap or easy. In the meantime, why not start with upgrading all the rail bridges, culverts and drainage lines on the Main North. Then slowly upgrade the rail corridor itself with new alignments, deeper cuts and fills, and ultimately allow any modern 900 m long freight train to haul full loads on it. Once the inland rail is up and running, it will be clear that some parts of the western plains will be subject to damaging floods, and an alternative route north is necessary. Then lay the tracks on the main north! Sure, we're talking 5-10 billion dollars here, but this line was THE main link between the colonies, and laid the foundations for federation. I think it's worth revisiting. Chris. (Former resident of Warwick, Armidale and unashamed train nerd).

@@MichaelKean How many K's now? Mine did about 430,000 when my VR was written off by some clown who pulled out in front of me. The engine from that one is was put into another VR and must have about 440,000km on it by now. Still going strong.

It's still working fine. Had a fall from a shelf 2 meters to the ground but still OK. Doesn't get used every day. In summer i take the front panel off and stick a magnet where the sensor is, place it in the window facing out and use it to bring fresh filtered air in from outside.

Get a can of freeze spray to spray instead of blowing by mouth. That will narrow it down to a transistor or two that is acting up. Will require removing several boards to get to it, and find substitute part and replace. Not for novice
We bought this unit a couple of days ago to cut down the smell of our guinea pigs (they live in the house). Works really well! The noise doesn’t bother us, as it is placed in the hallway away from bedrooms. After sales support is written clearly in the instruction manual. I have emailed them regarding replacement filters. They are $35 each, including postage. There is a 1800 number you can phone to order with credit card.

not sure if its the same noise as iv got mines more of a whinning noise sounds kinda like a super charger havnt replaced the idler pulley yet but got one today so i will soon find out if it fixes it

The2Tubby been a long time since then so I'm not 100% sure but fairly confident it was the idler pulley bearing.
